Campsite #1
Close to National Park Entrance!
The campsite was very close to the Mount Rainier National Park entrance, which made it very convenient for us to get up early and explore the park. The campsite itself (spot #1) was tucked away from the road enough to provide some privacy from passerbys. However, the campground in general was very close to the roadway leading into the National Park, so expect traffic and traffic-related noise in the morning and through the day. At night, you can easily see stars above you while you enjoy a fire and eat at the picnic tables! The port-a-potty was clean and had ample toilet paper. The restaurant next door has firewood for sale for $5/bunch. They also had great food, and I recommend stopping in during your stay at the campground. Overall, it fit our needs and allowed us a close, convenient base camp to explore the National Park! We would stay here again!

Nice little spot really, really close to Mt Rainier Paradise entrance. Had some shade to set up in. Portapotty was clean. Restaurant next door was very good.

Campsite #4
Great for quick trips, not staying
Overall a decent experience. I’d consider it a no-brainer for a quick stay along a journey to the parks, but warrants more consideration if you intend on spending more than a couple hours awake on-site
Pros:
Drive-up check-in makes it easy
Convenience to Rainier park & Pinchot national forest, as well as general store down the road
Large enough campsites
Honey Bucket restroom is clean
Firewood is affordable at $5/bundle
Cons:
Campsite is *very* close to the road, especially campsite #4
There’s no privacy between campsites. They’re wide open
Potable water tastes terrible. Fine for cooking/cleaning but not recommended for drinking
We noticed the owners staring at us and our campsite from the entrance many times throughout our stay, which felt odd, though it may just be cultural differences
Fire pits come without grill grates, which seem to otherwise be standard among campsites (or we just got lucky many times before). General store does not have grates, but tin foil is a workable solution here.

The best part of this site is its proximity to the park but the bathroom is a porta potty and the water might be potable (we didn’t risk it). I’d recommend this site if you can’t get a campground res in the park.

Easy, great location, maintained.
Easy access, clean and well maintained. Greeted with a smile and wave the next morning. Portable toilet, garbage, water, fire pit, picnic table. Minor issue upon our arrival in the evening; water (hose) was shut off and nobody to be found to turn on. Turned it in our selves just other side of fence. Overall, a great place camp for the night for an early start into Mount Rainier, just a two minute drive to the park entrance.

Loved tent camping! Could see the stars at night. Great spot farthest from the road out of all the spots (spot #1). Super easy to find. Ample parking space. Super clean portapotty. Just a few minutes from the Nisqually Rainier entrance, near people selling wood, near restaurants. Had trees perfectly placed to put two hammocks up. Fire pit worked perfectly. Very nice picnic table. Felt very safe.
