You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there, the pond is about 40 meters from our house, no fishing in the pond), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more!

It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford.
O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes.
By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door.
It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much.
Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing.
A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’?
‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day.
Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three.
Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention.
People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’.
Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy.
Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it.
Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two.
In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’!
After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was…and as they say, the rest is future.

Located in the hamlet of Mosborough on 113 acres, this is a working farm with open fields, an old orchard, and 27 acres of forest.
We are a short drive to Guelph Lake, the Elora Gorge, Guelph to Goderich rail trail, and a 25-minute drive to St Jacob's farmers market. And a 1.4 km walk to a small country market and bakery. A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.
We have 3 campsites that are spread out on 4 acres of grass. 1 site is used for temporary summer trailers, 2 are for camping. Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden.
A portable toilet is available from May 15 to the end of thanksgiving weekend in October. And please note that we are located beside an active rail line that is used by the Go Train, VIA Rail and freighters, there are trains that pass throughout the night.
A 2 night stay is required for summer weekends.

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

We didn't end up going to the location after booking it for a night because of snow but Nancy was flexible enough to provide us refund. She from her own told us its ok if you don't come over even on the day of the booking. This shows that she has some values. We will try and go over to her location anytime soon. It truly is a " Hidden Oasis " . I really appreciated the quick response back from Laura
to my inquiries and too the suggestions she gave for things we could do in the area
during our stay. The setting could not have been nicer with large mature trees, a pond you could walk around and large clearing to gaze the stars at night fall. Comments already made about the large fire pit & welcoming large compositing outhouse and paddle boat (s) by the pond edge. Our boating Cat was absolutely

2 nights at Forest Cabin
Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!

5/5 Stars. Truly remarkable
David’s land was extremely peaceful and easily accessible. What stood out the most was how quiet and private it felt; you could actually relax and hear nature around you. The property was well kept, and the host was friendly and responsive. There’s plenty of open space for camping, a nice fire pit area, and great views (especially at sunset). Perfect spot if you’re looking to unplug for a bit.
Not a Negative, however, this property appears to have high activity of coyotes, located approximately 50 - 100 feet away from Site 2. Coyotes are fairly timid and gutless animals but be cautious if bringing pets and or little ones, as the cries and howls can be a bit overwhelming. Coins in a can is a must-have to startle them peacefully.

Beautiful location! The host is very hospitable. There is electricity and water hookups. You can bring your rv or tent! There is a little river to canoe or paddle boat on. There are trails to walk all around the property! Overall great time will be back next year for a longer visit! One note, if you're bringing an animal make sure you clean their paws lol the ground has sand mixed with grass.

This was a great location, really beautiful spot. It's secluded and quiet and they included some firewood to start which was really nice.
The pond was smaller than expected, and we were hoping it had some fish but I think there was only 1 or two smaller fish in there. They have a paddleboat there which was nice and a small floating dock.
Grass was cut very well and property maintained well, the drive in was pleasant. Instructions were sent clearly. Bathroom was clean and it was nice that they were selling firewood for a really affordable price.

About
With many interpretive programs and amenities near ravines and marshland, Bronte Creek Provincial Park combines convenience with the outdoors. Separated by Bronte Creek, the day-use areas and campground are separate—the east site has a huge day-use area with a 1.8-acre pool, playground, and playbarn, while the campground side, open from April to October, has 400+ roomy sites. Visitors can enjoy disc golf or hiking one of the four hiking trails through the Bronte Creek Valley in summer and tobogganing, cross-country-skiing, and snowshoeing near the ravine in winter. The Spruce Lane Farm House is a living history museum demonstrating early farm life including live farm animals.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for ravine exploring: It’s easy to dip your toes into the creek from nearby Woodland and Ravine campgrounds. Ravine sites also have more privacy than the rest.
- Best for groups: If you’re here for a large family gathering, the Prairie Campground is closest to the group camping, as well as the camp store and off-leash dog trail.
- Best for larger RVs: The Prairie loop is created to fit larger RVs but is suitable for tents and smaller RVs as well.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Mid-week is less busy during the summer months.
- Holiday weekends are busy, so book on shoulder season or midweek for less competition.
- Online bookings open five months in advance at 7am. Have alternate sites ready in case yours are taken.
When to go
Located near apple orchards, Bronte Creek is great to visit in fall for the colours and quieter off-season. Spring is a great time to catch sight of the hundreds of owls, merlin, and hawks in the park, and even better, springtime is when most of the farmstead’s baby animals are born. The large day-use area opposite of the campground is open year-round.
Know before you go
- RV electrical outlets can be far from the RV—bring a long extension cord.
- If planning to hike, bring some water-resistant boots and rain gear, as trails are notoriously muddy and slippery in spring. The ravine is deep at points (up to 50 metres straight down) so wear proper shoes and tread carefully.
- Bring bikes to zoom around the campground on the crushed gravel road.
- Bronte has two leash-free dog areas: one half-kilometre loop in the day-use area and a two-kilometre loop at the north section of the campground.
