Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos. We are rustic but classy. Time to get away and relax! 3 nights at Deer Trail Cabin sleeps 6

This place is awesome. The interior is like a luxury cabin with all the amenities and comforts you have at home. Excellent air conditioning, amazing waterfall shower, WiFi, and so many other great features to the cabin make it the best cabin we have ever stayed at. The host Tanya was friendly and had very fast responses to any questions. The location is in an RV park that has charcoal grills, players for the little ones, and great open areas to run with the kids or dogs. It was extremely quiet in regards to neighbors. There are some animal noises from geese and a few dogs but we felt that added to the country feel. A mile or so down the road is one of the best lakes in Texas and since it’s a state park it’s extremely safe and a pristine environment. A few minutes down the road in the opposite direction is a Dollar General for all the items you forgot or want some extra snack or drink. We will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

I love campsite 11 and the trails. They’re so easy to walk we were literally barefoot most of the way. It was a rejuvenating outdoor experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Our family loved the tent camping at 5D ranch. We are planning another trip again. We enjoyed the fishing pond. The site provided life jackets and small boats with paddles. Plenty of space to get away and enjoy the weekend together.

We found site 19 to be large enough to move a 33’ RV around and secluded enough to enjoy our outdoor stay. The hosts were great and the site was clean and well maintained. We felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay. The trail system is well marked and offers nature at its intended dose. This truly is a relaxing experience. We appreciate the hospitality.

We had a great time at this wonderful property, lots and lots of wooded property to explore. The hosts were excellent and the bathroom, shower and water refill station was only about 150 yards from site 22. We really enjoyed watching the gofers digging their holes, it was great entertainment for us and our dachshund! We even got to meet the ranch dog, he was super friendly and was just looking for a drink of water. We will definitely be back! Thank you for opening your property to all of us that seek to be outdoors, it seems to be getting harder and harder to find places to go. Keep up the great work and scratch that pup behind his ears for us!

This is our family's 3rd time back because we love it so much. The land is beautiful with wide open spaces and thick forest too. The hiking is really great and there are a lot of trails with the ability to hike a long distance or a short walk depending on what you want. Julie is a gracious and kind host and makes everything easy. The kids loved the boats, and each kid was able to catch a fish. Book this place with confidence, you will have a great time just relaxing and recharging.

I chose Site 9 and felt very secluded. I had forgotten firewood but didn't have any issues with finding enough deadfall to burn for the weekend. The site was very well maintained and my son and I loved the trails. Once it got dark, we fell asleep to coyote calls and crickets. This was our second time to 5D and I don't see us going anywhere else for a quick weekend get away!

Friendly & helpful hosts! Family of 5. Site 24 was secluded and spacious. We fished, took the paddle boats out on the big pond and enjoyed meeting the horses! Beautiful property, quiet and large! We can’t wait to go back!! We chose not to drive my SUV back to the site because the driving trail had several branches hanging at the time.
