It's important to know that this is a raw and challenging terrain. It's a mountain or some may say a hill. We call it a mountain because of the rock bluffs, cliffs, and dramatic nature of this spot. As such, there are cliffs you could fall off, trails that are difficult and dangerous at times depending on your hiking skill level. This loft perfectly met our needs for a quick, comfortable stopover mid road trip! The appliances all seemed new, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and our fur babies had plenty of space to move around. The host seemed experienced and thoughtful with little touches around the loft (ice in the freezer, shampoo in the shower, hot chocolate and mugs ready for a nice treat, tv on a swivel arm so you can watch from the bed, gate on the patio to keep your dog contained etc) and clear instructions for where to find everything and what to expect. The craftsmanship around the loft was also impressive (well built doors, countertops etc). We would definitely stay here again!

This little cabin was perfectly situated among the trees up among the mountains. Nice and private, with the perfect backyard clearing for a great fireside experience. A babbling creek running through the back made for beautiful ambient sound of water running, and offered a spot to cool off your toes. Inside the cabin there’s a wood stove to warm up to— we stayed outside enjoying nature so late into the night that we didn’t end up lighting it. But next time we come to stay, we surely will. 4 nights at Black House Mountain Campground
I can not say how impressed I was with this cozy little cabin. There was everything that I could have needed. A small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. I loved all the small things like plenty of lights above, with additional lamps on the tables, towels, toiletries like shampoo and stuff, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. The beds were so soft because they were memory foam and included sheets, pillow and comforter. I had brought my own bedding so theirs was not needed. AC was nice and cold, hot water was hot! The management was so nice and responsive also. Also loved how close we were to everything. I will 100% be staying at this little get away on my next trip. I highly recommend you staying here.

Perfect off grid, private, comfortable cabin located in a great location to explore eastern Tenn. The Cumberland gap has dozens of unique places to explore. Having the cabin with its little creek running through the property as base camp was wonderful. Will visit again soon.

Group trip
This was the best off grid cabin we have ever stayed at. Directions were spot on, very accommodating with fire wood and propane stove. Will absolutely be back again next time we are in Tennessee.

Our family had a blast. Very private and clean and the creek was awesome. Easy to find and simple to get access to the cabin. I know they don't promise to have split wood available, but they did and it was appreciated.
