Peace and quiet equals “Solitude at my farm. I’m just like you. I want to camp at a quiet place in the country where it’s plenty of acres and no houses to look at and a clean bathroom and shower. Well it’s here. I’m Located in Wakefield Virginia. If you’re traveling to Virginia Beach I’m one hour away. From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

My wife and I loved our stay. The host was very hospitable and very accommodating. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and shown a well detailed tour of the property. The property was very well maintained and visually appealing. We were provided a wheel barrel full of fire logs and use of wheel rim for a camp fire (10$ when booked). The views for sunset and sunrise were stunning. We had total peace and quiet during our stay. We will be back in the spring to try our hand at fishing off the dock. Perfection.

Roderick was super kind. He let me move to the spot with the best morning sunrise view, made sure I knew where the fire pit was and left the light on in the outside portal potty. He stood around for a moment to answer all my questions about his site, made me feel very comfortable. What a wonderful place to wake up, the sunrise was absolutely stunning.

We loved it here what an amazing experience watching the boats come in after a day of crabing. The sun rise and sunsets are spectacular and the host are wonderful people . Totally enjoyed the spot and can't wait to come back.

What an incredible stay! The location is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and right by the water. Rod and his wife were amazing hosts—so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You can really tell they put care into making the place special. Perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. Highly recommend this Hipcamp!

What a picturesque setting on the river to enjoy a beautiful sunrise & the day that follows. Views of the water, nice sandy “beach” (w/adirondack chairs), level cement pad, power & water, Wi-Fi, warm outdoor enclosed shower, dock and gracious, friendly hosts is what you’ll find at Riverview.
We had a fabulous stay despite the cool weather. Our hosts went above and beyond by not only including us on a boat ride, but also chased down (and captured) our canopy that “took sail” in a gust of wind.
If Riverview is available and you’re looking for a quiet place to hand out…book it! You can thank us later :-)

Best place ever! We came and had our first camping trip as a family. Marvin and his wife were extremely kind, understanding, patient and supportive. My ten year old son absolutely loved camping here at the farm and Marvin made us feel like we were at our other home. We are already planning to go back! What a dream of a trip! Thank you Marvin for ensuring my son and husband are convinced camping is our thing. And being only a hour from
Downtown Norfolk, oh we will def return often as we can.
