We began operating our 150 acre farm in 2011 and became the first Certified Naturally Grown Livestock farm in West Virginia in 2013. We raise 100% grass-fed beef, Western and Chinese medicinal herbs. Our family garden supplies more than half of our vegetables and our favorite berries, and our flock of chickens supply eggs and an early morning wake-up call for our campers! There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm.
We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest. We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away. Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore within 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.We welcome campers of all kinds!

The camp site was beautiful and spacious for four people. The compost toilet was in good condition although the temps were too cold for the showers. Jennifer had plenty of wood for purchase and we had a great time with the farm dog, although he can be nosey at night and is a good reminder to pack up all food and food items well and securely when camping. We would definitely return!

It was great to camp at possum tail. Rain moved in while I was there, but I had a great view of storms coming across the mountains in the distance. Bishop the big friendly farm dog dog stopped by a couple of times. He was well trained and a good watch dog at night, which was a bonus in this remote area.

This was our second stay at this campsite. Both times we've had a blast. The camp hosts are very friendly and accomodating, including Bishop the farm dog.
This time we brought two kids who had two kids who had never been camping before, and it was the perfect place to introduce them to it.

The plot is pretty much what everyone else has said and described. Very basic but the campsite area is clean which we appreciated very much.
Jennifer and her husband were very accommodating with what we needed to set up our SUV tent. Like Jennifer said the view of the sunset was beautiful and we loved seeing the cows, hearing the frogs and knowing that Bishop the dog had us "safe" over night ;)
We ended up having to leave one night early and again Jennifer made sure we got looked after so as hosts I would give them 5 stars out of 5!

Jennifer was very warm and kind and immediately ready for us upon our arrival. The campsite is very large and private, and the compost potty is a very neat idea! We got rained out unfortunately, but it was overall a very great experience and I would recommend it to anyone! Bishop the big goofy lovey dog was a wonderful surprise as well!!!
