Living legend!
Site 4 is nice and spacious. Much less road noise than site 1. We liked it. The host Lhakpa was very nice and we found out he is a living legend. He was a guide on Mt Everest and summited the mountain 15 times! He later came to the US, settled near Mt Rainier where he did guiding and summited that mountain 95 times!!! We learned this in the Wild Berry restaurant where we enjoyed Nepali food. We also took a selfie with Lhakpa and felt honoured to have met him.
The porta potty was very clean when we arrived on a Thursday. But over the course of the weekend it got pretty bad, nearly filled to overflowing and all toilet paper used up. This was not due to the campers, but due to the constant stream of people coming from the road, where there are often traffic backups near the park entrance. It was uncomfortable having non campers constantly coming into the campground to use the toilet.
Aside from the toilet situation everything was fine.

Great location
It is conveniently located one mile from the Nisqually entrance. Only 4 spots so it is cozy. It's dry camping (most sites are near Rainier anyway) but there is a portable toilet. Dawa is very responsive. There is a neat restaurant right next door and Ashford is 5 min away for more supplies.

So much more than a campsite!
My husband and I had the best time staying at Dawa’s Rainier Hideaway! The location to the park was amazing. Only being a mile away from the Park entrance made it easy for us to get an early head start to our day of adventuring. In addition, this site was perfect for us to park our rooftop tent at.
What we like the most about this spot however was it being right next to Wildberry Restaurant. The staff there were amazing, they treated us like family. We went back three different times. We loved how this was an over all experience into the Nepalese culture with the amazing food, prayer flags and the impressive display of the owners story from his time climbing Mount Everest. Would definitely recommend!

Great for people headed to Rainier!
I think this place is owned by the restaurant owner. The restaurant right next door is handy! Its very close to the park, only like 2 miles to the entrance. Water and firewood on site was very handy as well!
Carpenter ants are abundant in the camping area and all around the park and town. They did not bother us, but they are around.
Very clean porta potty. One recommendation would be for the owner to add a cinderblock or something kn front of the toilet. It was quite a large step up and down.
