3 nights at El Cosmico

We stayed here three nights, went down to Terlingua/Big Bend for three nights then didn’t hesitate to stay at El Cosmico again on our way back. We slept in our van in the lot one night and tent camped the other nights. The lounge with wifi was wonderful for getting some work done or just enjoying the complimentary coffee in the morning. The outdoor kitchen came in handy to do some dishes and make tea in the evening. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean and much appreciated. Yes, there’s some road noise, but it didn’t hurt our enjoyment of El Cosmico.

El Cosmico is a great option for anyone wanting to stay in Marfa. Self-camping is easy with access to good restrooms and a lovely space to hang out in. They also have great coffee served in the morning! Our only complaint was the noise. It’s near a busy road, very close to a train, lots of barking from dogs, and the people around us were a bit loud. These noises could be minimized if you camp in a spot away from the path and further from the bathrooms though!

This was a fun stop over on our way to Big Bend NP. Easy to find and close to town. Friendly staff.

The solar shower worked great, the site is well landscaped and attractive and we enjoyed the friendly staff and cute store.

Great location and overall a pretty cool spot. Has free coffee in the morning too. If you're bringing an RV/camper just know RV spots are in the parking lot excluded from the general camping area.

Tent camping at el cosmico with 2 kids was easy and fun. We were there in early March and it was very quiet only a few other tents. The location is great for checking out Marfa and surrounding region including Fort Davis. Outdoor shower was perfect and common spaces were fun to hang out in. You are right off a main road so there is some road noise but overnight was pretty quiet.

Know before you go- RV camping is in the parking lot with no hookups. So if you're bringing an RV you won't be in the actual campground. Otherwise it's a pretty cool spot and I enjoyed my stay. Great location and free coffee in the morning. I recommend

El Cosmico is eclectic and charming and the staff is very accommodating. It is an easy walk or bike to town. We set up camp near to the office for WIFI. But it was definitely the busy end of the parking lot. The lounge is very comfortable especially when there's a cup of coffee involved!

We cruised into Marfa on our way to Big Bend in late February, so we were able to enjoy tent camping with only one quiet neighbor. There are so many options for lodging onsite, I don’t know if it would be a good match for someone seeking quiet during their busy season, although signs with ‘quiet hours starting at 10 pm’ are posted. The camp is between a road and railroad tracks. Train whistles were infrequent. The store has an area with couches that we were able to relax in, which was super appreciated with the low evening temperatures. Very conveniently located near Chinati, which we had never heard of, but were glad we took the time to check out. One thing to note is that many places in Marfa are not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Great vibes and easy to get in and out. The front office was friendly and clean!

3 nights at “Roble Perdido” private RV site

We loved everything about El Cosmico. Really cool place, with pristine bathrooms and showers and delicious coffee. The parking was leveled and big enough to accomodate various campers while still feeling private. You are next to a road which may be a bit noisy, however, there's very little traffic at night. The staff at the lobby were really nice and the music they played there was great!

Sweet camp spot close to downtown Marfa! We enjoyed sitting outside at the picnic table and taking in the scenery. The walk downtown was easy. Definitely recommend!

This place is awesome. If you’re staying in marfa it’s a no brainer. Booking here is obviously dispersed camping but they have so many cool housing options. The layout of the place is awesome with plenty to explore. The lobby area is great to lounge in and they serve tea/coffee every morning. Id love to come back for the music festival they do. Definite book, super easy, super safe, super fun place to stay

Very cool spot! Would definitely recommend if you're visiting Marfa.
