We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed.
You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well.
We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest.
Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

The house was so cute a cozy. It is a real house with electricity, internet, TV, dvd player, and Netflix, a full kitchen, and the bathroom is right beside the upstairs bedroom. The view from the bed in the morning was a beautiful huge tree in the field. Down the hill is a very large pond. I can see a float and canoes that would be great in the summer. There is a huge pavilion beside the lake with couches, a long table, chairs, a grill, and a refrigerator. There are two outside RV toilet stalls at the lake too. When I drove in I saw horses in a field and a little donkey running around, playing in a a pen. I stopped and watched. Close to the house they have goats in a pen and they wanted me to pat them. The owner, Maria, told me I could. She also has a pig and chickens. I enjoyed the solitude but this place would be wonderful for a family outing or corporate retreat. I forgot a few things, so Maria directed me to a nearby Walmart in Tappahannock. I highly recommend a stay at Maria's farm.

The place is amazing! Me my wife and our fur baby loved everything about the place. It has a rustic vibe surrounded by farm animals and wild life! The only thing I would have changed was we didn’t stay long enough! The fresh eggs were amazing to have for breakfast, wish I would have got more than just a dozen. And Rodney, the host was such great guy. You have your own little private spot to just sit back and enjoy. We will definitely be coming back in the short future to see the horses, goats, and other animals again.

Perfect stop over during my road-trip. It’s very clean, cozy, and convenient. I put my perishables and ice packs in the little fridge/freezer. Boiled water for my tea and instant soup. My dog and I enjoyed visiting with the horses and having a nice walk around the farm. Nighttime was peaceful and quiet for stargazing and getting good rest. Highly recommend as a pet-friendly place to stay.

This is my second time at Cross Creek tiny house. I had a restful, peaceful, safe stay here with my doggie. Place was clean, well stocked, comfortable bedding and towels, and easy access since I could drive up to the site. Host is friendly, communicative, and welcoming, definitely recommend to a fellow traveller. I could walk my dog around the property, the horses were such a calming presence, and nighttime was quiet and easy to get a good night’s sleep. Highly recommend!

14 nights at Cross Creek Farm
The tiny house was great! I stayed two weeks with my two big dogs. It was well laid out and had everything we needed. I ended up sleeping on the futon with my foam mattress I use while car camping because my old dog couldn't navigate the steep stairs to the loft, but it was actually comfy. The kitchen is minimal, but I could do a little bit of cooking and make coffee, so it worked. The house looks out on a pasture with trees hiding the road, so it was very private yet roomy outside, and the dogs had room to roam a bit (I kept an eye on them). The farm is very picturesque. The host was friendly and accommodating, the eggs were delicious, the whole experience was lovely if a bit primitive. Exactly what I expected!

The rental space and land were both beautiful. We couldn’t see another house from the rental - it looked out onto trees, a field, and well maintained grassy space that we and our dog enjoyed! The house was perfect for our group and the hosts very responsive. We would 100% stay again!

We had a great weekend camping on Rodney’s farm. He was very kind to us when we arrived and took us to the tiny home. Inside it has everything you need: full kitchen with an induction burner, shower with hot water, comfy bed in the loft, WiFi, and a great spot for making a campfire and enjoying nature. We would definitely love to stay here again :)

Weekend Trip to Cross Creek Farm
Rodney and Tara have a beautiful piece of property out in the country and were very hospitable. My brother and I stayed in their tiny house for a weekend of golfing. It was comfortable and had everything one would need for their visit. We did not take advantage of visiting their farm animals, but wish we had. The mini-split unit kept the temperature stable and comfy.
