Tucked away from the hustle and bustle and nestled in the trees just outside of town, Busafonte welcomes you to get lost in nature. On nearly two acres of land, you'll have your own private area to enjoy, including a large fire pit, hammock trees, and perhaps a visit from our neighborhood turkeys and chickens. Regular wildlife visitors to our woodland include moose, black and brown bears, eagles, ravens, squirrels, magpies and Steller’s jays, among other birds. Busafonte is a "dry" converted mid-size bus equipped with electricity, a water tank, and a private outhouse. A small, fully equipped kitchen and a separate bedroom with a twin bed and its own woodstove provide the perfect home base for relaxing before and after your big adventures. Our property is just a short distance from town, multiple hiking trails, and plenty of outdoor outfitters (fishing, kayaking, and sightseeing). We are happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions to help you make the most of your visit.Dry converted school bus with electricity and kitchen/seating area, wood stove, water tank, outhouse/porta-potty, firepit, and small deck and yard area out the back. Perfect for a rest before and after your big adventures! Ideal for solo traveler, close couple (it's a twin bed!), and your animal companion(s). For two people, we recommend bringing a sleeping pad or you'll get really cozy in the bed. :)

This was a great experience! Cozy, quiet, and the portapotty was the cleanest I’d ever seen. It was a little tight with two people, but we brought a sleeping pad and it worked out just fine. We were lucky with weather, but it could have been hailing and we wouldn’t have know the difference. The wood stove would be very cozy in the winter. Would love to come back another time!

Had a great time staying at Caryn’s Busafonte! It was small but cozy. My boyfriend and I were both able to squeeze into the twin bed comfortably. Very close to Kenai Fjords and was perfect for our boat tour. Caryn was also super kind and always responded quickly. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

We had a great time staying on the Busafonte! It was super cozy and warm during the cool Alaskan nights. I especially loved playing boardgames with my partner by the light of oil lamps and fairy lights! There’s some chickens near by but I usually sleep with earplugs so it didn’t bother me at all. All in all, a super cute stay, would recommend!

The bus is super cute, and convenient to Seward. Very clean porto and kitchen, and while we didn’t use the firepit it looked well stocked. Only caveat with the space is that the bed isn’t really big enough for two. I ended up sleeping under the table, nestled with some sleeping pads. Also a bit of a musty smell, but that’s to be expected with an old vehicle.

Caryn’s Busafante was an excellent option for us just outside of Seward! Spacious and dry, added bonus of the wood stove for post adventure warm ups, sweet fire pit outside, and Caryn went out of her way to give a ride back in to town upon checkout! Staying in a converted bus was a true AK experience, highly recommend!!!

Busafonte was comfortable and quiet. We liked the old bus vibe! Me, my partner and our two terriers enjoyed visiting. I brought a sleeping pad and that gave us plenty of room when it was time to sleep. We would like to come back when it’s chilly enough to use the stove!

Staying in the trailer was a fun and unique experience — and excellent value, especially if you plan to cook during your stay. Caryn was a fantastic host: friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend!

A Beautiful Night in the Bus
Busafonte
I had a lot of fun and stayed warm and cozy at the Busafonte. It is private and nestled in the woods but only 7 mins from downtown Seward where I had to be for my activities, great location. The bus is stocked with plenty of perfectly sized wood pieces and kindling for the wood stove and has an easy to use foot pump system for using the sink. Caryn came out and greeted me and made sure I had everything for a nice stay, thank you so much for your hospitality! I loved staying here!
