Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Weekend Trip to Hidden Acres Orchards

This was a fun experience! We go to Hidden Acres for u-pick every year and never thought to camp there. So happy we did this time! Our kiddos and pups (on-leash of course; pups not kids!) loved exploring the orchards by moonlight, waking up with the animals in the crisp morning, and slept so well in the country air. Because we could pick our spot, all the campers felt quite secluded and like we had the place to ourselves. Even though we had our own trailer having access to a real washroom and an outside shower was a treat. Thanks to the whole team at Hidden Acres for giving us an experience that we come back for every year!

We love the lack of marked sites - just find your patch of land away from others and settle in. You can choose orchard or pumpkin field vibes. The farm store is great, with lots of great artisan foods. Try the breakfast pastries! In the fall the apples are amazing. On a school day you might see a field trip of kids in the play areas or stomping through the fields looking for pumpkins. A few other things: Cell service (we're AT&T) was sometimes okay for streaming, but sometimes switched to a band with no data. It was better at night. The shower is outdoors, open to the sky. Plenty of hot water. The handles are reversed - hot is on the right. Five bucks is a bit steep for a shower, but when you've been boondocking a while, it can be worth it. If you need more water, you can fill containers at an outdoor sink near the store. Across the road from the entrance is The Big Barn, a brewery with good beer, food truck, and live music out on the lawn. Nice atmosphere - we went two afternoons in a row.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Acres Orchards

As a mom who often camps alone with the kids, I’m particular about where we will stay. Hidden Acres felt very safe, welcoming, and the kids loved the little playground area. I appreciated that staff were always a short walk away and being that they live on the property, I felt confident I could easily call if needed. The highlight of our visit was the kids being able to run around in the orchard rows and open spaces without disturbing others. Also, the ducks were a favorite! We probably won’t make it back this fall, but the kids are already asking to come back next summer.

We stayed here last year and my wife wants it to be a yearly tradition. It's a beautiful orchard that lets you camp in many different locations. They've got bathrooms near their shop, and showers you can buy. The farm is right across the street from Big Barn Brewing, and it has a coffee/snack stand for the mornings. My wife loved the pumpkin waffles!

I was in town for an event. Coyote Flats is a roomy, quiet, flat spot that was perfect for my dogs and I to hang out in the mornings and evenings. While I didn’t see any coyote, there were plenty of deer and turkeys nearby. Highly recommend this spot.

I was passing through and needed a last-minute spot to spend the night — this was a great choice! Easy to find, quiet, and perfect for a good night’s rest. Waking up next to the apple trees was amazing. This city boy and his dog really enjoyed it.
