The Scrub Campsite

Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail. This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 11 bespoke sites available but only 8 sites are offered at any one time so campers can have their privacy. The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle. We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, cars, rooftop tents, tents and swags (sorry, no large caravans). During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Some firewood is supplied for you. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period. Due to the predicted 2023 /2024 high fire season, NO campfires will be allowed during the fire ban season - NOVEMBER 15 to APRIL 29. All bookings will be be cancelled if severe or catastrophic fire conditions are forecast. A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available. A composting toilet is available as is a solar and rocket shower system. Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located 1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite. Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away. The Scrub Campsite was honored to have won 3rd place for best campsite in South Australia for 2023. All campers are to respect other campers and the land that they are camping on. Enjoy the serenity of waking up on our 100-acre farm in the Adelaide Hills. Piney Estate is a beautiful base camp from which to explore the Adelaide Hills, but you'll be just as inclined to relax on the property and enjoy peaceful country time. The location is ideal, being just 5mins from Nairne village (which has a great Foodland, butcher and bottle shop). Plus there are plenty of foodie and wine options to discover in the region. We offer different options, some sites have water and power (and access to the pool) and others are more remote, fully self-sufficient spots. Many sites have a campfire space (not available during the summer fire ban months). Pets are welcome off-leash, so long as they remain under control and do not disturb the farm animals, keep them on leash if you aren't sure how they will behave around sheep and cattle. Also note we have 2 dogs here, and 3 cats, and other guests may have pets, so make sure your dog is dog-friendly, or else keep them leashed at all times.

At The Landing you'll be surrounded by big beautiful old gum trees in a peaceful farm setting. You'll see a variety of bird life, kangaroos and maybe even a koala or an echidna if you're lucky. Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer Ranges and is on the Bremer River in Rockleigh. This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area. We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums- surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags. The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully. We are 45 minute drive from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region. We are only 30 minutes drive from Monarto Conservation Park which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals. We have a toilet available but please BYO toilet paper. From the 15th April fire are allowed. & portable firepits are available for your use Sorry, not pets.

Interstaters, this is 15 mins from Magill and about 40 mins to the CBD / some small caravans ok .. its a world away but a close option, sorry no power . Rove on the property or Rock climb at nearby Morialta falls / Cleland / Mt Lofty or use the Grove as a base to Rove along the nearby Heysen trail , the many bakeries , eateries , wineries, breweries and distilleries nearby . Visit Marble Hill residence on open days, or any of the many events Adelaide hills has on offer. ( Medieval fair / Adelaide rally / SALA / bay to Birdwood / Anzac to name a few ) Enjoy a complimentary box of Marble Hill Water on arrival ... Roast some chestnuts * over the campfire or gather some wild blackberries* , or mushrooms *. ( * in season ) . Pls Note Guests are provided a basis toilet / waste disposal area and your self contained outdoor showers are welcome . If you are staying longer than one night you need to bring your own portable chemical toilet please, as per Hipcamp’s rules. 4) There are sheep and friendly goats living on the site at the moment. The sheep won't bother you but the goats may come and say hello but shouldn't bother you. Please don't feed them as then they will pester you. 5) We do not issue refunds for bad weather. Please make sure you check the weather conditions are suitable for your stay. Willow Glen Alpaca Farm

The property is a private farm with 2 dams and views extending across the valley. There are a number of suitable locations to for bush camping. Site access is limited to dry weather and vehicles with single axle camper trailer or tent. It is recommend for vehicles with higher ground clearance. The River is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle. A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy. Close to: Hahndorf - 5 min drive Stirling - 10 min drive Mount Lofty - 15 min drive Tour Down under (TDU) - passes at the end of the road several wineries Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them upon departure. Due to the livestock on site dogs unfortunately are not allowed.

Piney Ridge Estate

Enjoy the serenity of waking up on our 100-acre farm in the Adelaide Hills. Piney Estate is a beautiful base camp from which to explore the Adelaide Hills, but you'll be just as inclined to relax on the property and enjoy peaceful country time. The location is ideal, being just 5mins from Nairne village (which has a great Foodland, butcher and bottle shop). Plus there are plenty of foodie and wine options to discover in the region. We offer different options, some sites have water and power (and access to the pool) and others are more remote, fully self-sufficient spots. Many sites have a campfire space (not available during the summer fire ban months). Pets are welcome off-leash, so long as they remain under control and do not disturb the farm animals, keep them on leash if you aren't sure how they will behave around sheep and cattle. Also note we have 2 dogs here, and 3 cats, and other guests may have pets, so make sure your dog is dog-friendly, or else keep them leashed at all times.

The Scrub Campsite

Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail. This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 11 bespoke sites available but only 8 sites are offered at any one time so campers can have their privacy. The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle. We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, cars, rooftop tents, tents and swags (sorry, no large caravans). During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Some firewood is supplied for you. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period. Due to the predicted 2023 /2024 high fire season, NO campfires will be allowed during the fire ban season - NOVEMBER 15 to APRIL 29. All bookings will be be cancelled if severe or catastrophic fire conditions are forecast. A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available. A composting toilet is available as is a solar and rocket shower system. Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located 1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite. Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away. The Scrub Campsite was honored to have won 3rd place for best campsite in South Australia for 2023. All campers are to respect other campers and the land that they are camping on. Overview

From coastal walks and beach getaways to wine tasting in the Adelaide Hills or the wild desert plains of the Outback—Adelaide has all of it on its doorstep, and campers have plenty of options, too. Check into a luxury caravan park within a short drive of the city, bed down in a retro caravan and enjoy a BBQ around the campfire, or pitch your tent near Eden Valley vineyards. Adelaide is also well situated for exploring South Australia’s national parks, where campers can get back to nature at bush camping sites.

Fleurieu Peninsula

Stretching south of Adelaide, the Fleurieu Peninsula has beachfront walking trails, surf breaks, and quiet camping spots within a 1.5-hour drive of Adelaide. Sip Shiraz in the McLaren Vale wine region; head to the beach towns of Southport, Boomer Beach, and Waitpinga; or drive over to Kangaroo Island to spot wild kangaroos, koalas, fur seals, and little penguins.

Barossa Valley

Lush vines, stone villages, and some 150 wineries make the Barossa Valley one of Australia’s best wine regions. Just over an hour from Adelaide CBD, it’s an escape from urban life, where you can bike through the countryside, float over the vineyards in a hot air balloon, or try farm-to-table cuisine before checking into a campsite.

Yorke Peninsula

Northwest of Adelaide, the Yorke Peninsula curls its way around the St. Vincent Gulf, clocking up more than 700 kilometres of coves, beaches, and headlands. Just a 2-hour drive from the city, you can hike Innes National Park, play a game of golf, snorkel the Windara Reef, or go swimming, surfing, and fishing along the coast.

When to go

Summertime (December through February) is Adelaide’s busiest period, when crowds descend on the city to enjoy its summer festivals. To avoid peak season, the best camping times are spring (September through November) and autumn (March through May), when the weather is typically warm and dry—ideal for hiking, road tripping, and outdoor activities. Springtime is also best for wildlife watching, when baby kangaroos are often seen roaming the bushlands of Kangaroo Island.

Know before you go

Having your own vehicle is a big plus around Adelaide—public transport is limited in the surrounding areas.
Fire bans are common during summer and dry periods, so be sure to check local recommendations before lighting your campfire.
Adelaide Central Market is one of the largest in the country and a great spot to pick up picnic supplies and fresh produce.
