The toilet functions when temperatures are above 20°F, and a backup porta-potty is available just in case. Our main heat source is a wood-burning stove, adding to the cozy, rustic mountain experience. Winter rates are lower to reflect these seasonal changes and reduced amenities. If you’re seeking a true off-grid adventure and love unplugging in nature, this is it! 🌲🔥 If running water and traditional comforts are important to you, we recommend booking during another time of year. Peter has a truly special little spot, tucked away in the mountains. We loved every moment of it. During our stay, there was a day where it rained nonstop. We never had to leave the treehouse and stayed dry, cozy and entertained. We never felt trapped inside because of the beautiful view and the open porch area. Peter was kind, helpful and responsive. And his sweet pup Molly was always available for a play session with our dog. It was such a relaxing stay and we hope to be back soon! Thank you again, Peter! Give Molly some love from us.

Peter’s place was absolutely fantastic. Mountain view was immaculate, and the communication was top-notch from start to finish. The property had everything we needed and all the amenities you could ask for. It was the perfect balance of feeling like we were truly camping while still having the comfort and convenience of electricity. Easy access to the lake made it even better and was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Everything was clean, convenient, and exactly what we were hoping for. 10/10 experience — we’ll absolutely be back!

Definitely would recommend to splurge and get Tree Solo for some extra privacy. Everything was clean and well kept. The bed was super comfy and we enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch. The only downside to the site is that the fire pit is on a hill so there really isn’t any great place to sit in a chair next to the fire without it tipping over.

This was a beautiful place. It was close to Knoxville and to Sevierville, but out of the traffic. It was very close to I40, and was very easy to find, even in the dark. You could hear the interstate traffic from the property, but not bad enough to inhibit sleep if you ran a fan or something. I was a little hesitant at first about the (outdoor) shower, which I had to ask about in order to locate. It's on the front of the stable building, which feels very exposed. That's the side of the building that faces the road, and incoming drive. However, there was no traffic in there at night time and we were usually the only guests. I just used it at night time, and it was actually kind of nice since you could see the stars some. The water was plenty hot, and it was a nice shower head. I could see this being a little awkward if you were there with many other guests and/or they were having maybe a wedding or other similar event out there at the same time. The "stable" looks set up inside for a wedding venue. So, I assume that's what it's usually used for. I stayed at the tent/cabin that was up the road from the other 3, which are fairly close together, and it was very private up there. However, the hill up there is pretty steep, and there isn't anywhere flat to park. That may not matter to most people, since they probably plan to sleep in the tent/cabin, but I let my dad sleep in there and I needed to crash in my converted van. So, I had to seek flatter ground. Just something to note.

Amazing view and everything you need to rest/cook comfortably for a few days. Even with occasional rain, the kids were entertained the entire time. We loved the various swings, indoor and out, all with beautiful views. Outdoor kitchen has everything you need to cook, prepare, and eat with. Literally all you need to take are your personal items, food, some propane, firewood and maybe a jug of filtered water. Really enjoyed the whole property and help from Peter.

Everything was perfect! Peter and his wife were so welcoming. They gave us excellent recommendations, and were so accommodating. Molly was so funny too. Love to see them again! Amazing views. Best view is from one of the bedrooms. It's basically a home away from home. A beautiful place for our first trip together. Bring dog treats. They have plenty of blankets for the winter temperatures!

Close to Knoxville, and about an hour from popular Great Smoky Mountains trailheads. Great location to disconnect without being too far from the city or dealing with the traffic in the park.

We enjoyed our stay the cabin is beautiful. The host are amazing. The mini Highlands are definitely the favorite of the trip. They enjoyed being groomed and petted and loved on. Look forward to a possible return trip in the spring.

This a very unique and cozy treehouse cabin in a beautiful location, right by Lake Glenville. It is a comfortable space with lots of amenities for a fun weekend in the mountains, and feels very secluded surrounded by woods and at a high elevation. Despite being there in rainy weather, it was beautiful with all the fall foliage! And Peter is a very friendly and welcoming host. I would certainly recommend a visit!

This Treehouse/ Overlook was just right for glamping - all accommodations and ease of use! Warm space to sleep with WiFi, open air kitchen with full accessories, heated full bathroom and shower while being able to enjoy the view of the mountains and nature. Instructions and directions are well thought out and posted for everything. Layout is an easy walk and well designed - great place to to relax and just enjoy your time! Weekend Trip to Mountaintop Fantasy Treehouse +

We had such a great time at the treehouse! The view is absolutely stunning; none of the pictures do it justice. We visited during peak leaf season, and it was beautiful. The location is perfectly secluded and private, yet close enough to enjoy all the attractions in Highlands and Cashiers if you want to explore. We went with three adults and three kids (2, 4 & 5) and the cabin had plenty of space for everyone. Our first night there was much colder than what we were used to coming from home, but the space heaters kept us nice and toasty! Most of our time was spent around the fire and on the swings. The treehouse was stocked with more utensils and appliances than we could have ever needed, and it was such a treat to have a flushing toilet and hot water. The highlight for our kids, though, was the hosts’ adorable puppy, Molly! She hung out with us most of the time and completely stole our hearts (and a couple shoes) but we loved every second of it. The kids were so sad to leave her when it was time to go. The host was wonderful. He checked in frequently and was always available when we had questions, but never overbearing. He left us fresh eggs when we arrived and even had firewood available for purchase when we realized we’d forgotten ours. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 10/10 recommend this magical spot!
