Secluded, remote, quiet and private! The Plumas Headwaters Retreat is set at 5900' with ridges rising on both sides, and a creek that flows through. This property is a unique and evolving habitat and ecosystem restoration project where you can see the rebirth of a forest, following the 2021 Dixie Fire. Headwaters Retreat is a perfect option for finding critters such as mule deer, black bear, an occasional bobcat or coyote, and raptors & upland birds! While more elusive and less frequent, you may even see or hear elk, wolves and mountain lions!
Being surrounded by National Forest and gently rising ridges to the west and east, this site is perfect for easy to moderate hikes, mtn biking the forest roads, or doing some dark-sky stargazing from the ridges!

You'll notice that the tent area is surrounded with an electric bear fence - this is primarily to keep critters (bear, deer, range cattle) from getting cozy with the tent setup while people are away...
