Check out the area of glade rock forest on the southern portion of the property but remember, this is nature! Dangers abound including high cliffs, loose and large rocks not to mention various animals including skunks and snakes among others! Hike at your own risk! You won't find another camping area like this, 5 minutes to Calico Rock (Stores and restaurants) with so much to do and see in the area, hiking trails, Gunner Pool and Blanchard caverns, since we are surrounded by the Ozark National Forest! Not to mention, world-class trout fishing or kayaking just 5 minutes away in the famous White River! Only 25 minutes to 2 Norfork Lake entrances, too! We now have a nice, new clean outhouse as well as offering a generous pile of firewood for just $10! More amenities like picnic tables are coming. You are free to explore the entire property (At your own risk) but I ask that you respect our privacy and avoid going close to our house and if we have any farm animals, please do not disturb them. Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. Learn more about this land: Nice, private, shady. Easy to get to from Hwy. 56. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for it’s trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.)

There are 11 full-service campgrounds surrounding the lake and four more primitive getaways. Hiking trails connect many of the campgrounds and will take you around the lake or deep into the forest.
