This land has passed through many families but was first "managed" by Salish Indians who burned the prairie and harvested native plants for food, medicine, clothing, charms and more for 10,000 years. When European settlers arrived in the 1850s, burning the prairie all but ceased and that, along with the introduction of many new exotic species of animals, crop plants and weeds, began the degradation of the landscape. Nestled in the heart of the North Cascades, this dome offers a private hot tub, outdoor kitchen with grill and fridge, a fire pit for stargazing, and WiFi for staying connected. Enjoy an outdoor bathroom and shower for a true glamping experience. With the Barr Creek trailhead just 1/4 mile away with a view of a waterfall, it’s the perfect spot for adventurers and relaxation seekers alike. Reconnect with nature in style! We are a short 11 minute drive to the North Cascades National Park! During the winter (typically end of November/early December through April/May) part of Highway 20 and driving access to the park is closed. You are still able to get to our dome using Highway 20 as that part is open all year round, but you are unable to access the park. You are able to drive to the entrance, park and snow shoe in if you'd like. The part of Highway 20 that is closed is on the west side at milepost 134 at the Ross Dam Trailhead and on the east side, at milepost 171 at the Silver Star Gate, near Mazama. An alternative hiking destination for the winter months is the Rockport State Park which is only a 4 minute drive from the dome. You are able to purchase a day pass on your phone once you arrive.

Oso Highlands is a 24 acre working farm located on the Stillaguamish River. We raise Scottish Highland cattle and have a variety of smaller livestock on the farm including, miniature horses, goats, chickens, and a peacock. We have two sites on the property: A fully furnished 3 bedroom house completely separated from the host's living area, and a small cabin on the farm itself near the goats and chickens. We were visitin from fl late nov, didnt realize apparently its off season and most things are closed lol. Beautiful place tho located in the north cascades. Close proximity to a couple resturants and gas stations. When we pulled in saw a bunch of deer. Friendly staff , have bathrooms and laundry on site. Would definitely recommend

Weekend Trip to Pacific Rim Institute

Great spot on the middle of the island. Quiet and peaceful. No power but clean and dry. Fire pit offered a great spot for an evening campfire. Very clean, cots for sleeping. Bring headlamps. Running water, shower and toilet clean and about 60 - 80 yds from the cabin. Great host and spot!

What a great spot, just across the road from the Skagit River. Very relaxing and beautiful! They were super nice to us and both the camp host and maintenance guy helped us get to a spot. We had some issues early on with getting to the campground, but after a three day delay we made it. We will certainly stay here again!

DeAnn made sure we were settled in and let us know she was available quickly if we needed her help. This home provided just what we needed. We had space for our alone times, great cooking and eating together times, and space to hang out together.

This may be the best place we've stayed at. Jackie is an incredibly thoughtful host with excellent communication. The tent was clean and absolutely perfect. I was very pleased that she used non toxic products. The property is beautiful, the hot tub beside our tent was amazing, the pool was super cool and we had everything we needed for the best stay. She even shared s'mores kits with us for the fire. Jackie really thought of everything!! This is definitely a hidden gem! Will be booking again super soon! This time we will bring the kids. :)

Such a beautiful cabin, we stayed there with our in laws in the fall and it was so cozy. The view is stunning and so much space for our dogs to run around and play! Loved the wood burning stove, kept the place so toasty and with the rain it was such a vibe. Would absolutely be back! The host was so kind and responsive as well- she lended us whatever we needed and helped us get the fire going in the cabin.

Weekend Trip to Greenstone Farm Camping

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Greenstone Farms. The farm and the view are quite beautiful. We had fresh eggs for breakfast which was lovely. The horses visited us before headed home. The restroom was very clean and nice and had a heater which was nice since it was raining the night we showed up. We would have stayed longer but my husband wanted his recliner for the Mariners playoff game. I didn’t foresee that obstacle.

This is a beautiful spot and a great base for visiting the national park! The indoor and outdoor amenities were great - we appreciated the snacks, ample resources for cooking, and many options for getting warm (2 electric heaters, hot tub, wood fire stove, and outdoor fire pit). You can see the small road from the dome and hear a bit of highway noise, so it's not fully isolated, but that also makes it quick to get back onto the road to head to the trailhead (it took us about 1 hour to get to the Maple Pass Loop). We also checked out the Barr Creek conservation area about 0.25 miles up the road, which has a very pretty little loop trail.

2 nights at Chom's RV Campground

The property was exactly how it was described and well marked sites. Very responsive and present hosts. The site was easy to pull into and extremely private. Completely dark and quiet so perfect for sleeping. The restroom was the cleanest, brightest one I've experienced in any campground. It's a little tricky walk from the C and D tent sites at night so I just drove over, parked right in front. The hot water takes a few minutes but it gets very hot and stays hot. There are multiple stalls and two showers so unlikely having to wait. A great surprise on a chilly morning was that the restroom is heated! I would stay here again, it's perfect for a few nights, and 30 minutes to multiple hiking trails. Less than 1 hour to the Cascade Pass trailhead (most of that drive is primitive road so it's slow). Also only about 15-20 minutes from Cement which has a few or restaurants.
