With a little bit of planning, a healthy dose of the adventurous spirit, your camping will make you crave more. Here's some items to think about: Water, toiletries, privacy tents, fire starters, cooking utensils, pots and pans, stove, fuel, utensils, first-aid kit, sunscreen, bug spray, sleeping bag, pillow, backpack, chairs, ice chest, trash bags. 38mi from Cameron · 11 sites · Tents, RVs
McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We offer a self-serve farm stand for our customers with fresh eggs, jelly and even pasture raised chicken - all produced on the farm. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Camp Joy offers guests two docks available to use for fishing, lounging, getting in and out of kayaks on the property. The one shown was built as handicap accessible. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

Come and enjoy our beautiful Sunsets and Grand Risings views with breath taking Natural Amenities. L7 Cattle Ranch Plus was purchased for farming and raising cattle. The property will also be use to host disabled Veterans as a retreat to give them a place to what I call (just be). Learn more about this land: The Farm and the surrounding farms have trees, vegetation, animals, birds, and cattle. One of my great personal experience on the farm was taking a picture of a Bobcat.  We have deer and turkeys that roam the farm as well.  There is also a natural stream and a pond that we are working on to repair and fill.

In the heart of Killeen, we have a small RV park with electric hookups and a dump station. Convenient to all amenities in Killeen and Fort Hood, we're a great option for short-term stays in the city. We're available 7 days a week, and we'd love to accommodate your stay in Killeen. These are very basic RV sites - a flat area to park with electric hookups. We don't have typical RV park amenities (tables, BBQ pits, restroom facilities, recreation options, etc). We're a bare bones option for short-term stays. This RV park is managed by the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.
