This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. You are welcome to explore the grounds and enjoy the land. Chickens roam freely, with the occasional pig sightings in the evening. We do have a fair bit of bugs and geckos. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, this might not be the place for you! Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. There are so many great beach and land activities nearby, and I'm happy to lead you in the direction of whatever you might be interested in! We are very protective of this land and town, but would love to share the space with respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. This is a working farm. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Every day I got to wake up and go to the beach just minutes away from home, or my cousins and I would have a fishing contest to see who could catch the most fish. We would also go paddling up the river to lay nets down to catch some ono (delicious) crab for dinner. Nothing like living the true local style, which is the same experience I want you to have. Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. There are martial arts classes occurring on the property mon-fri until about 9-930 pm, so if you see some lights and people as you enter do not worry. As there will likely not be someone physically there, we have made detailed self check in instructions on a Google Doc ! A hidden gem for anyone looking for a safe, secluded place to camp on the most tropical side of Oahu! Check in time will be after 4 pm, and a link will be provided for arrival instructions and gate code. We have fixed arrival procedures and have clearly labeled signage to ensure you find your campsite! There will not usually be someone physically present to check you in so we have made Google Doc instructions for arrival and finding the bathrooms!
