The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. Thank you for an amazing 2025 season. We will see you back in the spring of 2026. Book your events and campouts now before the season fills up! We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

Eight minutes off SR 18 lies 11 acres of mostly undeveloped land. Dean's is a beautiful, bare-bones place to rest. Our main driveway is CLOSED this year for repairs. We have alternate arrival instructions for you after you book. These instructions add about 7 minutes (totaling 8 minutes) from SR 18 to the campground. Our location is convenient. We are just minutes from Auburn city limits. Road noise, planes, Pacific Raceways, and freight trains are audible here even if muffled by the trees. Our distant neighbors occasionally indulge in target shooting. We have a brand new neighborhood in construction on one of our property lines. In order to provide safety and peace, hosts live just outside the campground and closely manage happenings. All our sites have 2-4 persons occupancy in hopes of deterring parties. Our quiet hours are 8pm-8am so we can rest up for the next day’s adventures. Propane stoves are welcome during fire bans. We do not have a check in cut-off time. Reservations do need to be made before midnight. We have zero tolerance for hateful, abusive, or discriminatory behavior toward people, belongings, and wildlife. The 40+ year old trees and distance between the campsites provides space for you to bring and create your own vibes. Hosts should only approach you with safety or quiet hour concerns. They are available by phone 24 / 7 for any questions or requests you may have, and available by message 11am to 3am. Feel free to reach out any time. Our phone number can be found on Google.

There is one close to the communal kitchen area, one closer to the field by the barn, and we have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed. -WIFI is available closer to the communal area. LOCATION: 2 miles from downtown Buckley with Blue Max Meats and the Rainier Fresh Country Store for a quick trip down the road for groceries and less than 15 minute drive to Enumclaw with more restaurant options available and Bonney Lake also 15 minutes away with Costco, Fred Meyers etc.

The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Eight minutes off SR 18 lies 11 acres of mostly undeveloped land. Dean's is a beautiful, bare-bones place to rest. Our main driveway is CLOSED this year for repairs. We have alternate arrival instructions for you after you book. These instructions add about 7 minutes (totaling 8 minutes) from SR 18 to the campground. Our location is convenient. We are just minutes from Auburn city limits. Road noise, planes, Pacific Raceways, and freight trains are audible here even if muffled by the trees. Our distant neighbors occasionally indulge in target shooting. We have a brand new neighborhood in construction on one of our property lines. In order to provide safety and peace, hosts live just outside the campground and closely manage happenings. All our sites have 2-4 persons occupancy in hopes of deterring parties. Our quiet hours are 8pm-8am so we can rest up for the next day’s adventures. Propane stoves are welcome during fire bans. We do not have a check in cut-off time. Reservations do need to be made before midnight. We have zero tolerance for hateful, abusive, or discriminatory behavior toward people, belongings, and wildlife. The 40+ year old trees and distance between the campsites provides space for you to bring and create your own vibes. Hosts should only approach you with safety or quiet hour concerns. Our 2 French Bulldogs also stay in this building but they love humans and all the attention you can give them! -We have a wellness yurt with well equipped gym that is available to use as an add-on. -There is an infrared sauna that can sit up to 3 people located next to the yurt accompanied by a cold plunge as an add-on. -You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast. -Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, piggy, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending 21 miles from Buckley to Puyallup. -Communal fire pit areas with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. There is one close to the communal kitchen area, one closer to the field by the barn, and we have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed. -WIFI is available closer to the communal area. LOCATION: 2 miles from downtown Buckley with Blue Max Meats and the Rainier Fresh Country Store for a quick trip down the road for groceries and less than 15 minute drive to Enumclaw with more restaurant options available and Bonney Lake also 15 minutes away with Costco, Fred Meyers etc.

This is such a special place! The Wanderbus was cozy and quirky and perfect. More than warm enough and Louis the Third is an immaculate toilet. I took advantage of the hot tub both nights and it’s such a great perk. Definitely try the tangerine essential oil stay with it! I came to take pictures and get some quiet reading time and it didn’t disappoint. I would recommend it so highly (as long as you don’t book when I want to come back!)

Gary was so attentive and welcoming! Even though I came during a rainy time, the land was beautiful and whimsical. The staff there were all so accommodating and helped with anything I needed (firewood, the hot tub, heaters). The community kitchen was sooo much fun to use and the shower was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see the bunnies and chickens as well as see how hard the staff work to create more fun amenities for the future. Gary mills the wood himself and you can see how all of the structures are such a labor of love!

If you like to camp in the winter, like to take your dog, and want a roof with a heater over your head, this is perfect! It was a perfect island adventure. Fred's special touches included easy access pottable water and dishwashing sink on the porch of the cabin, a clean/neat outhouse, a bug flap, heater, microwave, fridge, and COOKIES! We walked down to the beach, took a couple trips to beautiful parks, and enjoyed the views of the water from the cabin. We brought a tent/shelter and put it up for an extra "room" to enjoy the views and grilled cheese/tomato soup, hot cider, and apple crisp. We heard coyotes howling in the distance, owls hooting, saw deer, coyotes, and river otters. We truly had an island adventure we will always cherish and remember. Thank you Fred for providing us this opportunity!!

The cabin was larger than I expected! You enter into a large room with the main bed (bedding included), pullout couch, armchair and fireplace. Then there is the kitchen area with a good size dining table. Bathroom is right off the kitchen. No shower but that didn't bother us. Basic amenities for the kitchen is all provided and there are plenty of extra blankets. Just a PSA, your door code will be sent 30 minutes before the check in, we found ourselves worrying as the time got closer and closer!

Weekend Trip to Hairy Eagle Lookout 🦅
This was a lovely place to camp with an incredible view! Level parking for our 25 foot trailer. There is some slight highway 101 noise, but nothing that would keep us from returning. It was a misty weekend, so we hunkered in most of the time. The clouds amongst the trees made for a beautiful view. We enjoyed going into the very small town to the Tipsy Whale for nice cider and beers. Mostly, we toured around and enjoyed the sea lions, seals, and many birds.

We are fortunate to live here, and we want to share the beauty with you. Please stay here and take a moment free of worry and free of hurry. About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you. About the site: This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost. The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils. The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart. The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience. A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake. If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder. (Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach. Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away. A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. Union was even listed in the top 10 "Prettiest Towns in America" in Forbes Magazine in 2009! Learn more about this land: One of a kind view of the Skokomish Estuary and Olympic Mountains. We are located just outside Duvall, WA. Our Dome features one Queen size bed and one couch that converts to a bed (slightly smaller than a queen). Premium linens, extra blankets, comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the quiet on the farm. There is a sheltered kitchen with hot and cold running water, cook burner, refrigerator and seating with a portable firepit. There is also a nearby fire ring with comfortable chairs to relax in the evening.
