The rest of the house has complete access. Other things to note Questions I get occasionally from guests: one bedroom is on the main level. Once you get in the house it requires no additional stairs. 3 bedrooms have queen beds, the master has a king and except the lift has a daybed with a pop up trundle., usually it is set as twin beds. I loved my experience at the little barn house! The cabin itself was very cute, and the atmosphere was peaceful for a solo trip to escape city life. Jon was fabulous and incredibly helpful when I was needing some support. It was fun to have some animals nearby too, though hunting season is real, so something to keep in mind. Overall I am super grateful for my experience and would recommend it for anyone looking for a little getaway.

2 nights at Mountain Creek Rest

Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

3 nights at Mountain Creek Rest

I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this spot is. The stream, the trees, the quiet. I have camped in almost every state, and this is easily one of my favorite sites. The road in a bit bumpy, but doable. I easily made the trek in a civic. The road is also great for taking a scenic walk. The covered porch was perfect for a rainy afternoon, and the heater was a welcome addition on cool autumn evenings. Close to the stunning Joyce Kilmer Wilderness & Nantahala National Forest. I hope to come back again!

Cabin was absolutely gorgeous, Susan and her cleaning lady was very accommodating, especially considering we made last minute reservations. The cabin and location were pretty good, my only complaints would be that the gas fireplace didn't seem to work, and the hot tub was an inflatable tub instead of a full size hot tub, and we couldn't seem to find the remote for the downstairs television. These slight issues aside, the cabin itself was still quite lovely and we enjoyed our time there.

We loved this site! The creek is so peaceful and the cabin was perfect. The site is easy to find using Brian’s directions. I’d recommend getting there before the sun goes down because it is very dark (but great for stargazing!).

Perfect spot to disconnect and be in a serene place all weekend! PLEASE BEWARE there is a giant active yellow jacket nest right on the bank of the creek at the site. If you have kids or are allergic, just be mindful. Brian was very easy to communicate with. The directions he sends you beforehand are spot on and we had no problem getting there. We did download an “offline map” (iPhone) before we lost service which was great to use on the way out of there. Wasn’t necessary but it was helpful. Even during the day, the cabin is pretty dark so bring extra lighting. Everything was very clean. The wood stove kept it nice and cozy. We will definitely be back!
