Misty Meadows Adventures Mt.Rainier

3 sites · RVs, Tents12 acres · Mineral, WA
Perfect basecamp when visiting Mount Rainier! Come and stay on our small homestead and honeybee farm in Mineral, Washington. Located right on State Route 7, with easy access, we are 2 hours south of Seattle, a little over 2.5 hours north of Portland, and 2.5 hours west of Yakima. And minutes from Mount Rainier National Park, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and Elbe Hills and Tahoma State Forests. We are a small homestead and apiary (honey bee farm) tucked beneath Mount Rainier in the beautiful PNW where on a clear day you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the mountain. We offer 3 campsites** in an open field where it’s not unusual to see elk or deer in the early morning hours or to see ducks, geese and other waterfowl enjoying our pond or hear our resident frogs serenading you in the evenings. There are wildflowers to enjoy, bees and other pollinators to photograph, and on clear nights, the star gazing is amazing - bring your telescope if you've got one! Our property is adjacent to National Forest Land, perfect for hiking, foraging, and hunting. We are located 5 minutes from Mineral Lake - home of the 10 pound trout, ideal for the avid fisherman, boater, kayaker or all around water enthusiast, 5 miles from Alder Lake, 10 miles from the quaint town of Ashford, and we are only 15 miles from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Our Campsites are "no frills” - dry camping/boondocking without many amenities. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided. Absolutely no cat holes! **Camp Site Sizes: • Camp Site #1 - large enough for two RV’s and/or four-six 6-person tents. • Camp Site # 2 - large enough for one RV and/or four-six person tents. & one hammock • Camp Site 3 - large enough for two 6-person tents. This site is the most private, however it does not have a direct view of Mount Rainier. Water is NOT available at the camp sites but there are potable water facets elsewhere on the property and a bucket provided to transport water. Electricity is NOT available, however, generators are permitted. WiFi is NOT available, however Verizon and T-Mobile customers may find they have cell service on and around our property. BEES!!! This is a working “bee farm”. If you are allergic to bees, think you might be allergic to bees or are afraid of bees, you may want to look at other listings. We enjoy sharing our love of bees. If you’d like to learn more, you can even purchase a “beekeeping mini class/demonstration”, payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive depending on the season. PETS - They must remain on a leash and in your control at all times and please pick up after them. LIVESTOCK - We have Chickens & Turkeys. The turkeys will greet you with you with friendly gobbles and clucks when you arrive and a our rooster can seem rather vociferous as he announces each new day earlier than we expect. AND last year we added two adorable calves, Blondie and Munchie that would love for you to visit and feed them grain! When available, fresh eggs and local honey available for purchase payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive. If you need gifts for the folks back home or souvenirs from your adventure, we may also have a selection of our soaps, honey in glass bottles, honey suckers and other “honey bee” related items available -- just ask us and we’d be happy to show you our stock. Summer of 2023 we will be offering soap making & salve/balm making workshops! CHECK IN is 2pm until dark. Guests are greeted upon arrival. Perfect for solo campers, small groups or even a family reunion!

Wilderness Path

5 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · Ashford, WA
Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

Private RV parking near Mt Rainier

1 site · RV1 acre · Packwood, WA
You've found the best RV parking in Packwood, Washington at the base of Mt Rainier. Enjoy nearly an acre of quiet, old growth, tranquil, forest to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Leave behind the congested RV park and experience a unique and tranquil oasis of natural beauty. Pick between two RV parking spots, with septic, 30 amp electric and water. Enjoy your own fire pit, a covered picnic shelter with lighting, horseshoe pits and a covered porch with a swing. Access the property with a U-shaped, pull-through drive, or simply back in/out. The property is located at the dead end of a road with a large, paved cul de sac for easy turning . You'll be centrally located to the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer: Mt. Rainier National Park (12 miles to the Stevens Canyon entrance and 28 miles to the Nisqually entrance in the summer....longer in the winter), White Pass (including the ski resort and the Pacific Crest Trail), the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, the Cowlitz River, Packwood Lake, and endless hiking trails. Looking for more? You're also not far from Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. While you feel like you've stepped away from it all, you're still just a few miles away from the amenities of Packwood, including shopping, restaurants, gas, etc. Fall asleep to the soft sounds of nearby Butter Creek, and wake up to fresh forest air. Spend your days exploring what makes the Pacific Northwest so amazing, and relax at night gathering around the large fire pit or enjoying time together under the covered picnic shelter. A second RV is allowed for an additional fee (contact owner), though electrical service is only available for one RV (septic and water available for two). One tent is allowed provided it is accompanied by a fully contained RV with a bathroom. The maximum occupancy is 6 persons regardless of the number of RV's or if a tent is used. Some guess have reported that using slide outs leaves little to no room to walk past the slide outs without having to walk off the driveway; if your vehicle has slide outs this may not be an ideal location for your vacation. (note: there is a small residence on the property, which will be vacant during your stay; you are free to use the covered porch area and the porch swing).

