Our inspiration for Back Forty RV Park comes from our Dad, JT Lindsey.
J.T. and wife Lucille bought these 40 acres of land in 1972, moved their family into the farm house desperately needing attention, and raised their three children here. JT worked his entire life in agriculture as a farmer and cattle rancher. He was smart, hard working, and very mechanically inclined-he could fix anything! He was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar, and a good cup of coffee, but he loved his family the most. Summer vacation was RVing in Colorado, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alabama, South Dakota and Florida but only after harvest was done and the fields were plowed!
Daddy was taken from us way too soon, but his love and affection for his family has remained with us through the years. His image appears in our signs and logos taken from our favorite photo. It’s our hope you feel like you are coming back home at Back Forty RV Park.
Back Forty RV Park is a local owned park located in Quanah, Tx. Conveniently on US Hwy 287 between Amarillo and Dallas/Fort Worth. Our rural Texas location has wide open skies, amazing sunsets and beautiful sunrises. We offer a quiet, clean and friendly park for an overnight visit or long term resident who is working in the area. Park sits on 40 acres and includes 40 gravel pads, 12 pull thru and 28 back-ins.

The Happy Acre is our home which sits on an acre of land on the edge of our quant, lovely little town of Vernon, TX. We are conveniently located as Hwy 287 runs directly thru Vernon. We are 45 minutes from Wichita Falls and 3 hours from Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Oklahoma City with the Oklahoma border being 30 miles away. There are plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. We have plenty of space and offer both primitive and RV camping. We are pet and human friendly as long as all of well behaved! We just enjoy meeting new people and sharing our love of travel, music, art, and food with all! We hope to meet you soon!

Happy Acre is such a wonderful site to stay at, and I couldn’t recommend it enough! Carl welcomed us onto his property, showed us around, and was super social!! It was great to get to know him and chat, and it was also great that when it was time for bed he completely respected our space. His garage (where the accessible bathroom is) is clearly a space that has received so much love, life, and attention. For all my fellow campers out there: please consider staying here!!

I stayed with Carl and Stacy on my bicycle trip across the US. Upon arrival I was greeted by Carl. He was super accommodating and made sure I had everything I needed. I had a wonderful night rest at Happy acre. I highly recommend staying with Carl and Stacy.
