The forest hut is a screened in platform that is lovely for camping on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and small fire pit. This is not a cabin, no electricity, running water or plumbing. It is not well suited for winter camping unless you’re well equipped. BYO gear as there is not mattress or blankets in the shelter. We have a small farm store near the road filled with herbal teas, tinctures, gifts, chicken eggs, soaps, maple syrup and ghee. Take a swim in the Ashfield lake 1 mile away or visit the enchanting Chapel Falls on Trustees land just down the road in Williamsburg. Weekend Trip to Back 80 Yurt

Spent a weekend catching up with friends here. The yurt is amazing, super comfortable and warm with the wood stove, easy to cook on the gas range, water nearby for cleaning up. Brought our own potable water. Nice privy. Left some extra supplies behind for the next people which seems like a well established tradition. We hiked around Welton falls to the AMC lodge, saw a black bear, hiked Oregon Mt the next day. We will definitely be looking to return in the summer.

Lovely cabin. Definitely would do it again when the appliances work. Bed was really comfy and kept us warm through the night. They have an electric heater, not a wood burning stove just fyi! Lots of ticks so stick to the grass path.

The Woods cabin was just what we were looking for. Directions were clear and Lindsay was an awesome host. Cabin was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated how there were things like soap/toilet paper/paper towels/firewood/extra blankets already there. Bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed! Despite there being another cabin on the property, it’s far enough away that we felt like we had plenty of privacy. We’ll be back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Forest Hut in Western Mass

We had a great weekend getaway in this cute forest hut! The hut and privy were stocked with everything we needed for a weekend. The town of Ashfield is also very quaint. The hut is fairly close to the Airbnb house, so if you're looking for an isolated stay in the woods, this may not be far enough from others as you'd prefer.

The cabin sits at the top of the meadow tucked against the trees.

3 nights at Forest Hut in Western Mass

Staying at the Forest Hut was a magical experience. The hut was cozy and romantic with the fairy lights, views of the light through the trees, and sounds of nature lulling us to sleep. The privy was clean and comfortable. Swinging in the hammock sipping coffee and reading a book was never better. Host is just lovely and her garden/apothecary made it extra special!

Weekend Trip to Forest Hut in Western Mass

I loved staying at the kuti for a night! It was my first time camping totally solo and I felt very safe and secure at this spot. The land is beautiful, and I appreciated the things that were provided (picnic table, paper/matches for fire building). I got some awesome herbal products and eggs from the farm store. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. The composting privy was very neat and clean. It was perfect for a solo camp, and I could see it also being nice for a couple, parent-kiddo, or close friends. It felt spacious for just me but would definitely be tight quarters for more than 2 people. I’d love to come and stay again!
