Historically rich area with lots to see. Learn more about this land: Salmon Grove is a small campground on the Klutina River in Copper Center, Alaska. We have large coin-operated showers, a handicap-friendly outhouse, dump station, water, tackle shop and awesome salmon fishing. Fishing for the famous Copper River Salmon is good right from camp. Enjoy a short hike to the nearby Copper River. You can expect most sites that are on the water to have limited privacy due to the popular location. If you are the type that likes the more secluded feel we also have tent sites set back from the water that are surrounded by trees and thick vegetation for a more private feel. Would HIGHLY recommend Salmon Grove Campground and other activities. We have been going last few years and just love the location. Stephanie, Dan, and the crew go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience!

Salmon Grove on the Klutina River

If you’re into salmon fishing, and do not mind being crammed into a dirt lot with other campers, this might work for you. When we arrived, a friendly gentleman tried to help us find a spot to park. He didn’t know anything about Hip Camp or how it works. I had used insta-book a half hour before arriving, so I was unfortunately not able to get a refund. For me, the description of this camp wasn’t very accurate.

Amazing space, clean, was amazing falling asleep to the creek. They run a Salmon spot that I’ve heard good things about. Would recommend!

We’ve stayed with Stephanie at Salmon Grove twice and love it! Great location right on the Klutina where you can fish from the banks. Awesome option if you’re into fishing.

Nice location with immediate river access to Klutina. Is near a busy road so not the most quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Showers were nice, especially after a long day of playing and getting sweaty.

Salmon Grove is AMAZING!!

Salmon Grove on the Klutina River

Campsites are truely right on the water and fishing for "Reds" and "Kings" are literally steps away. The rapid flowing Klutina River is a relaxing sound! Stephanie own this, she moved to Alaska 20 years ago in her early 20's and has become a true alaskan woman even at 115 pounds! She is an exceptional guide and teaches women how to fly fish in a safe enviroment while rafting down the river (of course men too are welcome ). The campsite has a women's touch with very clean bathroom, showers and laundry room. There are even full length mirrors!! BOOK THIS to meet a kind alaskan family who have fishing and hunting in every piece of DNA
