Lovely Meadow Campsite
Chris' land is located in a lovely meadow/aspen grove with lots of shade and plenty of space for our big tent. The area is quiet, with only a few cabins along the road - it was a great spot to relax with our dogs.
Site 1 is a bit smaller and a little further away from the structures on the site, and you have to walk close to Site 2 to access the outhouse. We rented both sites because we wanted a lot of privacy and some space. Both sites have nice fire pits and picnic tables; bring your own water.
This is a healthy meadow ecosystem, so expect bugs, lots of butterflies, and even some cool birds.

Lovely Meadow Site
Chris' land is located in a lovely meadow/aspen grove with lots of shade and plenty of space for our big tent. The area is quiet, with only a few cabins along the road - it was a great spot to relax with our dogs.
Site 2 is very near Chris' playhouse and shed (in case you care about being near structures), and has easier access to the outhouse. It is also further from the road and has a nice forest path. Both sites have nice fire pits and picnic tables; bring your own water.
This is a healthy meadow ecosystem, so expect bugs and even some cool birds.

Dog Heaven
"Off leash dogs welcome" is our favorite filter with HipCamp. Always takes us to fabulous, out of the way locations. This camp did not disappoint.
Pines and Aspen, acres for dogs to frolic. Only three vehicles passed the location in three days..very secluded. Will definitely go again, probably longer next time.
I read the reviews and directions carefully, had no trouble finding the place.
Some hints. Follow Chris's directions as written. When you turn off highway 36 ignore your GPS for 6.3 miles until you hit the T in the road. Now trust your GPS again.
The house with the smiley face did not survive the winter but the owner has kindly put up a very distinct sad face sign...you are on the right road.
Gate looks locked but there is a carabineer somewhere amongst the links.
Keep driving until your GPS says you have arrived and look for the water containers just to your left (Google actually takes you to the gate next door).
There are two camp sites but they are within 100 feet of each other. We booked both after reading the reviews and because, well, for an extra $16 we don't have to share.
We drive a 4x4 fully contained Scooby Van and had no issues with the road taking the prescribed route. This location is best suited for tents, car camping, and adventure trailers. The road is a bit narrow for travel trailers.
The ONLY complaint we have are the mosquitoes. We stayed early June where daily showers keep the meadows wet. Appropriate clothing and bug spray was helpful.

It was a beautiful place to set up a tent, my only suggestions would be make it more clearly marked and also to be able to find the fire ring that wasn’t by the cabin and outhouse. The one site with the cabin and shed had a creepy vibe for us, so I was thankful the other site was open. Was t sure which site we were suppose to take.

Not private, campsites are shared.
So campsite 1 and 2 are pretty much on a drive way of a property, there was another couple there which we had no privacy, they went to bed at midnight so we couldn’t sell til then and then when they left they drove 1 foot away from where we set up tents at dusk, it’s more of a community camp site, there was no areas to set up our tents because the grass was so tall, we had to set them up on top of tall grass which had bugs and spiders, There was garbage from previous campers prior to our arrival. I was not stoked but made it work, the sat-sun no one was there so we were able to enjoy the area but would not recommend or come back. On a positive note it’s nice and secluded.

Good spot but needs maintenance
Loved the spot & everything provided, but the sites need some maintenance. Not much space for multiple parties; tall grass and foliage made it hard to find spots to tent.

Beautiful private camp, needs some.
It was a beautiful area, and very nice to have a private camp. It was very hard to find in the dark, and the roads were pretty rough. Chris was responsive when we reached out. The campground needed some maintenance, as the drive way was overgrown and hard to find, and the water tanks were empty. Do have the bug spray at the ready for when you get out, because the mosquitoes are very happy to welcome you. We did hear a pack of coyotes nearby each night, so keep your pets safe. Unfortunately my husband was allergic to the yellow flowers which covered the area, and so his allergies were very bad when there. There were other wild flowers, which were beautiful, like wild roses, wild geraniums and asters, and pink pussy toes, which I haven’t seen for a long time. The Aspens were lovely, and the stars were breathtaking.

Great camping spot. Only 30 mins to bear lake. Super friendly host,-got lost, but host answered super late and was so polite. Would recommend to anyone! Great host! Beautiful place.

Quiet camp in aspen trees
Actual camp was fine, but surrounded by private property with “no trespassing” signs so the only place to hike was on the road the way we came. About 40 minutes to Bear lake down a passable but rutted road. Quiet site.

