Please note that this site does not provide water, electricity, or toilet facilities. The land slopes downhill until you reach the bottom, offering a picturesque view of the Bluff on the other side of Red Bluff Creek. With over 600 feet of frontage along Red Bluff Creek and a wet weather creek meandering through the property (refer to attached survey), nature lovers will find plenty to admire. Important notes: The vintage airstream and ski boat on the property are not for guest use. The road leading to the property's bottom can be rough, especially after rain, with large/deep scars. McDonald Farm

We are now offering daytime river access to the San Gabriel River! This is a secluded, hike to spot for fishing, swimming, grilling, picnicing, and hanging out during the day. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee, or we offer day passes for non-campers! There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Highway 29 and the many quaint and scenic country roads that intersect it is popular with cyclists wanting to go for longer rides and enjoy the sights of central Texas and the many historical farms in the area. There is excellent bird-watching and wildlife-viewing opportunities on the property. We frequently see white-tailed deer, as well as other wildlife and many species of birds. There is road noise. There is also a native sweat lodge built that only requires blankets to cover it. This site is closest to the outhouse. If you like to be further away from the hustle and bustle and appreciate more primitive camping, try the CEDAR CREEK Site at the back of the property. This site is near the (seasonal) bubbling creek, under the shade of the Juniper trees. There is a 10x 6ft shade tent with table and optional extension cord for use. (Request power upon booking) If you like a little more action in your campouts we do occasional music events on site. Ask about those dates when booking. We have a water hose for potable water on property and an open air private outhouse in the trees. We have a strict trash Pack in/pack out all trash and pet waste policy. Leave sites better then you found them and don't cut down anything that is growing. No burn bans if you use the rocked pits and put the fire out before you leave/sleep. Once completed, our property will boast walking and hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, a serene pond, complete privacy, a designated Dark Sky site, and numerous photo ops (natural at this point, more to come). Additionally, we provide full RV hookups (30-50 amp), convenient drive-thru gravel sites, and guests will soon have the option to rent our lodge. Surrounded by Prairie Mountain, Live Oak Mountain, and House Mountain, our growing site promises a unique and picturesque setting for your solar eclipse experience. We are brand new and are having a soft opening for the Eclipse. Our RV sites are ready to go; our lodge and some aspects of the park are still under construction and will not be open for rental or accessible to guests during this event. Our Grand Opening is slated for late June 2024.

Come park your RV on our property, full equipped with electrical, water, and sewage hookups. The spaces are level and you will park on loose gravel. Please note, these are back-in sites. This is a great plug-and-play spot so that you can spend more time getting outdoors and exploring the area! There is fire pit provided for you to build campfires and toast marshmallows. You can also have a bite to eat at the picnic table provided. We hope you'll enjoy this hill country camping as much as we do! We are located in Spicewood, TX - which is about 45 minutes Northwest of Austin. There is so much to explore in this area - we are near Lake Travis, Pace Bend Park, Pedernales Falls State Park (7 minutes from Pedernales River!), The Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, Krause Springs, and more! Opportunities to go swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking are all around. Other Things to Note: - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception and wifi are both available on our property. Feel free to unplug during your stay though! - You will likely see other campers/visitors during your stay, the sites are not private. There are 2-3 RV spaces located within the same area. - There is spigot/tap water available on the property. - There is no toilet onsite.
