We are in the customer service business, meaning we make it easy to camp (and celebrate!) with our beautiful 4-season canvas glamp tents and glamp vintage trailers. All tents are fully furnished with made beds and critical supplies, and have picnic tables, chairs around the fire rings, firewood, and charcoal grills. Our premier platform tents also have electric, heat, Keurig coffee pots, coffee and more! Vintage trailers have everything you need as well inside and out. The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)!
Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP.
Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property.
We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please.
You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers.

You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree.
You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos.

ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Camp Joy offers guests two docks available to use for fishing, lounging, getting in and out of kayaks on the property. The one shown was built as handicap accessible. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

Quiet natural location away from the busy city. Located on a private access uneven dirt road so a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended. There is a firepit but please burn inside the cinder blocks areas and keep it under control (not too big). Do not burn when it is windy. There should be wood available near the firepit. If more is needed, please help yourself to the branches on the land. Please make sure to completely put the fire out when done.
There are 6 acres and you are welcome to camp anywhere you like, in the open areas or in the woody areas in the back.
We have a RV barn area that can be used for shade, sitting, eating, relaxing, etc. You can use the tables and chairs. There is also a white water container on the table that you can use for washing.
There is a 32 gallon trash bucket that you can put trash in but make sure lid is closed when you're done to keep animals out.
This site does have limited solar electric power in RV area. To turn on, flip the white switch on the surge strip on the wall behind the microwave. There is no running water so please plan accordingly.
There is currently not a toilet available but I'm planning on building a composting toilet soon. For now, use the natural way and make sure to bury.
For security, there is one camera on the property located near the front entrance and it is mainly for monitoring the front entrance area. There is also another camera near the north side of RV barn for security of storage room and RV.
This site can also be used for long term parking/storing your RV or vehicle but we are not liable for anything that happens. If interested, please contact me or use the app called "Neighbor". The RV barn currently already has a RV inside it so that parking space can't be used. Our long-term plan is to also make the RV available but we would need to install an in ground septic system and electricity first.

Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

Quiet natural location away from the busy city. Located on a private access uneven dirt road so a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended. There is a firepit but please burn inside the cinder blocks areas and keep it under control (not too big). Do not burn when it is windy. There should be wood available near the firepit. If more is needed, please help yourself to the branches on the land. Please make sure to completely put the fire out when done.
There are 6 acres and you are welcome to camp anywhere you like, in the open areas or in the woody areas in the back.
We have a RV barn area that can be used for shade, sitting, eating, relaxing, etc. You can use the tables and chairs. There is also a white water container on the table that you can use for washing.
There is a 32 gallon trash bucket that you can put trash in but make sure lid is closed when you're done to keep animals out.
This site does have limited solar electric power in RV area. To turn on, flip the white switch on the surge strip on the wall behind the microwave. There is no running water so please plan accordingly.
There is currently not a toilet available but I'm planning on building a composting toilet soon. For now, use the natural way and make sure to bury.
For security, there is one camera on the property located near the front entrance and it is mainly for monitoring the front entrance area. There is also another camera near the north side of RV barn for security of storage room and RV.
This site can also be used for long term parking/storing your RV or vehicle but we are not liable for anything that happens. If interested, please contact me or use the app called "Neighbor". The RV barn currently already has a RV inside it so that parking space can't be used. Our long-term plan is to also make the RV available but we would need to install an in ground septic system and electricity first.

My family and I had great time there. The property is beautiful. Site 22 is perfectly secluded from other sites. It's the closest to the restroom. Trees provide excellent shade and wind break. We loved exploring all the trails. The host family is amazing. We had a great time meeting the resident dogs. They are very gentle and passive. We're definitely going to return.

This is a GREAT spot!!! Stayed here with family (8 adults) and dogs (4; different sizes and ages) — Daniel was a wonderful host! Before our trip he sent over a lot of helpful pictures and information. Finding the property was easy with Google maps and we loved being able to choose where to put our tents and cars.
The dogs loved exploring the land as much as we did. The fire pit Daniel set up made cooking easy, and having the covered trash bin was a big help. Most of the land is flat and relatively clear - one of the people in our party was able to use his manual active wheelchair to get around. The stars and sky at night were amazing to look at!
We were also blessed to be joined by a local kitty for the duration of our stay. We named him “Pocket” - he got along great with our (4) dogs, and with all of the people. He enjoyed pets and sitting on any free lap. If you see “Pocket” be sure to give him some love!

Place was very peaceful and secluded. The trails were beautiful and the pond was well stocked for good fishing (catch and release of course). 10/10 would highly recommend for those trying to get away from the hustle and bustle and see some stars.

The land is absolutely beautiful! The campsites are huge & the port a potty was clean!
It is close to the road & traffic was heard but it does get quieter later thru the night. I am already planning a second trip here. The town is close by & is small & cute with boutiques & antique shops. Highly recommend!

My family and all the friends we have taken to 5D ranch over the years all love it there. Site 23 is perfectly secluded from other sites with a gentle slope throughout, but 2 large tents fit on a reasonably level area. Trees provide excellent shade and wind break. The host family is amazing. We had a great time meeting other campers, and of course the resident dogs - they are very gentle and passive.

We really enjoyed our 4 day 3 night stay at Wild and Boujee right on the Colorado River. This spot is pretty secluded and offers a nice quite place to relax, fish, explore and unwind.
The river sites, while 100% dry campsites offer ample shade and easy access to the water. We felt having a few more spots along the waters edge cleaned up a little would have allowed for more fishing opportunities where the water is a bit deeper.
We definitely have this marked as a go to place close by our house for future trips. We really want to check this spot out during the summer.
There is access to a water faucet close to the RV pads and Tent/Cabin which was nice for us to top off our small offgrid camper.

I stayed at campsite #24, and for me and my dog, it was perfect—very secluded and calm. I will definitely stay again! A few tips for future campers: First, there is a small downhill slope to get to the site, so drive carefully (my Toyota Tacoma handled it fine, just take it slow). Second, cell service was limited to voice and text (data was choppy with TMobile and Verizon). Finally, Julie is a fantastic host who answers calls immediately. Thanks again, Julie!"

Julie‘s ranch was a truly restful haven for us. We actually came to watch the blues Festival in Navasota, but ended up just hanging out at the ranch listening to the coyotes and owls and relaxing by a fire. Communication was really good, and Julie met us at the check-in with a friendly smile and gracious hospitality. We did end up having a visit from their ranch dog, which was a ton of fun! I can highly recommend a visit here.
