Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family.
Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile.
Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy.
Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

It started as a simply place to get away for the family but then family and friends started asking to use our Kabin so the rest is history. My brother and I built it from the ground up and did our best to replicate a 100+ year old mountain cabin. We do hope you enjoy the peace and quiet you'll get when staying at Keira's Kabin.Learn more about this land:If you want to get away from the hussle and bussle of today's busy schedule, this is the place. Surrounded by woods, nature and lots of wildlife. Keira's Kabin sits down in a very quiet area on the property along side a spring fed creek. It's very easy to get to and can accomodate up to 4 people. The bunk bed allows 1 person to sleep up top and 2 people to sleep on the bottom. There's also a lounge chair that folds out that another person can sleep on. All the bedding is available at the cabin, but if you want to bring your sleeping bags, you are more than welcome to. There are some eating utensils available as well as a variety of cooking tools (frying pan, tongs, spachulas, etc). You can choose to use the campfire to cook or you can use the propane camp stove if you choose. We also have a hot dog and hamburger holder, popcorn maker, marshmellow spears and sandwich makers that are used for cooking over the campfire. There is great cell service at the cabin but no wifi. Other area services include, Kengo gas station near the entrance of the property and within 7-10 minutes you can be in town to get anything you need. The secured shelter is located atop the ridge on our property. The hiking trail is 0.46 miles long with an elevation gain of 328 feet. I can pack in your gear and provide transport for young children with my ATV.
There is no electricity, but water and an outhouse are available. Inside, you’ll find a wood stove for cold weather and an outdoor fireplace on the porch. The shelter includes two indoor bunks with camping pads provided, along with two hammock hooks on the porch.
The indoor space measures 10x10 feet, with a front porch of the same size. A fire ring with grill and some basic cookware are available—please bring your own utensils. A bear cable is on site for securing food (we do have one known bear in the area).

We will definitely be nearly stay here again. This place is beyond cool and has been owned by the same family for generations. I especially appreciate the wonderful home cooked meals and the ambiance of the creek and wild life. This family is also extremely knowledgeable about geology and high-quality coffee. If you are in the area and you pass this place up. You need to ask yourself, “what am I doing with my life”. This is a once in a lifetime kinda place.

We really enjoyed the glamping experience at Clare! When we first arrived on the property, we were greeted by horses that were lined up on the fence. The tent was well equipped with solar lighting on the porch, battery for chargers, lanterns, easy availability to purchase fire wood. We appreciated the camping potty near the tent in the middle of the night, just wasn’t sure what to do with the used bags as there wasn’t instructions in the welcome folder. The outdoor shower was a fun experience and the view of the stars was magnificent!

This was a beautiful place. It was close to Knoxville and to Sevierville, but out of the traffic. It was very close to I40, and was very easy to find, even in the dark. You could hear the interstate traffic from the property, but not bad enough to inhibit sleep if you ran a fan or something. I was a little hesitant at first about the (outdoor) shower, which I had to ask about in order to locate. It's on the front of the stable building, which feels very exposed. That's the side of the building that faces the road, and incoming drive. However, there was no traffic in there at night time and we were usually the only guests. I just used it at night time, and it was actually kind of nice since you could see the stars some. The water was plenty hot, and it was a nice shower head. I could see this being a little awkward if you were there with many other guests and/or they were having maybe a wedding or other similar event out there at the same time. The "stable" looks set up inside for a wedding venue. So, I assume that's what it's usually used for. I stayed at the tent/cabin that was up the road from the other 3, which are fairly close together, and it was very private up there. However, the hill up there is pretty steep, and there isn't anywhere flat to park. That may not matter to most people, since they probably plan to sleep in the tent/cabin, but I let my dad sleep in there and I needed to crash in my converted van. So, I had to seek flatter ground. Just something to note.

Hot tub with the movie screen was so fun! Campground was quiet & our site was secluded. We visited the Natural Tunnel state park nearby & were blown away. Great Appalachian adventure!

Weekend Trip to Camp LeConte
My family and I had such a wonderful time! They take very good care of their property and are super friendly! The caretaker takes such excellent care of the facility by far one of the cleanest camping bathrooms and showers ever! Slept comfortably! Can't wait for next time!

5 nights at GlampKnox Canvas Campground
We were pleasantly surprised with how wonderful our stay was at GlampKnox! We were expecting the basics of glamping i.e. Temperate Shower, the reinforced tent, and nice beds. However, GlampKnox takes it to the next step for their residents providing us with all the goodies we didn't think we would have: a power bank, fresh towels, a lantern, indoor trash can, and a HOT shower! On top of everything, throughout the extended stay the hosts did a wonderful job responding to and providing our needs whether firewood, water, or charging bank while promptly cleaning and resetting the other sites for the next guest.

The campground was wonderful, the tents were nice but could use some deep cleaning as there were some mold spots. My only complaint is that there was soo much noise from helicopters and planes at night it was very hard to fall asleep.

The site was awesome. The tents are spaced far enough apart so you don’t hear anyone else. The tents are set up really nicely and the view of the smoky mountains is gorgeous.

Such a cozy cabin in a low flat field. Caution if it may have suffered from rain, the field may be soft. Ask for a PIN to follow on Google Maps to the actual site because it's not at the address or pin that Hipcamp provides. Positives vibes come with the cabin, the peaceful pond, and the country setting !
