Weekend Trip to Elkenmist
The yurt was a perfect way to winter camp and stay semi-warm in the process. The sauna was restorative and the showers had somewhat warm water (better than freezing!) Lots of woods/trails to explore. Saw some elk roaming on our last mornigng there. Will definitely be coming back when its warmer!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Astro-Dome
The Astro-dome was one of my favorite weekend trips in a long time. The hosts thought of every little thing to make our stay here so comfortable including slippers, robes, extra blankets, board games, twinkle lights, coffee and tea etc. The dome was clean and cozy. The hot tub was so relaxing. The trails right from the front door step to the creek were so fun. The hosts were very easy to communicate with as well. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Cannot recommend enough, a really magical place. The yurt was kept warm with the wood burning stove and the sauna was an absolute treat. We loved talking to all the folks at the farm, can't wait to go back!

Had a great time staying at the Yurt! The compostimg toilets were extra clean. The land and location was beautiful. We did the farm tour and got to see how they sustain themselves, which was awesome to see. Brought 2 toddlers who had fun running on the land and eating blueberries.

Den made spending my 43rd here pretty smooth and carefree. The wood burning sauna, which he built (!!!!!), was amazing and it was just nice being natural and free ^_^ he also built the yurt, which was cool. Loved the outdoor kitchen, too. Tons of berries to eat everywhere. Will try to visit again!

Was a nice place to stay after exploring the Skamokawa Vista Park. If you come here I would definitely take the time to go to the state park. Was peaceful at the Yurt. Toilet was nice and clean and had a nice space to wash hands. No complaints.

Super cute yurt! I love the environment. It was serene and beautiful. My 9 year old and I really enjoyed it. He had a blast playing the thongophone on the wall. I have no idea how he knew how to play it. But it was definitely a very peaceful rendition of Mary had a little lamb. Definitely bring your own bedding. It gets chilly at night without the stove on. The futons aren’t the most comfy. But definitely a great experience full of adventure!

Absolutely incredible spot. The pictures don’t do it justice but it’s surrounded by gorgeous Mountain views and rolling hills. Both Den and Max are super great guys and very helpful. The land feels peaceful and magical, we really didn’t want to leave. My partner and I can’t wait to come back!!

We stayed 2 nights, one in the yurt which was magical and whimsical and everything a girls trip or romantic getaway needs, Including a very nicely kept out house attached to the yurt. The yurts was furnished with floor pads of different thickness , with lots of pillows, throw blankets and a wood stove too.
The second night we used the bell tents. Some had floor pads, some did not. The red one was smaller, but had its own fire pit. The blue one was smaller as well, but was closer to on-site amenities on both sides.
A quick walk down the road and over a small bridge, Den had tge most enchanting outdoor kitchen. Pictures provided. It felt like several large families could all eat in the same space without being to evasive. The kitchen had almost all the amenities one could need and then some.
Directly around the corner from the outdoor kitchen was a wooded area with hammocks and lights which felt intimate and cozy. Not too far from that, was an old school sauna and a really well made but rustic outdoor shower.
Over all, Den's farm was rustic and charming and highly recommend a stay here.

I had a wonderful experience at Elkenmist! I
My partner and I planned a last minute getaway to relax from the hustle and bustle of city life. Spending the weekend in a lovely yurt surrounded by grass and trees was everything we needed. Den was a friendly and accommodating host, we felt very welcomed in the space! The yurt is super spacious and the woodfire stove was a great addition to add to the cozy atmosphere - it saved us when the sun went down. The yurt had many outdoor chairs, extra sleeping mats, a broom and floor cleaner, and it DOES have an outlet for charging things. I will say I did see some droppings in the yurt, but it is a farm as well so that could be expected, just be mindful about keeping food and such off the floor and bringing your own bedding. There are string lights inside as well. I could see it being really fun with a group! The bathroom, right behind the yurt, was so clean, and the wood composting toilets were an interesting concept that worked surprisingly well to keep it smelling decent. The kitchen was well equipped, had a sink with filtered water and useful supplies! Wish I would’ve had time for the farm tour because the animals looked sooo cute! I would highly recommend staying here :)

My family of four (including a six year old) had a good time. There are sheep in a meadow and we enjoyed being stared at placidly by them. The composting toilet was delightfully clean and tidy. Though it was a cold and rainy night, the fireplace kept us warm and the yurt stayed dry. The yurt was very spacious. The things on the inside were very cool: a zodiac poster and chimes with a mallet. A very peaceful spot. And new gravel made the driveway easy to back out of! Thanks!

We had a fantastic time! My partner and I stayed in the yurt to celebrate my birthday. The yurt was clean and private. The wood stove kept us super toasty and the mattress was comfortable. The property has a handy outdoor kitchen and dining area. We also took the farm tour and got to hang out with the baby sheep and rabbits. We also made use of the sauna which was the perfect contrast to the rainy spring weather. The property is stunning and incredibly serene, there are tons more f trails to explore. We left feeling rejuvenated. Den and Max were both incredibly friendly and made our stay easy and enjoyable. We can’t wait to go back!!

My partner and I had an amazing time here for her birthday, I think our biggest regret was not having more time to explore more of the trails around the property. The yurt was very well built, stayed warm with the stove, and was very large for two people and two dogs. The single sleeping mat was surprisingly comfortable and the outhouse was only a short walk from the front doors. Den was extremely kind and helpful in making sure the stay was successful and fun, and the farm tour with Max was great as we were able to meet a lot of baby sheep and rabbits, and we were met with answers to all of our many questions. The location is far enough out that you hear and see a lot of nature, but centrally located enough that we were able to explore both the Washington and Oregon coast easily! The shared outdoor kitchen offers enough amenities that you shouldn’t have any problems making food, the wood fired sauna was an excellent addition, and the outdoor shower is just a few steps away from the sauna and kitchen making everything fairly central. We had such a fun time and we look forward to our next stay!

We spent New Years here. Such a beautiful property. Max the shepherd saved us several times over, including towing our car out of muddy trenches. The sheep were friendly, and Elfsa the barn cat was even friendlier. The yurt was spacious and the wood stove put our firemaking skills to the test. The sauna was lovely and the outdoor shower was superb. Can't wait to return in the summer!

The yurt was well-kept. The area is quiet and relatively secluded, a perfect place to retreat to. To get all the way to the yurt you definitely need AWD. Otherwise, it's about a 150ft walk.
The stove heats the yurt adequately even in winter, just prepare to use about 2 boxes of firewood each day/night.
The mattress was comfortable. It's a bit bigger than a standard single, which was nice, but double sized sheets might fit better.
There is a nice trail to walk on the property, and the gravel road is also good for a stroll. This was a perfect place to escape to for a few days to relax and reset. I would absolutely come back for another retreat.
