And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

Large space with normal toilet. We stayed on the ranch side, which was closer to Makayla's house. There is also a river side which is more secluded. We utilized the fire pit, the bathroom, and some of the table space made available to us. The property was easy to find, and Makayla was reachable through phone calls. We did small daytrip into town, which was very close to the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others.

We loved camping on Regena’s land. She met us on the driveway and took us to our campsite. She picked one out for us that’s mostly grass, a nice newer picnic table, bucket potty that she emptied out for us, fire ring and trash bin. Her property was so private, Regena was the only person we saw. We loved the two nights we were there. Easy drive to Waco, we went antique store shopping and went to the Silos. Would highly recommend.

1 night at McDonald Farm on the River

This is a farm. For those that enjoy dispersed camping, this is it. No one else there so I had the run of the place. As described, I was met by the owner as I came up the drive, got a quick property tour and history, met the new baby pigs, was greeted by chickens and the old brown farm dog that came to check on me a couple of times. Fire pits were located throughout the property with plenty of firewood around for the choosing. Very clean portapotty. They have showers but I didn’t use them so I can’t comment. The main drawback is the proximity to Hwy 29. As noted in the description, it is not unnoticeable but by about 6:30 or 7, it calmed down a lot. I was just there on a spur of the moment , quick, overnighter to check the place out and to field test a couple of new pieces of camping equipment. It’s only a 15 mile trip from my home, so nice and easy. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ve had a couple of questionable Hipcamp experiences, but this was not one of them . Weekend Trip to Coyote Creek Farm

We had a great time at Regena's place! It was our first trip with our youngster, so it was a bit of a trial run. Everything went great. Regena is close by and easy to get a hold of, but doesn't impede on you at the same time. She is a fantastic host- super nice and accommodating. Exactly the type of host you want. The location is outside of the city and is rural, but is also only a 12 minute drive to the grocery store for when you realize you forgot your coffee, like I did. There are some houses relatively close to the RV site, but all the properties have acreage, so the closest is about about a hundred yards away and is hidden behind trees, even in winter months when the trees aren't bloomed. Overall we enjoyed it very much and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Beautiful farm! We can't wait to return and enjoy all of the amenities. The common area is fully loaded with every cooking device you'll ever need. The host was very friendly and accommodating.

1 night at Rusty Acres

Well this was a very pleasant spot. Quiet and private. The site was gravel and nicely leveled. It had a fire pit, nice turf off the gravel pad and twinkle lights at night. The neighbors farm animals were just so cute. It has a brook also. Just lovely. The host was also so very nice. 😊 When we come through texas we eould love to stay again.

2 nights at KW Equine Sanctuary and Ranch

This ranch is an absolute gem. Each horse has a story with so many being rescued and are now thriving! There are ample opportunities to interact with the animals and enjoy the surroundings including a beautiful night sky. Amber has an incredible place to escape and reset- I will definitely be adding this to my rotation!

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

Gorgeous piece of land! We pitched a tent at the RV spot and the views were gorgeous. The fire pit was great with the built in grill, making our campfire meals easy. The river was beautiful and clear and we had a blast catching fish and little frogs in our nets and cooling off. The animals were wonderful too, and my 6 year old son can’t stop talking about riding the horses! (The more reluctant 4 year old had fun too, even if he didn’t want to admit it.) It was so sweet that they let us hang out with the new sweet litter of puppies as much as we wanted! If you’re staying here within the next few months, beware… you might accidentally take home a new family member!

It's a very beautiful property. You can tell by the young planted oaks and nicely kept camp sites, they want the place to be a nice place for people to enjoy for a long time. Regina was very nice. She even gave us a thank you card for staying there. Me and my son recommend staying here at some point.

Weekend Trip to McDonald Farm on the River

Macdonal Farm RV camp is an absolute gem! The location is perfect just a short drive from Austin, making it super convenient yet still peaceful. The facilities are spotless, with super clean hot showers that felt amazing after a long day. The farm itself is beautiful and full of friendly animals: adorable chickens and pigs, and our favorite a sweet horse named Ginger. The owners were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It was the perfect boondock spot for our canper van. The ground was level with plenty of open space, giving us privacy while still being close enough to hear a bit of highway traffic in the distance. The highlight of the night? The biggest bonfire we’ve ever seen, thoughtfully put together by the owners. It made for an unforgettable evening under the stars. Highly recommend this spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Great spot not too far from Houston. Quiet and relaxing lake. Local dogs will break into anything they can, so be careful—we forget to lock our camping box. Overall, peaceful location we hope to visit often Also, Granpops down the road has legit hamburgers!.

Every store or restaurant you could imagine was 5 minutes away. The sewer dump station was kinda hard to find until I finally read the directions and it was easy then. Price was very reasonable and site 1 was excellent. Stayed Friday until Sunday for great grandkids birthday party. The rv area was very well lit and clean.
