Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Water, sewer, and electric (20-30-50 amp panel) Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!)
Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions.
Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people.
We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5.
Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away.
We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. (Propane on RV is fine, but that is all they allow)

I think I found a hidden gem for the price of a piece of coal. This camp ground thought of it all. Clean, convenient, and quiet. I was able to relax and reorganize in the midst of my trip. I will definitely mark this as a place to stop again. Tip: book through hip camp for the deal.

Stella Mare is a very nice location, very clean or organized! Staff are very nice and welcoming.
One thing to note is that there isn't tons to offer, but they do keep their pool open year around, they have a pool heater which is cool.
They have a bar but it wasn't open the whole time we stood there.
I hope they work on offering more stuff for us RV folks :)

They had a miniature putt-putt course, a bounce area, playground, swimming pool, fishing pier and more! A few of us even enjoyed kayaking together on the water. (Kayaks cost extra to rent). My family really enjoyed The Retreat. We had 8 people in our group and stayed in one of the cabins. It was a tight squeeze but we made it work. We really liked the pool and other amenities that were provided. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We bothered them a lot with towel, toilet paper, and trash bag requests. There was wifi in the clubhouse and in the cabins. You can rent golf carts to drive around in and cabanas around the pool. My only complaint is that the only shade around the pool was the cabana, and the Texas sun is not forgiving. All together, it was a great stay and we would definitely return.

The property itself is really nice and well-kept. Plus, it's completely fenced, which was a huge bonus for us since we brought the dogs along.
The dock out back was perfect for casting a line or setting out a crab trap. And get this – there's even a public spot to fish the intercoastal within walking distance, right down the road. Talk about options!
They really thought of everything you'd need on site. All the hookups (water, electric, sewer) worked perfectly, and it was super convenient. We even had our choice of two BBQ grills. One of my favorite features was the screened-in patio area; it was awesome to sit outside and enjoy the breeze without getting eaten alive by bugs.
While they provided just about everything, you'll want to remember to bring your own fishing pole. But honestly, that's a small detail.
Our host, Tim, was super helpful and stayed in touch throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

The RV sites are all so clean and level. Everything went so smooth. We didn't get to try out the pool, but it was busy and looked clean. Everything was well maintained. Everyone was friendly. Highly recommend!

Loved being right on the canal, enjoyed the crabs. Nice quiet place. Loved watching the barges on the intercostal .
