This is our family farm, though you probably will not see us much. The campsite is located on a corner of the property on Cummins Creek and once you get there you will feel secluded in nature. Matt grew up here swimming, fishing and exploring in this creek...the creek has taught him more about life than anyone ever could. I hope that you too can understand why we always walk alway feeling like this is a very special spot! Simply Wyldwood is a 10-acre homestead and mindful living retreat including a food forest at the edge of the woodland and an 800-square-foot movement space called My Yoga Barn. My Grandparents purchased this property in the '70s and my Grandfather wanted to live from the land and my Grandmother loved her community, bluebonnets, and roadrunners. You can camp in the Yoga Barn or bring your own tent and sleep outside. During your stay, you are invited to relax or roll out your mat for yoga on the shaded deck or sun deck, in the Yoga Barn in the AC, and book a private Yoga/Meditation class or Mindful Forest Bathing Experience from your host who is an instructor in both. Enjoy strolling through the trails on the property and touring the food gardens viewing chickens roaming on the way. There is a full bath in the Barn and a private hot/cold outdoor shower to use to cool off during the day and has a lovely view of the stars overhead at night. There is outdoor seating on the deck of the Yoga Barn along with a ping-pong table and gas grill. Meals are outside on the deck. You can bring your own food or visit a neighboring restaurant. I had a really great time camping here. Traveled down from Kansas City in my camper van, and was welcomed by both Beaux and Hollis, who were incredibly nice, and accommodating people. They made sure to give me a tour of the campsite, and gave me a list of items to discover in a scavenger hunt through their very well-cared for forest walk, which was full of wildlife and beautiful scenery. As a musician coming through for some rest, and inspiration.. I found The Happy Horse to fit my needs perfectly. This place is truly a gem. I could not recommend staying here enough, and will 100% be back. Thank for everything Hollis & Beaux! Brandell

I do not even know where to start... Amazing! Peaceful! Perfect! The grounds are beautiful and the hosts are tentative, knowledgeable, and great conversationalist! Chairs, lights, firewood, picnic table, fire ring. Hollis came by right before sunset and turned on all my christmas lights for me. She let me know there would be a late check in as well, as not to spook me when they arrived since I was alone. Bathrooms were all well kept and the shower... the shower. I could write a review on just the shower alone. Highly recommended this little gem of a place.

King and 2 twin beds, plus table that seats 4. Outhouse is 30 ft from front porch,
and enclosed but open to the sky hot water shower is around behind the bungalow.

I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Horse Camp! The cabins have a lovely, quaint vibe and are clean with a solid set of amenities. Showers and bathrooms are available, and the on site nature walk with the scavenger hunt is very fun. Beaux and Hollis went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. I proposed to my fiance and they helped set up the proposal location on the nature walk. My fiance was very suprised and it made for a magical day:) Huge thanks to Beaux and Hollis for their help and responsiveness.

Lovely, peaceful campsite near the Colorado River, with plenty of room to spread out. We got lucky—we were the only ones camping so had the place to ourselves all weekend. Bridget was a fantastic and welcoming host, immediately responding to all of our questions and requests. Electric hookup at site and communal bathhouse and dish washing area were great amenities. We loved our time here and will definitely return!

Simple campsites, owners are super nice. The property is kept and feels very safe. The bathroom and outdoor shower are what you would expect for a campground, but many of the doors don’t quite shut all the way. Overall great spot to camp!

This is the perfect country retreat along the Colorado River! We stayed in the fancy river shack and the accommodations were absolutely amazing. The 1st night I used the outdoor grill which was perfect along with a fire pit evening. The host delivered two bundles of firewood immediately upon request at $10 a bundle. The second night was too windy for a fire but it was still great. The River Shack is just a short walk down to the river bank and there are two tent and camping sites close to the shore with their own amenities. All sites are peacefully and perfectly placed to provide a woodsy country private and tranquil get away feel. The River Shack itself is so attractive and the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom are perfect and modern, and can be compartmentalized with sliding doors. Three flat-screen TVs across the jacuzzi room, living room, and bedroom were great, along with a desk area for your laptop with wifi. Last and of course, the jacuzzi room lets you know you are "Glamping" in ultimate style and country grace! I literally watched the morning news with coffee in the jacuzzi! Why not! With nature watching I saw 10 deer total throughout my stay and a Cow! My Lady and family will return one day and get some fishing done!

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

Tent camping was groovy! Polite staff. Saw that we had a campfire going & delivered some additional wood to our campsite. Dog was welcome & treated kindly by staff. Great experience.

The boats are meant for one but there's just enough room for a friend (provided it's a dog).

2 nights at Matt B.’s Land Treehouse!!

Super great place!! I was by myself and felt safe and enjoyed the tranquil scenery with tons of birds and wild life. The creek was perfect! Host were available if I needed anything. I will definitely be going back!!

Camping at Geronimo's land reminded me of camping as a Boy Scout in my early teens. It was awesome to share the nostalgia with my daughter as we roasted marshmallows over the campfire. We were able to enjoy all that the place had to offer, like the rope swing into the frigid Colorado river, fishing poles available at the riverside, the strategically placed hammock providing a peaceful, relaxing view of the water and even the little old play park. Our stay was uninterrupted, except for the welcomed firewood delivery on the first night. This facilitated the great Daddy-Daughter Camping tradition we have come to enjoy annually. PS. This is not glamping, this place is for REAL CAMPERS (you know yourselves).

We absolutely loved camping here. Both Hollis and Beaux are AMAZING hosts. Extremely responsive and kind people. The site was beautiful. We stayed at site 4, surrounded by trees, but still able to see the stars. Beautiful lights wrapped around the tree and equipped with a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. It was truly such an amazing campsite. The outhouses were well maintained and there was even a hot water shower, also well maintained. The whole campgrounds itself is beautiful and has such a wonderful vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1.
