What an amazing campground this is! I chose a primitive tent site A1 and was so glad I did. The tent pad was perfect; mostly level. I was glad for the tiny slope, as it allowed all the rain to flow down from under my ground tarp and 3 season tent. I stayed 100% dry. The outhouses were very clean. And the update B bathhouse was heated and immaculate! I didn’t think I would use it/need it, but a warm shower after the cold rain was a treat. Staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful and informed about nearby trails. This is a place I look forward to returning to!!

Weekend Trip to Camping at Defender's Retreat
Beautiful property with serene and quiet spots. The drive to our campsite was smooth, and easy to find with gravel the majority of the way. I didn’t use the shower facilities, but they looked nice.

Nice campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Plenty of trees for your hammock. Full hookups were nice. Pretty in the fall. Only drawback was the sites were a little tight and it took a few tries to get in. If you have a long trailer, it might be difficult.

Weekend Trip to Camping at Defender's Retreat
The land is awesome. Weather was perfect, so we just slept outside the tent on the deck in a sleeping bag and hammock. We were there when their Halloween Haunted Woods was open, and that was amazing to experience!

We had a great time at Hawk's Nest. It was so peaceful and private. We packed a lot of our camping gear, just in case, but barely need to take anything out of the car. Our dogs loved running around and exploring. The bedroom was comfortable and we stayed warm even though the nights were chilly. The location is perfect for hiking. We were able to make it to both Burgess Falls and Rock Island. We hope to make it back and stay longer next time.

We had a great night in our yurt. It was cold and we forgot our pillows, but we still had fun. All the neighbors were considerate and no wild parties happened that night. We also got dinner at the snack shack and it was delicious. Will definitely again if we go back to the area.

A great place to Park an RV for a few days. Wide wooded lots. Peaceful and quiet area off the beaten path. Would definitely recommend Greeter Falls.

We loved our stay at the primitive camp sites! We had site #4, and it was nicely tucked away while still being very accessible to the porta potties / water. The only bummer we faced was that it said electricity was in easy walking distance and our map showed that it should’ve been near the porta potties, and we were unable to find an outlet (it could’ve been an us problem). We wanted to blowup our air mattress really quickly. We went back to the camp store to ask about it, and they had just told us to use an empty site quickly and head back to our site. This worked out just fine— just a minor inconvenience.
Other than that, things were great! The falls were very close and everything went smoothly.

We enjoyed our stay at Hawk's Nest. Dan and Jo were super to visit with and very accomodating. It was a pleasure to be on their beautiful farm and feel so warmly welcomed. The wild life around the property is amazing. We saw possums, a marching procession of armadillos, the friendly dog Martin, racoons, and heard so many owls at night. I recommend it for a camp get away that will get you super close to Cane Hollow Rec area where you can access the lake and kayak up to the base of Burgess Falls.

I had a great stay at the greeter falls primitive campground. The sites were well marked, porta potties were conveniently located and sanitary, I loved my spot because I was able to pull my car in next to the fire/picnic table and the hosts were so kind and easy to communicate with! I will be returning!

Weekend Trip to Greeter Falls Campground
The campground was a perfect weekend getaway, especially if you plan on doing some hiking! Camp was the perfect distance from some of the best trailheads in the area. As far as the campground goes, I have zero complaints about the campground or the staff. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were checked on each day to ensure that we were good and that we didn’t need anything such as firewood. The convenience of the bathhouses and electricity was also a nice touch. The only issue we ran into was noisy neighbors. We stayed in a yurt, and they were not as spaced out as we initially believed. With respectful neighbors it would have never been an issue because the campsites are unique and rather peaceful. However, once the sun went down, our neighbors chose to ignore the noise ordinance and broke out a projector and watched movies at an unreasonable volume until around midnight each night. I’d suggest the camp staff do a walk-through to ensure campers are following both the noise ordinance and the leash rules for pets. We also had a neighbor across the way with an untrained pup that mostly roamed free and struggled to listen to the owner's commands. Also, heard a lot of whining and whimpering when their pup was left unattended without any attention. I would highly recommend this campsite if you are a hiker because of the close proximity to the trailhead; however, if you’re looking for something more remote, quiet, and peaceful, I would contact the camp host to allow t

We are first timers and Matt has been very helpful even before arriving at the camp site. Very clean and well maintained. We felt secluded at the same time, we felt safe. We were able to see the beautiful stars in our 2 nights we stayed there. Bathroom is squeaky clean. They also have dog parks around the campground. Very near the Greeter Falls entrance. Also, Christal’s sirloin burger is the bomb. Will definitely be back.