Rainier Hideaway

This location is only a mile away from the Mount Rainier National Park entrance. There is usually traffic going towards the National Park on weekends during peak season (July-August), so we encourage everyone to leave the site by 9 am during those days if you are planning on heading into the park. There is a full service restaurant (WildBerry Restaurant) that offers both traditional American and select few Nepalese dishes right next to the camping site. There are also more restaurants, gas station, and a grocery store about 5 miles from the location. You may see some elk and deers on the property if you get lucky.

Ovis Aries Farm

4 sites · RVs, Tents29 acres · Mossyrock, WA
Nestled in beautiful Mossyrock, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains just off White Pass Scenic Byway in western Washington state, Ovis Aries Farm is less than a mile away from one of the best fishing holes in the state (Swofford Pond), and from Riffe Lake’s heavily-booked Mossyrock Campground. Our 20-acre property features densely-forested mountainside trails, a seasonal creek and pond, with a variety of hardwood and evergreen trees. Surrounded on three sides by Christmas tree farms, our farm is the last bit of wilderness left in the area. Only an hour from Mt. Ranier’s legendary winter sports, with hiking, fishing and festivals all both here and nearby, our farm provides a perfect Base Camp for your any-season getaway! We have two camping sites available, each with room for two groups. The BARN site has power and water and gravel parking, and are located by the big brown barn at the end of Naylor Road (at the "End of County Road" sign). The FIELD site is a one-acre open field with a gated entrance shortly after you turn onto Naylor Road (left side, before log cabin). Note that neither site is perfectly level, but is within the typical leveling ability of RVs at the size limits stated. The farm is located on a steep hillside; there is only so much we can do. But the stunning views more than make up for any inconvenience, in our experience. Ovis Aries is the scientific name for “domestic sheep”, and indeed, we raise Romney sheep of all colors on our farm! You may also meet our sweet and friendly Morgan Horse mare, Naya, who likes to follow visitors around like a very large dog. We also have a small orchard with apples, persimmons, cherries, blueberries, and a pear, peach and almond tree beside the barn. We farm using organic, no-till, permaculture, silvopasture and forest grazing practices, and the sheep are entirely grass-fed, producing meat of the healthiest-possible quality. If fiber arts is your jam, we have a beautiful wool workshop, with a 40" 4-shaft, 6-harness Louet Hollandia floor loom, a 32" Harp rigid heddle loom, 5 spinning wheels, a drum carder, and numerous other fiber tools for scouring, prepping, spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting and knitting wool. One on one and small group classes are available with reservations. We also have an Ender 3 Pro+ 3D printer available, and a business center, including fast StarLink Wi-Fi and all streaming services. Farm Tours are given on request.

Pleasant Places

3 sites · RVs, Tents14 acres · Onalaska, WA
Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, family reunions, workshops, or what have you. A rustic kitchen, two 6' dining tables, and a fire pit with accessories make setting up camp a cinch. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm there is something of interest for everyone here. If you're looking to explore the area a bit, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. In addition, we are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect 'meet in the middle' location. Locally, lakes Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes away, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing opportunities, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. At camp. you can pick a deer trail and walk through a budding new forest or pick a bunch of wild blackberries, apples, mushrooms, or flowers. Enjoy communing with our goat, rabbit, turkey, chicken, and duck friends. Other animals include deer, skunk, coyote, and possum—bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a playfield (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, bicycles or lawn darts too. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. If you do book, we are certain you’ll enjoy making Pleasant Places your outdoor home-away-from-home.
