A piece of Alaska history that I was able to enjoy. Joe and his wife were lovely hosts. Felt private compared to any other options in the area. Grounds well maintained. Greeted upon arrival and felt welcomed immediately. Would highly recommend for the Alcan transient to the local Anchorage family looking to beat the Kenai crowds.

Love this camp! The tent was so cute and very clean! Pet friendly which is very important to us and it worked out perfectly! The breakfast in the mornings were simple and delicious, easy to take on the go if you are planning on exploring the surrounding areas! We will definitely stay here again when back in the area!

Tent spot #1 was a great area. The entire property is really nice and peaceful. The outhouse and shower was clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful little spot! Our hosts were very helpful in getting us set up, and keeping us warm. Cabins were clean and set up with everything we needed, coffee, tea, kettle in the tent. Plus an easy breakfast in the morning was a win, and quite filling. We ran out of propane in the early morning, but the owners quickly ran another bottle down and got us warm again. Without a doubt would do it again, maybe closer to summer though.

Joe and Megan are very hospitable and friendly Their site and outhouse were very clean. And they had a wonderful hot shower and fresh towels. There was firewood available at a bargain. Totally recommend this place!

This place is *spotless* - I didn’t see any micro trash. Bathrooms are sparkling. Shower is probably the cleanest camp shower I’ve ever seen (and the water is HOT, with fresh towels provided daily). My site has some mild road noise during the day but it was not bothersome at night at all. Firewood is inexpensive and easy to get from the shed. Host is very communicative. Definitely enjoyed my stay here.

Peaceful and well kept sites. Super clean outhouse and shower were so appreciated! Water was provided and WiFi worked great. I enjoyed my stay!

Stump Creek is a great property, I'd highly recommend it! We stayed in the Prospector Tent which was spacious and clean. The hosts were super nice and accommodating and there was even a breakfast included with our stay which was an amazing little touch.

Stump Creek was a great little find. Joe and Megan were so welcoming, stopping by to say hello and chat. The bathroom and shower areas were pristine, the view was amazing, and this is a great place to stay when in Alaska. It's just over an hour to Wrangell-St. Elias NP and 30 minutes from Lake Louise. Thanks for the great stay!

I loved tent camping in Joe's land because it was all really clean and it has showers and bathrooms. He provide you with clean towels and shampoo and body bath.

The Miner Wall Tent
Beautiful area! We stayed in the Miner tent for a night and the hosts thought of everything you might need. Breakfast was delicious, the shower on site was warm and cozy, and just an all around positive experience. Definitely recommend!

This new site is great!!!! It’s a little more tucked away. The fire ring area was separate from the tent space and the picnic table was nicely placed. I’d also like to mention the smaller gravel for comfort on the tent pad.
Stump Creek is getting bigger and better all the time. The host is constantly making improvements and the hospitality is unmatched.

Joe and Megan were the best hosts you can ask for. Their communication and interactions were exactly what first timers needed. The tent was warmed when arrived. They brought bfast in the morning which was delish especially the fruit. The location was secluded and had an enjoyable trail walk. They assisted with a request which made the experience even better. We would def come back. The outhouse was clean too!! Thanks for a memorable experience.

This was a great campsite in a beautiful area. We enjoyed hiking the trails accessed right from the site. Joe and Megan provided water and firewood. They were very easy to communicate with and accommodating. The outhouse was clean. It was a great, quiet place to stay!

We loved this upscale comfy tent at Stump Creek! It was close to freezing temps in the morning but the little heater kept us toasty warm inside! Megan’s muffins and noosa yogurt with fruit was so extra, but the smores too? Such a great stay. Thanks Joe and Megan!

So many conveniences: location, out house, potable water and a cooler with goodies. The tent was amazing and being able to crank on the propane heater knocked the chill off the 37°F night temps. The whole experience was clean & tidy - we look forward to staying at Stump Creek again in the future.

My daughters and I stayed at Stump Creek for the weekend and we loved it. There’s plenty of wooded land to explore and the wild blueberries we picked were a hit. They were everywhere. Joe and his family were very welcoming and helpful with hiking/travel tips. We would definitely recommend staying there if you are in the area.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. We stayed in Miner tent and it was a great experience. It is conveniently located close, but not too close, to the outhouse. It was very secure due to the platform it was on. It was warm due to the stove installed. It was very cozy due to the comfortable bed, bedding and tables provided. Very clean as well. On top of that they included games, fresh water, firewood and breakfast which was such a lovely and appreciated surprise. Loved that we could have our dogs, they even accommodated for them as well. Our host offered us a pack n play for our son which we had our own but was still very appreciated. The property is small and quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. We are Alaskans but never camped in this area before, we were in awe of how beautiful the sky is at night with little to no light pollution. The northern lights we saw were some top notch. All in all, highly recommend. We will be back for sure.

Perfect camping stop on our way to visit Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. The campsite was great, and hosts (Joe and Megan) were very easy to communicate with and always quick to respond. Bundles of campfire wood available on site for purchase, a shower, and a beautiful trail on the property made it better than any other campsite we've stayed at for this value.

Joe was a great host!! His setup at Stump Creek was amazing!! Our family of 5 really enjoyed staying in his Prospectors tent and on his land. He even allowed us to pitch a tent next to it so my son and I could tent camp. Joe was easy to contact and we enjoyed talking with him. He provided some great homemade scones in the morning along with fruit and yogurt. We are looking forward to coming back again to stay and ride our wheelers in the area. Highly recommend staying at Stump Creek!!

We came across this spot at the last minute on our way to Chitina and it was a beautiful place!! The shower and outhouse were immaculately clean. The property was quiet and beautiful. Joe came to meet us when we were setting up camp to say hi and brought us some firewood for the fire pit. We just stayed the one night this trip but we will definitely be back to check out the rest of the property!! It was a wonderful experience!

Great stay on Joe's property! Well kept accommodations, facilities, and grounds. Had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The heater in the tent kept things cozy throughout the night and we stayed warm and dry during the rain. Hot shower and clean outhouse was a plus. Tent came equipped with a bundle of firewood and there was more nearby available. Was able to indulge in Reese's pieces s'mores which were provided! Joe checked on us upon arrival to make sure he had everything we needed and came by in the morning again to make sure things went well. Would definitely stay again!
