This Outpost and campground is located on 300 acres of private property surrounded by park and public land. It has been here for over 30 years in some form or another. We are Caleb & Amber who enjoyed managing this little oasis in the middle of the desert from March to June of 2017 when we decided to purchase the business & make it our own. This is a dry, rugged campground with a bathhouse that provides coin operated showers and flush toilets. In addition there is little old rustic camp store placed in the middle of nowhere where we provide fuel, snacks, firewood, ice, showers, cold drinks & more. If you are looking for a more private site with lots of space and shade, book our Small Group at the Rocks. For a warmer stay during the cooler months book one of our Glamping Tents listed. We have the larger, and spacious tent in the grove of the Juniper Trees (which is also amazing in the warmer season) and rent a heater from us inside the general/camp store. Please check with us on fire restrictions, hipcamp is often wrong on their assumptions, we rarely have fire restrictions. BE SURE TO GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK IN NO LATER THAN 5PM. We are geared towards outdoor adventurists and sightseers wanting a cost-effective stay while taking advantage of everything Moab has to offer! We are locally owned by a family of 8 and love calling Moab our home. We understand the corporate overtaking that Moab has had in the last 5 years and plan to keep our campground affordably priced and locally owned. We have upgraded the old site plan from 7 RV sites to 55 Full Service RV sites this year. Most sites are pull through but we will have some back-ins. Our new bathhouse has a laundry, women's bathrooms and showers, men's bathrooms and showers, and an ADA compliant family style bathroom. In addition to the new bathhouse, we have a new office and retail store where we sell souvenirs, RV supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, and other necessities for guests. We do not currently have propane fill on site. We know that there are many options to choose from when it comes to staying in Moab. We urge people to support locally owned businesses that help Moab grow and solve problems that exist in our community. Moab is a recreation mecca with something for everyone and our little campground on the south end of the valley puts you within minutes of town, the mountains, and the red deserts around Moab.

There’s a pretty solid chance that you’ve heard about Moab, one of Utah’s most happening recreation spots. This gorgeous place gets packed, so do your homework beforehand so you know where to go! The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s talk about all of the fun you and your crew can have out here! The BLM asserts that this area has some of the “most spectacular landscapes in the United States,” and we’re totally inclined to agree. You’ll find Monticello tucked away into the southeast corner of Utah near the Abajo Mountains (BLM land surrounds the mountains). Archeology buffs will have endless fun exploring the remnants of Ancestral Puebloan life, including cliff dwellings and petroglyphs. This was one of the most unforgettable stays of our lives! Incredible climbing up the rocks that hugged our campsite to watch the sunset over Canyonlands. Caleb and Amber were nothing but helpful and in addition to stewarding this magical place, run a very cool little shop. We loved seeing Amber’s ceramics and watercolors there and picking up special camp treats.

It is absolutely beautiful at the Needle’s Outpost. You have a the perfect views into Canyonland and a beautiful red “hill” behind you. We didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t comment on them, but I was so excited to have a recycling option. Amber was very welcoming and she and her husband were working hard to keep everything nice. We had a moment of trepidation taking our trailer through a bit of sand to get to our spot, but had no issues. It was amazing to be somewhere so silent. Canyonland in general, onthe Needles side, was very quiet. We were able to ride our bikes to the very end and encountered very few cars. There were some vehicles at most of the trails. It did make me sad that people don’t realize the stunning beauty of the Needles area. It’s well worth the trip!

RV park 15 mins south of Moab right off highway. Easy to access many trails and sights with a short drive. Full hook ups were great, and the bathrooms/shower house was clean (and an added bonus). It was a bit loud being right off of the highway, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay here

This is a great place to stay if youre looking to visit the Needles District of Canyonlands. Just outside the park and plenty of great campsites to choose from. The hostess, Amber was very friendly and helpful. We had a backpacking trip in the park and this was a perfect spot to stop for the night before and get ready. The clean restrooms and showers are a nice bonus. The campsite are far enough apart to enjoy your own personal space and everyone else staying was very polite and quiet. We would gladly stay again when visiting the Canyonlands in the future!

The site was really well maintained and the staff were really nice. The site is so close to the Canyonlands visitor center less than 10 mins I think. Overall it’s a really cool place next to some rocks and some really pretty views. Wildlife viewing saw some coyotes and bats which were near as well. There’s even a little shop with some emergency supplies if you forget something and Gas for your car (to be warned price is exuberant expensive but expected).
