Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. The metal trash bin next to the sani-can is for your use - please do not use any other trash cans in or outside of the barn as these are for events only. You will also find a wood firepit and chairs available for use right beside your site. Please bring your own wood to, or feel free to purchase wood through this listing. Also feel free to enjoy the covered seating area alongside the west side of the barn, overlooking the animals, gardens and expansive valley view! We are also situated less than a 10-minute drive away from an easily accessible dump station in Port Ludlow, on the way to the Hood Canal Bridge. Please understand that we are a working farm that hosts businesses and other visitors. You will most likely see us and perhaps other guests during your stay! Our home is further down the driveway (to the south of the barn) and we have land mates and an Airbnb unit attached to our house. You will likely hear the sounds of farm projects, animals and people at times. We also live off the busy Beaver Valley road, making us an ideal location for access to the greater Peninsula, but also please know that you may notice road noise at times during your stay with us. We are not in a remote area that is completely silent - we are a bustling farm in a happening place. If you are seeking somewhere very remote without a lot of noise, projects or people coming and going, our site is sadly not for you. This is just the reality of our situation and we always want to make sure our guests know what to expect. That said, this also makes for an exciting, immersive experience if you're looking to connect with the bustling farming and food culture in our region! This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too. Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks. The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well. We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew! They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved! The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore. They had an outhouse too. The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect We all can’t wait to come back!

Wildwood Farms - Olympics Area We stayed here from 8/9-8/10 (Sat-Sun) and had such a lovely experience. Mary and Pete, the hosts, were incredibly sweet and welcoming. Our one-night stay at this beautiful Olympic-area campsite was peaceful, scenic, and well worth the visit. We loved the never-ending water faucet--supposedly the cleanest water around--paired with a gorgeous mountain view. The site came with camping chairs and a fire pit (though we couldn't use the fire pit due to seasonal burn restrictions). We especially enjoyed watching the friendly chickens roam around. Mary mentioned they're about 4 years old and still laying 6-7 eggs per 15 chickens--very impressive! Their eggs ($6/dozen) had deep yellow, vibrant yolks that were clearly organic and fresh. Yes, the chickens can be a little chatty in the morning, but it added to the charm for us. The port-a-potty was far nicer than average thanks to the scents and care Mary and Pete put into maintaining it--truly appreciated! It came stocked with toilet paper, and the water faucet (with a blue handle) was easy enough to operate once you got the hang of it. Just remember to bring your own soap or dish soap, as those aren't provided. We stayed at Campsite One, which was spacious enough for 6-8 people and offered a fantastic value. Between the friendly hosts, fresh eggs, mountain views, and peaceful farm atmosphere, this was one of the best campsites we've enjoyed--and we'd happily return.

This was our second visit to Pleasant Places, and it was just as great in a little rain this year as it was in the summer heat last year. The kids had a blast exploring in a safe, open area where we never had to worry about traffic or open water, which made it especially stress-free for parents of young kids. The host was so friendly and welcoming, and water was readily available for washing hands and dishes, which made camping easy and comfortable. There’s plenty of space for tents and endless room for field games, giving the kids hours of fun. Ike Kinswa State Park is nearby and worth the short drive for a safe, fun swim day. The property is peaceful, well-kept, and inviting. I recommend bringing battery-powered string lights for around the main camp area—they add a cozy glow in the evenings. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already looking forward to our next trip back!

I have a large group consisting of 4 families that have been struggling to find camping places that are big enough to spread out and feel like we're not on top of others camping at the same place. Standard campsites are too cramped and you never feel like you got to enjoy nature and the beautiful world around us, but rather only the others campers who are way too close! That is where Pleasant Places comes in clutch! Our group absolutely loved it! Plenty of space and the amenities that Summer provides made it an easy week of camping. An open field in the middle allowed for children to play and since we are so secluded we didn't have to worry about being too noisy to others around us. I would 100% recommend this place to others. Awesome location. Can place tents/campers in between tree to keep them shady so they don't get too hot. Summer had a hose for us to get water from so we didn't have to keep running to the store. Seriously, check out this place! Unless it's the last week of July since that is when we plan to return. lol Great Spot!

We had a great time camping here. We had 2 families sharing 2 of the sites, with kids on one and grownups on the other. The sites were close enough to feel ok about this, but far enough away to provide some distance/privacy. The property was lovely and the views were amazing. Loved the shade provided by the trees, and the pigs were a real treat. But note that there is a direct neighbor to the east, and we had the misfortune of being there during some yard work with a backhoe.

INCREDIBLE hipcamp! It exceeded our expectations and we could not recommend it more. Mary is the most lovely host who clearly takes a lot of pride in the land and space. All the campsites looked beautiful, but we had #3 which gave our family a lot of great sun, shade, space and privacy. The kids and adults both loved the swing in the large gorgeous maple tree, and we put our chairs in the little babbling brook to cool down and chill out. I will say, as someone who loves to camp but isn't excited about porta potties- this one really is exceptional. And the drinking water is phenomenal. So nice to have the water accessible and easy to use. The town of Quilcene (pearl of the peninsula!) is awesome and don't miss the Quilcene village store (amazing!). We checked out Leland Lake, went on some great local hikes, and maybe our favorite thing was going swimming in the Quilcene Bay when the tide came in. It was so warm! As we came back to the hipcamp and visited the pigs, we saw incredible sunsets and moon rising above the silhouette of the mountains. What a gorgeous find. Thank you Mary and Pete! Hope to come back before long!

Beautiful farm with space for kids to roam around. We camped in the apple orchard and it had sufficient shade for a sunny and warm weekend. There is a small creek which the kids loved to dip their hands and legs in. Mary was welcoming, nice and provided a quick tour of the place when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this farm for a quiet and pleasant weekend.

We had a wonderful stay at Pleasant Places! We had 10 adults, two kids, and a couple of dogs, and there was plenty of space for all of our tents and equipment! Having our own porta potty was great too. We all enjoyed hanging around the kitchen area/fire pit, and Summer was quick to respond to any questions we had. It was a very peaceful and private location, and we had the best time! We would definitely recommend Pleasant Places for your next group camping trip!
