The Tiny House is a mostly off-grid cabin tucked into the Driftless Hills of southwest Wisconsin. We are about 5 miles west of La Farge and 10 miles east of Viroqua. Nestled in the woods, the space offers peace, quiet, and a chance to reconnect with nature. The property is private, and our homes are within 75 yards of the tiny house. You’ll have your own yard and space, but it is not completely isolated. The tiny house sleeps 2–4 people comfortably, with room for an additional tent in the yard. The maximum occupancy for the site (tiny house and tent) is 6 people total. The tiny house is fully furnished with queen mattress, futon, plates, cups, etc~ just bring your own food and bedding (blankets and pillows)!
Outside, enjoy a fire pit, a small grill, and the quiet beauty of the surrounding landscape. We have three friendly outdoor cats who may come by to say hello. They love people and food, so please be mindful of not feeding them and keeping a close eye on your meals if you choose to eat outside.
The tiny house includes electricity, a full refrigerator, and a stovetop with oven. While there is no running water inside, fresh water is available just steps away for drinking and washing up. We also provide an outdoor, chemical-free porta potty.
We are located across the street from Otter Creek, a popular trout fishing stream. Within a few miles, you’ll find additional fishing, hiking trails, kayaking and canoeing access, farmers markets, Amish shops, and a vibrant mix of local organic food, arts, and handmade goods.
We’ll meet briefly at the start of your stay to go over the space, and afterward, you’ll have full freedom to enjoy the land and your own rhythm. I’m happy to say hello if we’re around or to answer any questions, but I also value my privacy.
We kindly ask that there be no excessive alcohol or drug abuse on the property. You will be asked to leave if these rules are not respected.

Weekend Trip to Bear Hill
We had a wonderful time glamping in the Love Shack! The weather was hot, then rainy most of the weekend unfortunately so we didn’t get to spend as much time at the property as we wanted to. It was great to be 15 min from the Dells, so we took advantage of that more than anticipated. The Love Shack has A/C which was amazing. The setting is peaceful, and we loved getting to hang out with the goats - shoutout to George. Sheri and Kevin were fantastic hosts, making sure we had everything we needed and offering help. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great hosts and a bit of country charm, this place is definitely worth considering!

Weekend Trip to Bear Hill
My girlfriends and I had a great time! Kevin and Sheri were so friendly. The love shack was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. Our dogs loved running around the property. Nice get away from the dells which is only a 15 minute drive.

Weekend Trip to Bear Hill
Amazing experience!! Sheri and Kevin were wonderful hosts, they checked in and made sure we had what we needed and answered any questions we had. They have pretty much everything you could think of related to camping activities and necessities. From board games to a fire tripod for cooking to firewood and lawn chairs. Really took the stress out of the experience for us. Their goats are so cute and friendly too! We really enjoyed the little hot tub and how cozy the cabin is. The location is great, it feels very private and secluded but it’s only about 10-15 minutes from the main area of the Dells and a Walmart. Sheri made sure to let us know that they were flexible with check out times, and they were overall very accommodating hosts! Would happily come stay here again!

Man we had a great time! Our trip was slightly different from most of the reviews, we had a fairly packed itinerary family vacation and used bear hill as our home base, we were out and about most of the time and *even* still we loved the hospitality and ended up wishing we had planned down time to hang out. Extremely nice people when we did manage to find some time to talk. They were also wonderful at just giving us our space and making the whole thing feel very private and safe while still being accessible (via phone) if we needed anything.
*EVERYTHING* IS PROVIDED, from sheets/comforters, soap, dishes and cookware, to bug spray, hell they even had toys and glow sticks for our kiddo. Honestly we over packed quite a bit as a precaution but genuinely you could bring only clothes and food and be set, they went out of their way to provide all the supplies and conveniences.
15m drive to the dells, and as a bonus you get to turn north on highway 12/I-90alt and immediately leave the traffic behind 🤌 Don't trust Google maps for the address, follow their instructions.

We enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Cabin. The area was beautiful and it was easy to find. The road up to the cabin was doable with AWD. Sarah and her husband were very responsive and helpful during our stay. The cabin is very nice, cozy, and quiet. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a window AC unit as it in the 90s when we arrived and my dog was able to cool off.

Great weekend away with my hubby and dog. You can hear the quaint sounds of cows and an occasional horse grazing in the field right next to the camping spots, as well as the periodic clip clip clip of Amish buggies strolling down a distant road. There were a couple of friendly farm cats that came to visit us as well. This place is as the title name says- “Peaceful”. We met Jon upon arrival and he was very welcoming and informative regarding the site and the nearby towns. We appreciated the privacy he gave us afterwards, as we are more introverted. It was the perfect balance for us, but I’m sure if some are more social he would be happy to engage and be of any needed help to others as well. One thing to mention would be that there are two campsites. The Windmill one we booked was first from the parking spot, and there is a pathway that passes that camping spot and goes past the shared compost outhouse that leads to the other camp spot. We got lucky and the second one wasn’t booked during out stay, but had it been, it might have been a bit uncomfortable with people inevitably walking back and forth to their vehicle or even just the outhouse. Just something for others to consider when booking. These two sites would be perfect for a bigger family or friends to book together though!! Would love to return sometime and would highly recommend.

Truly a peaceful spot! We come to this area a couple times a year for the fantastic gravel biking. This campsite has great sunset views, perfect area for dog to explore and run around (neighbor's pasture has barbed wire, which is enough to deter our dog), nice fire pit, super clean outhouse. Two things that might not be clear from the listing: 1) Apple Maps and Google Maps treated this address differently (between my phone and husband's, at least), but when I typed exactly the address in the listing into Google Maps, it worked. The spur of this road that leads to Jon's land turns to dirt sooner than you might expect. 2) water is available on the property for a fee. You can easily fill up in Viroqua if your own supply runs dry!
