I own and run Lilliwaup Oyster Farm just down the hill and across the 101 - you'll pass the workshop and processing building on your drive up to the sites. YES! We offer oysters to purchase, seasonally (September - June) and if you're feeling adventurous, take advantage of farm tour on the beach and harvest your own oysters straight from the farm to eat raw or grill up back at your campsite! *Please note - oyster farm tours require 1 week advance notice - let us know when you book if you're interested.* Campsites are located on a secluded hilltop just a half mile from the waterfront, surrounded by old growth trees, wildflowers, and the serene soundscape of the rushing creek straight from the the Olympic Mountains. This property is supposedly one of the first homesteads in Jordan Road. This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then. The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost! Hopefully you'll get a visit from a deer and hear the hooting of the owl. :) You are welcome to check out our goats too if you want (they're in their enclosed space). The surroundings are peaceful and private, you will enjoy exploring the trails all around the 9 acres out of 12 we are sharing. Stroll down the hill to listen to the sounds of the creek and fish ladder. Our campground cabins are about 4.9 miles from the 'Granite Falls Fish Ladder'. Visit this beauty at Mountain Loop Highway if you fancy a little hike. Drive around 7 miles to the 'Lime Kiln Trailhead. The trail is full of amazing views and history. Our place is only about 45 minutes from Seattle. Why not pack your tent and sleeping bags then drive here after work, then leave in the morning. Leave your worries behind.. enjoy nature.

Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. Weekend Trip to Hood Canal Oyster Farm | Lilliwaup

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Jim's Hood Canal Oyster Farm. We originally booked site #2 but Jim contacted us prior to our arrival and invited us to stay at site #1 which became available. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. All three sites are very well kept, peaceful, and private. The hookups worked perfectly, and our 21' class C RV had no issues with the short steep climb to the site. Site #1 is the largest and we loved the herb garden and table. I did notice that site #3 is more private and would have fit our RV with no issues. We hope to be back soon. We can't thank Jim enough for the absolutely delicious oysters from his farm.

3 nights at Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

If you like to camp in the winter, like to take your dog, and want a roof with a heater over your head, this is perfect! It was a perfect island adventure. Fred's special touches included easy access pottable water and dishwashing sink on the porch of the cabin, a clean/neat outhouse, a bug flap, heater, microwave, fridge, and COOKIES! We walked down to the beach, took a couple trips to beautiful parks, and enjoyed the views of the water from the cabin. We brought a tent/shelter and put it up for an extra "room" to enjoy the views and grilled cheese/tomato soup, hot cider, and apple crisp. We heard coyotes howling in the distance, owls hooting, saw deer, coyotes, and river otters. We truly had an island adventure we will always cherish and remember. Thank you Fred for providing us this opportunity!!

5 nights at The Forest House

The excellent: - Host was super nice and very easy to get a hold of - Pad sites are level and easy to find - Trail to sites is well-maintained and well-marked - Storage boxes at each campsite - Forest was absolutely gorgeous Do note: - Not as remote as I was expecting. You can see a house from the sites and hear a good bit of road noise. (However, it was pretty peaceful at night) - Pad sites are pretty small- my 4 person was a snug fit. Anything bigger would definitely not fit, and if your tent needs guylines staked into the ground, this is not the site for you (though you could probably get away with tying off to trees) - Parking is a bit tight. I don't think anything bigger than a standard SUV (think dodge Durango, Ford Edge, etc) would fit without sticking out into the road some. I was driving a Pontiac G6 and it was a comfortable size for that. All in all? I would book again quite happily and very much enjoyed camping here.

This was our second time at this campsite in Lilliwaup! The location is great, it was quiet, the campsite & porta-potty were clean, and Jim was a great host. Since it was a wet weekend, he brought dry kindling to our site and made sure we were all set for the evening. We'll be back again!

I loved staying at Fred’s cabin! Truly had everything you need including an incredibly friendly and thoughtful host. It was quite stormy the weekend we stayed but it was perfectly cozy in the cabin with the little heater :) Fred even let us know when he heard about a nearby orca pod, we didn’t get to see them as they went on up to Tacoma, but he let us borrow his binoculars and told us all about the island and its animal sightings! 10/10 stay and weekend- hope to be back soon!

We had a great experience staying at this cabin. It was cute, cozy, and easy to find. The beds were comfortable. We really appreciated having a fridge and sink, it made things a lot more convenient. The outhouse was clean and well-maintained. Fred was very friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. Overall, a lovely place for a getaway. We’d definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Hood Canal Oyster Farm | Lilliwaup

Site #3 was perfect for our first time camping using our sleeping platform in the back of our Forester with a Kelty caboose. There was plenty of space! There was a big wooden spool we could use as a table. Although we didn’t tent camp in the additional open clearing, we did sit there to enjoy our coffee the next morning. It was very quiet except for the chipping of birds and sound of a nearby stream. The porta potty was very clean! Jim was very responsive. We will definitely be back.

I had a great time glamping on this beautiful property! I stayed in cabin 1 this time and I will note it is a bit closer to road noise and the farm animal noises. (Which I loved but some may not) If you want it as quiet as possible choose one of the cabins further towards the back of the property. I enjoyed the openness of this cabin spot though. This stay was the best day my little dog has had all year being able to run and play freely and safely in the fenced property for hours on end!!!! We cant wait to return hopefully soon.

Loved this glamping spot! A cabin with electricity, microwave and mini fridge made the perfect getaway. I tried it out one weekend with friends and liked it so much that I brought my kids the next weekend! Fred is such a fabulous host and so friendly along with everyone else I crossed paths with nearby. We brought our hammocks on stands and it was perfect for relaxing and viewing the Salish Sea and watching wildlife nearby and watching the night sky. My kids and I enjoyed swimming at Lowell Park on Lake Josephine too!