Beautiful Mountain Meadow Site
Loved this site in the fall-no bugs, fall colors starting, no other campers. If you follow the host’s directions you shouldn’t have issues getting there. We have a RoofNest on our truck and the spot was great for us. Our dog loved it too-she was very at ease and happy there. The price was right, too, for a very quiet and starry night on a beautiful mountain meadow. We noticed a motion camera on a tree at the back of the property halfway through the stay. We appreciate why the owner might want that; for privacy reasons we just wish it had been mentioned in the listing. Great spot if you are passing though Idaho and want something unique and private.

Peaceful, Beautiful Meadow Camping
We had a great stay at this camping spot by Bear Lake! We found the directions very easy to follow (use Chris' directions and not your GPS) and it led us to a beautiful, quiet meadow. We set up camp and appreciated having access to a rustic bathroom and non-potable water. There was a trail leading from our site to the bathroom that was lined with solar-powered pathway lights. Each site had a fire pit and picnic table. Due to fire season, we did not start a fire, but there was available firewood and I'm sure it would have been lovely! This spot was perfect for us as a little stop from the west coast out to Yellowstone National Park.

Beautiful Private Campsite
This was a great campsite! We struggled a little to find it, but once we were there it was perfect. We really appreciated there was water and buckets available to put out our fire. Being surrounded by the trees was so beautiful and private. We saw lots of butterflies, chipmunks, and even briefly spotted an elk! Would definitely recommend this campsite :)

The site was private, next to one other camping space. The area was clean and well-maintained. The trees were beautiful and the stars were bright! Need a trick or something similar to access the site because of a long dirt road. I gave this site all the best ratings.

It’s about 50 minutes from Garden City. It is also a 20 minute drive on a fairly well maintained dirt road, but a dirt road regardless. Pretty open campsite, not much privacy if the other campsite is taken. Beautiful area, just really far away from Bear Lake.

Beautiful property!
This was our first time using Hipcamp and we loved this site. It is private and right against a beautiful forest. The camp has a rustic outhouse, fire pit, and picnic table. They have non-drinkable water to put out the fire and wash your hands. We booked both sites because we weren't sure how it was set up. Of you're in site 2, you'll need to walk across the neighboring campsite to get to the outhouse. There were mosquitos but having a fire and using bug spray helped!
We had a really awful time getting here. We came in from the south (town of Ovid) which is what our GPS instructed. We ended up getting stuck on a crummy dirt road that my all wheel drive SUV couldn't handle. We eventually made it to the site, and then found that the better way to arrive would be from Georgetown, coming in from the north. Take Stauffer Canyon road heading west. You'll eventually see a house with a big smiley face and the road forks- take the west road, which would be veering slightly to the right. The directions on this listing say to turn left at the smiley face, so I'm not sure what that means. The road you want is to the west. You'll continue up the road past a gate (which says private property and you might have to open, but you are ok to do this) and you'll eventually find the campsite. This route is a dirt road, but much better maintained than the route coming from the south that your GPS/Google Maps will recommend.

Beautiful Spot
This was a great place to camp. We wanted trees, stars and a view, with few to no neighbors and we got it.
Getting there and back was difficult. Our friend driving a sedan wasn’t able to get to the site to join us. We trusted google maps to get us there and took almost twice as long to get there than we expected.

Nice site but extremely lousy Host
The campsite was clean and spacious. There was water on site to put out your camp fire. We stayed in camp site two. Campsite one has a outhouse and dry firewood that you can use as long as you replace what you use. But the directions he has posted suck!! The address can’t be found on gps and the grid location by gps takes you on a road that is very rough and narrow and becomes undrivable. We ended up damaging two stabilizer jacks on the rear of our trailer. Two strangers that own land out there came and helped us get turned around and with the use of a chainsaw they made the road passable and showed us how to get to the campsite a safer and easier way. Two weeks before and a week before the camp trip we emailed our host for better directions but he never emailed us back. The site was nice but the directions and the host both suck!!

The area is lovely and comes with a good firepit and well kept outhouse. A good place for hiking and trips to bear lake. There were mosquitos, but starting a fire makes them disappear. Area is not large enough for more than two tents though.

Actual peace and quiet
Had a Wonderful time! The site was just as described. It was a short drive to Bear Lake (30 minutes) and had a nice town nearby (15 minutes) so we were able to get some odds and ends we forgot. It was nice beaing able to leave the crowded lake and sleep in the middle of the pine and aspen without anyone bothering us. Very peaceful site, totally quiet and could see every star at night. The host was great about directions and the outhouse was a great addition. Will definitely be back!

Chris was super nice but this isnt a very good "camping" spot. This could be ok if you had a trailer and were a very primitive type camper but we just had a tent and 2 kids and dogs with us. The whole site is overgrown, run down and very buggy (yes, its camping, I know). We ended up leaving and camping on Bear Lake. This site was about 40 minutes away from Bear lake.
