Seaside Farm is a 30 acre, magical, park like farm on the shores of Kachemak Bay, just outside of Homer, a few miles down from the Kilcher Homestead where I grew up in the 1940's! . Now a song bird sanctuary, with trails, lawns, gardens, trees, hay fields, and a private beach, cabins, a clover camping meadow, Seaside was once part of an original Alaska pioneer homestead. It is also the home of hundreds of songbirds, moose, coyotes, wild hares, flocks of sandhill cranes, two sweet Morgan Horses, an assortment of chickens and visitors seeking peace, nature, wildlife, pristine beaches, in a real Alaska, non touristy setting. This property has three different types accommodations: Rustic, cozy cabins, a big field for tent campers, and a few spaces reserved for 4 wheel drive vans, and small vehicle camping, including rooftop tents If you prefer camping away from the tourist crowds, you will find our soft clover meadows and well kept lawns, a deluxe and memorable experience. The beach is a short walk down the trail, where its peaceful and private, with only the sound of the seagulls and waves. Van campers have a few special areas to park their vehicles, with views of the glaciers and mountains. There is limited parking and turnaround space, and we like our farm not too crowded, to provide a special rural experience to all who visit. It helps to call or text before you arrive to make sure we are on site and can help you with parking! There are three cabins sprinkled throughout the property. Two are off grid, close to the beach, private and magical, with wood stoves. All cabins are able to use the main farm lodge amenities, just a few minutes walk away but have their own outhouses, all with amazing views! You can walk on the beach from the main lodge parking area, there is a covered camping pavilion available to all guests, a communal campfire spot and bbq grill, lovely maintained walking trails and meadows, and even wifi! We allow most dogs, but ask you to contact us before booking with us, so we can let you know our rules before you travel. All dogs must be well behaved, social, on leashes and at owner's side at all times to protect our trusting wildlife from accidental harm, like our baby pheasants, moose, bunnies, and songbird nests!

This is a 10-acre property along the edge of the north bank of the Klutina River--a major king salmon-fishing stream that flows into the famous Copper River just one half mile downriver. That part of the property used for camping along the river is 3 acres. This is a SEASONAL location: Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with NEW LOWER prices. At this time only the riverside sites (south side of the river dike that one drives across) are available for camping or RV parking. We have no power or other hook-ups on the riverside except that water is available on site through a series of new DEC-approved pipe and spigets, along with more fire pits and more picnic tables. Showers are extra @ $5.00 a person; Laundry tokens: $3.00 per washer load or 40 minute dryer load. Bar on site. Food service coming later THIS 2024 season. WIFI is only on the north side of the dike near any of the overnight rooms or the bar. We recommend no RVs to exceed 28 feet on the river side of the dike. Very private sites and spread out--far more so than other nearby locations. The public restroom is on the north side of the dike. AND we have several budget rooms available on the north side of the dike as well. In 2026, these start at $125/night. These all have Dish Net, WIFI, and coffee in the rooms. The bunkhouse, which can handle up to a dozen people, starts at $300/night for 4 persons. This property is undergoing development. We are adding more picnic tables, burn sites, and water connections for safe camping. Just to the east, across the Copper River, is the 12 million acre Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Our property is conveniently located in driving time almost exactly halfway between Anchorage and McCarthy-Kennecott. It is about 3 1/2 hours in either direction. At the Klutina you can charter a sight-seeing river boat or you can white-water raft from a point several miles up a historic trail that follows the river to its source--Klutina Lake and Klutina Glacier. You can obtain a visitors' license and fish here for salmon. You can also hike along the dike or numerous trails in the area.

Twin Rivers Wilderness is a 520-acre private wilderness area, uniquely situated as a private inholding within the Fritz Creek/Anchor River Critical Habitat Area. It offers an exceptionally private and remote wilderness experience despite being only 8 miles, as the crow flies, from downtown Homer—about a 30-minute drive along a beautiful scenic route. AWD or four-wheel drive is recommended, especially during rainy conditions, as access requires traveling 3.3 miles on a dirt road. No RVs, please. We have miles of trails, including both maintained and game trails, that wind through extensive moose habitat. Wildlife commonly seen on the property includes moose, bears, lynx, porcupines, birds, and many other species. The communal areas are still under development as of June 2026, and some construction activity is taking place near the basecamp yurt and several of the unique clear polycarbonate domes. As a result, we are currently welcoming adventurous travelers who enjoy rustic camping experiences and do not require luxury accommodations. While our infrastructure is still limited, we do provide water, power, and Wi-Fi near our runway hangar camping area, which is suitable for tent and car camping. The property is located on the toe of a ridge above the confluence of the Anchor River and Twitter Creek. Beyond the rivers, we are surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine, undeveloped public wilderness. Enjoy spectacular views of the volcanoes across Cook Inlet to the west and the Kenai Mountains across Kachemak Bay to the south. Our nearest neighbors are miles away. TL;DR: We had a great time and plan to stay here again. John was easy to communicate with and Terry, the camp host, was wonderful. Our site (#3 back in) was good, although it took a few attempts to make sure our awning didn't extend into a tree. We came down from Anchorage to go dipnetting on the Kenai. The fish cleaning area was excellent, and the chamber vac was commercial grade. The bathrooms were clean and it was nice to use the dryers after all the rainy days. It's $2 in quarters and Terry can make change. I worked from my camper and had access to the Starlink network (there's also an extender network). I only had two bars from it, but was able to do my work. Zoom was sometimes unstable, but fine when I turned off my camera. We can't wait to go back.

Weekend Trip to Seaside Farm

The perfect place for a picturesque Homer visit! The farm is so welcoming and everyone was super friendly. Having the option of indoor plumbing was lovely but the outhouses were perfectly fine. This has been on my list to visit for a couple of years and I’m so glad I got the opportunity. There are so many options from car camping, a beautiful meadow for tent camping, or the cutest cabins ever designed, that it was hard to choose an adventure! We ended up staying in the Wildflower cabin and it was such a great experience I can’t wait to visit again and try the other sites!

Albatross is a great little camp! I love the description and it fits perfectly. We weren't too far from anything and had peace and quiet. All amenities were great. We have a 5th wheel with everything we need. If you are looking for a campgroud with all the bells and whistles then this isn't for you. We thoroughly enjoyed it and so did our dogs.

Margit was an absolute delight. She was very kind, and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. We loved the view, being able to sit out by the wonder and see the fish. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin! If we are out this way again, we hope to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Twin Rivers Wilderness

My family and I really enjoyed our time camping by the hangar on Clifford's land. Having the outhouse right there was great (especially with having 4 kids). My kiddos loved the wide open space to play. The views were beautiful on the drive up and where we were camping. Back roads were easy to navigate, but make sure you have 4 wheel drive.

I had a great stay here and would definitely come back. The campsite was really quiet and private, which was exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to relax and enjoy being outdoors without feeling like I was on top of other campers. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. They made me feel welcome and were quick to answer questions, but they also gave me plenty of privacy. One thing that was especially important for me is that there was Wi-Fi and solid AT&T service. I'm in grad school, so being able to get online when I needed to made a huge difference. It was nice to be able to camp without completely disconnecting from my coursework. Now I know I can even go mid-week and enjoy working outside! If you're looking for a peaceful place to camp with great hosts and reliable connectivity when you need it, I'd definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Scott and Lindsay!

Simple park, a bit tight for big rigs. No dumpster and trash cans were full. The views can’t be beat! Lots of wind and cold due to location and elevation.
