Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Crowdy Bay National Park adventure.
Camp between the bush and the beach in this coastal national park.
Crowdy Bay National Park has the best of both worlds. Along the coast, swim and surf at the sandy beaches, or hike along the rocky headland of Diamond Head for ocean views. Inland, follow scenic bushwalking trails through the rainforest, admire colorful wild orchids and Christmas bells in the dunes, or go fishing along the creek. Wildlife-watching opportunities are plentiful, too—spot koalas and bowerbirds in the trees, look out for dolphins and migrating whales along the shore, and see kangaroos hopping through the bush. Pack a picnic to enjoy by the beachside, then pitch your tent beneath the trees.
With its subtropical climate, Crowdy Bay is a year-round spot for swimming and outdoor activities. Summer temperatures can climb over 30°C, so come prepared, especially if you plan to hike—an early start is recommended. Wildflowers blanket the landscapes in spring, while the late-blooming Christmas Bells are most vibrant around the holiday season. May to November is the time to spot humpback whales on their annual migration.
A scenic headland bordered by two pristine beaches, Crowdy Head boasts panoramic views over the ocean and an excellent vantage point of the Three Brothers Mountains.
