We began operating our 150 acre farm in 2011 and became the first Certified Naturally Grown Livestock farm in West Virginia in 2013. We raise 100% grass-fed beef, Western and Chinese medicinal herbs. Our family garden supplies more than half of our vegetables and our favorite berries, and our flock of chickens supply eggs and an early morning wake-up call for our campers! There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm. We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest. We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away. Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore within 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.We welcome campers of all kinds!

Nearby within 20 minutes is a small food store and restaurant. My husband and I are from the flat land of the Eastern Shore of MD, we did alot of camping and Hiking in the mountains. We loved it so much we decided to list the MD property and moved to the mountains of WV. The peace, quiet and ambiance of the area is what brought us here. The wildlife is amazing, the mountains are amazing and so are the people. The saying Almost Heaven WV is true!! Learn more about this land:Unplug from the world can be great for the mind, soul and body, a change to recharge and relax in peace and quiet. Located on a 100acre farm with horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and Geese and abundance of wildlife with beautiful mountainous hiking trails throughout. This cabin has no electric but does have solar lighting and a propane wall heater for chilly nights. It has a queen size bed and a queen size futon, water dispenser and a huge fire-pit to cook on. There is a johnny on the spot and a portable shelter with a solar sun shower. Just bring your essentials, a cooler of food/beverages and a camera to capture the memories and leave your worries behind. Horses are welcome for a small fees so hook up your trailer. The area has many parks, rivers and trails for : Fly fishing, kayaking, Biking, Hiking,Horseback Riding, bird watching & Photography, etc. Attractions include: The Greenbrier river trial (77 miles long) , Droop Mountain, Beartown park, Greenbrier State park, Farmers Markets, The West Virginia State fair, Antique shopping, Flea Markets, Lost Work Cavern and Organ Cave, Historic Museum, and local Breweries and Wineries. There are Covered Bridges and just beautiful country drives. Downtown Lewisburg only 4 miles away offers fine dining, pubs, shopping, theater, First Friday events and many festivals throughout the year. Come see What WV "The Wild and Wonderful " has to offer.. This is a working farm. The heart of the farm are our Scottish Highlander cattle! Guest love to sit for hours watching the cattle graze and are amazed at how docile the cattle are. We also raise goats and have horses, donkeys, sheep, chickens and peafowl that you may see roaming around the farm. We love sharing our farm and farm animals with other people. Most animals are in their pasture and guest are welcome to enjoy the animals from outside the fences. We think you will love the beauty of the farm as much as we do. We love all animals and we welcome your pets but we ask that they remain on leash to protect the farms animals and to protect your pets. We have seen coyotes, fox and hawks at times.
