We purchased this property in 1990, with no home or buildings on it. The trees were so little you could see OVER them!! We’ve since built our home and life here, as well as raised our family. We think our little corner of the world is perfect and just want to share it with others!!Nestled deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota, this camp site is sure to be a relaxing retreat!! Where "networking" is two pickups parked in the middle of the road so that their drivers can visit. Where we go grocery shopping in the woods during the fall. Where "neighbors" might live two hours away or just down the road. Where directions are given in "north and south" instead of "right and left". Life's a little slower, people a little more sincere and a handshake still means something! PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TENT CAMPING: I don't have any shower or bathroom facilities. The closest place I know of is the Conoco a mile north of my place on Cleveland St. They have a truck stop and I'm told the shower is nice. There is a chance I won't be on site to greet you, but so far everyone has been incredibly respectful and found some great places to put up a tent. I trust you!

It's the wilderness for sure. This was our third stop in a drive across the country and I thought it was quite enjoyable. The place was easy to access and had plenty of places to setup camp. If you're pulling a trailer it seemed as if there was just one place big enough to turn around and I wasn't gonna gamble and drive deeper into the property to find out if that's true or not, lol. Would visit again.

It is a quiet place to camp with a nice view. The owner is pleasant to talk with. If you blink you miss the drive which is kind of steep. Someday he will have the septic completed and it will be full hookup at some of his rv sites. Pleasantly located on the side of Sundance.

4 nights at Luxury RV Canyon Retreat

We reserved the camper site for a long weekend in September and loved our site. They are right near the entrance to Spearfish canyon and it is beautiful there. June was super responsive to all of our questions which was great. It is very peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. The site is concrete and there is water hookup which we loved. We have a 26ft camper and recommend backing the camper in for the smoothest transition. If we decide to come back to the Black Hills we would stay here again.

Just off I-90 in Sundance, Wyoming. 30 minutes from Devil’s Tower and close to Rapid City. Nestled back in the hills, with electricity, but no water or toilet. However, this wasn’t a problem since we had our own. We received good directions and had no trouble finding the place. There is a nice, long driveway to walk with no traffic. We never met the host, but had a nice stay.

We camped there with our 25 ft RV. Nice and clean site. Very peaceful and private. Enjoyed not being in a big camp site. Site is right at the entrance to Spearfish Canyon. Would definitely stay there again. Slab is not level due to drainage reasons. Be prepared to level out RV.

First, Laura is an excellent host. Great communication throughout. Her husband even sent a site location map before my arrival. This was extremely helpful finding where i was supposed to be. It also helped understand where to enter the property as the site seems to have a geocode versus physical address. All in all, I was able to get settled in about 10 minutes which is a personal best 🤣 The location is situated in a beautiful area, off the beaten path - literally. It's excellently maintained with water and electricity easily available. Unlike every site I've been to, the hosts actually provided an adaptor for those not prepared (I was but there was a time...) The only minor things I'd do differently or change are: 1.) I'd is choose one of the other 2 sites (which were available). Both are more open than the one I had which is near a building (albeit a very slick black garage). 2.) I had to be careful walking my dogs, even though on leashes, due to the electric fencing (which I understand the need for).. in a perfect world, there'd be a place to walk them less stressfully...minor. Overall this is great place and clear why its so highly rated.

Would highly recommend Daniel’s Hipcamp, The Wilderness! If you’re looking for something away from the crowds of Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood and all the other sights of the Blackhills, this is it! There are still trails close by but the campsite is in an amazing spot with great views. Loved our time there!
