We had an amazing stay! We cannot say enough good things about the warm welcome and hospitality we received. Our site was absolutely peaceful and beautiful. Hearing the waterfall at night, mixed with seeing all the fireflies, was magical. We will definitely be back!

Amazingly peaceful and idyllic, steps away a babbling creek. Loved it. Have to say, the owner totally understands the assignment. He was attentive and communicated very well. We are relatively new RVers and got ourselves stuck in the mud. He spent an hour getting us out of the mud and gave us a few driving tips beside. Class act!! Don't pass this one up!!

Weekend Trip to The Falls at Sewanee Creek

Our camping getaway was just what we needed at the Treetent campsite! The directions take you to Grant's house to get check in. He was so kind and welcoming! He led us to our site, and gave us great information and tips to enjoy our stay. Our tent was roomy, clean, and dry. The area had received some rain recently, and he made certain that everything was in order for us. We had some shared shower facilities with the site across from us. The guests at that site did not impact our stay at all. The creek was beautiful and the sound lulled us to sleep. We had a fire pit as well as a BBQ grill for cooking. Our sitting area was covered and shaded beneath the treetent. We walked less than 10 minutes following the creek to Miller's Falls which was beautiful! We also caught the sunset at the fairy trees. The mist filled the woods quickly after sunset. Checkout was quick and easy! We plan on camping here again!

The treehouse is very private, the sound of the waterfall was nice to enjoy when sitting on the back porch, you can’t see the waterfall from the treehouse, but you can hike down to it. The AC and shower in the treehouse are great

Weekend Trip to Caney Hollow Creek Retreat

Our stay was so peaceful and beautiful (site #3.) We were the only ones there so our old terrier lived his best life bouncing through the meadow. The creek was gorgeous but our absolute favorite magical experience was the firefly (or lightening bug) show each night. Literally like Christmas lights—the fireflies lit up in the 40 ft tall trees all around us. Super dark skies which makes for excellent star gazing. Hosts were perfect—immediately accessible when we needed them but gave us privacy for a much needed break from the grind. We love to visit new places and don’t often plan on visiting the same place twice, but this will be the exception. Cannot wait to return!

I loved tent camping here! The creek beside the campground was just perfect as well. We used our floaties to lay out on the creek and that was so much fun. The shade was a huge bonus especially during these hot summer months. We will be returning in the cooler months

I had a very peaceful weekend at Hammock S'way. The private forest was very pretty and it was great having such a large space to myself. The creek was a very quick walk from my site and it was perfect to sit or wade around in on a hot day. Bonuses: the swing over the river and Chris' farm fresh eggs.

Weekend Trip to The Falls at Sewanee Creek

My husband and I booked The Glamper for our Honeymoon and it was perfect! We were right next to the waterfall and could see it from the yurt! There is a lot to do in the area. Tons of waterfalls and places to hike! I definitely loved being able to unplug. Take a dip in the waterfalls, go to the nearby bakery and admire The Lords Creation!

6 nights at Hammock’Sway Private Off Grid Camp

If you're seeking off grid camping and do not require any frills then this might be the spot for you. Chris was very responsive with the booking and provided supportive directions. If bathing in the river, 100 foot whispering pines, and camp fires by night rocks your world, then you might want to book a weekend. If you want to see the stars of the cosmos brilliantly without light pollution then your in for a treat. You better pack your mosquito spray though, those critters are vicious in the open fields. I never broke out the can at my campsite, it just was not required. Happy Camping!

2 nights at The Falls at Sewanee Creek

Grant and Becky’s place was simply AMAZING. Most of the property had some type of alternative style bungalow. The waterfalls, the fairy Forrest, the trails. It was all beautiful. We stood in the treehouse for two nights and had an outstanding time. Highly recommend. Grant has some crazy stories if you get around to talking to him for a while.

We had a blast camping in our converted Skoolie but wish we knew that having four wheel drive / off road ability wouldve been ideal to get up the gravel hill road to access the sites. We made it happen tho and loved the caves. Super cool. Thanks Billy!

7 nights at Caney Hollow Creek Retreat

What a great hidden gem!!! We had just a short 2.5 hour drive to get here, and we were so excited to see it when we pulled in. Quiet, and serene, but with full hookups. We were the only ones there, so our two dogs got to run and play, a lot! :-) The wife and I have been looking for a place like this for a long time, and I think we just found it. Lindsey was a great host. Very hospitable, and easy to talk to. We appreciated the clean and friendly environment that he has to offer here.

It was fun to go tent camping here! There seemed to have been some left over things from other previous campers but nothing that was bothersome. The road up to the campsites was a little rugged but with AWD we made it through.

2 nights at Elk Head Overlook

My boyfriend, cousin, and I stayed for a couple of nights and it was perfect for what we needed. Gorgeous views and a nice flat spot for parking the little trailer we have.

Chattanooga is approximately 45 mins SE while McMinnville is about 30 mins NW. The Caverns, a wonderful music venue is about 40 mins away. Nashville is approximately 1hr 45mins NW.

Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

Elk Head Overlook

**Please note the address is 9665 SR 50, Pelham, TN 37301** The best part about this site are the views! Relax on the side of the Cumberland Plateau while overlooking Burroughs Cove and the Elk River. You can see the sites from the main road, if you find yourself on a gravel road for more than 50ft, STOP and verify the address. Sites 1/2 are hard graveled, heavy duty tent stakes are recommended along with mats/padding. There is an electrical box at each end of the hard graveled parking and tent areas (Sites 1 and 2) with 20- and 30-amp plugs, plus 110v. If the power is not working, please check the panel and turn on/reset the breakers, many of our guests turn them off when departing. If you are at Site #2 and the steps above do not work, please check/do the same at the Site #1 panel (it is the master power source). Water is NOT available on site. NOTE: Depending on the time of year (warmer months only) a water container with a limited amount of NON-POTABLE water is on site for your use. Please plan on filling your water reservoir(s) PRIOR to arriving. There is an outhouse for all guests, picnic tables and fire rings for Sites 1 and 2. The camping area is fairly close to SR-50 so please expect to hear some road noise, more so in the winter months. The entrance/driveway is on a small incline, if you are traveling in a light vehicle and a heavy camper, it's best to maintain a slow and steady speed to the camp site (for almost everyone, this is not an issue). If you are towing a camper, we recommend the total length of the vehicle and the trailer not exceeding 30ft, longer set ups can (and have been used) without issue. However, there is not a significant place to "turn around" at the sites and novice drivers (not used to backing out of tight spots with long rigs) may find this very challenging. There is a double gate that is usually closed, and latched so it stays closed, it is not "locked". The site is self-serve (not manned), Site #1 is to the left, Site #2 is to the right, and Site #3 is down the path past the outhouse at the bottom of the path. It is recommended that campers set up early for Site 3 (still daylight) to get an idea of the layout. Parking for Site #3 is by the shed at the main entrance and power is not available at the site.

The Land at FlatTop Mountain

Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire. Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold SEASONAL mountain creek for cooling off. Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which were unsuitable for use. The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite. Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway. It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site. Site 2 (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container. Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp. Both are equidistant to the outhouse. Please look through all of the listing information. The road into The Land is gravel and some bedrock; high ground clearance vehicles are best but all vehicles can make the journey. Very tough to navigate in the dark. GPS will NOT get you there, please do not use GPS or map on listing. We will send detailed directions the day before your booking. Follow those in the daylight and you'll be fine. Please know your poison ivy, ticks and copperheads; they all exist at The Land. Just drive slowly and navigate as needed. The buildings (*all buildings have recently been removed) on the land were built with lumber cut from the property. Previous owners farmed rabbits and had a system in place for water. The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does! Please read everything on this listing. Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land. We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post. It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks. Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware. Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood. We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood. DO NOT USE THE MAP LISTED OR GOOGLE MAPS. It will take you straight through water. Maclellan Island- An Urban Oasis

Maclellan Island is a unique 18.8-acre wildlife sanctuary situated in the middle of the Tennessee River, in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. It is accessible by water only. The island is home to a great diversity of plants, animals, and birds. Campers can enjoy easy wildlife viewing in a true urban wilderness setting. Muskrats, geese, and kingfishers can be seen feeding at the water’s edge, while the forest is home to songbirds, turkeys, raccoons, owls, possums, foxes, and woodpeckers. It's a great place to quietly watch nesting osprey and great-blue heron as well as an important feeding area for migrating warblers. IMPORTANT: Maclellan Island is accessible by boat ONLY. You will need to provide your own transportation to and from the island, either using your own boat or by renting a kayak/SUP from a local outfitter. We recommend renting kayaks from L2 Outdoors who launches from Coolidge Park. Maclellan Island’s earliest inhabitants were Indigenous People whose island community was likely an extension or suburb of Citico, a nearby village. Farmed in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, the island was plowed for many years and largely free of the trees which shade it today. Floods have covered the island from time to time and drove away numerous early settlers including one early farmer, Abel Kesterson, who survived rising waters in 1867 only by holding onto the horns of his cow as they swam to safety. The island eventually passed through the hands of several prominent companies as well as a number of more rambunctious inhabitants. Finally in 1954 Maclellan Island was donated to the Chattanooga Audubon Society by Robert J. Maclellan for preservation as a wildlife refuge. If you'll be arriving by a motorized boat, you will need to use a public boat ramp. The closest one is at the Tennessee River Park. Coolidge Park has a kayak/canoe/SUP launch and you can park cars in their parking lot overnight for a fee.

Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. Campsite #1, "Valley View" is a Rv with 30 amp electric with sewer and water or it can be a primitive campsite that is a wide open space and is approximately 1-2 acres with a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. We do have electric, sewer and water 340 gl tank with a hose, a picnic table and a fire ring at this site. if you'd prefer, you can locate a spot of your choosing off the beaten path anywhere within our 16 acres (ask the hostess for details). We now have rv hook up with a 30 amp electric service, sewer and water available. We have wildlife such as bobcats, coyotes, deer, owls, snakes, turkeys and rumor has it, maybe even a bigfoot. I hope you come enjoy friends, family and nature to make this an incredible experience.
