We are located about 11 miles from exit 116 on interstate 40 in the beautiful farming community of Chesterfield, Tennessee where there's an abundance of wildlife including our own team of Khaki Campbell guard ducks and a piebald whitetail buck named Lucky who enjoys hanging out by the levee. Lake access is included with each site reservation. Life jackets required at all times for those with paddle please. Canoe rentals available upon request.
Camp sites 1-3, the boat ramp and main parking area are located at the main entrance and offer gravel roads and parking. Look for the LAL logo on the left gate post.
Camp site #4 the hiking trailhead and our back country campsites are located at the east entrance. Look for patriotic fence post near the road. If you end up traveling a long paved road that leads to a boat ramp with lots of parking, you zigged when you should have zagged. Turn around and lazy acres is across from where that road ends. Follow the access road along the tree line down to the water. The hiking trail is to the east across the footbridge. Look for white AT style blazes for trail markers. The blue blazes leading to each campsite.

If you love trees and old growth forest this is the place to camp. If you really love to camp roughly with a tent, a hammock, tarp shelter, or just under the stars this is the place to camp. All manner of four wheel drive vehicles are welcome to set up camp. There are no set designated sites established, you will be free to hike in and pack to a spot of your choosing or use your four wheel drive vehicle. Santa has a jeep as well as a 6 seater Polaris Ranger to help you to get you to a spot. We are near the Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River, so plenty of outdoor activities nearby. We popped in late for an overnight stay. Greeted by Bob, a super friendly host, with yummy homemade cookies in hand (thanks to his wife). Some nearby road sounds carried at night with tent camping, likely would not be heard in an RV.
Driving out the next morning we got a glimpse of the nearby town and it looked super cute with quaint shops, nice vibes, worth checking out.

Beautiful, country setting close to restaurants & groceries. Loved the heated pool and bathroom! It also has a full size refrigerator, a grill and small microwave. Shauna and her husband were very pleasant to work with and had lots of fun stories to share. We can't wait to camp here again.

Lane and Dan's property is a beautiful place for a respite from your routine. Lane and Dan are great hosts and will make you feel at home. They have provided a sparkling clean pool and unique bathhouse (that even has a washing machine) and full hookups at the two shaded gravel RV sites.
Away from cable TV and WiFi, nature takes the stage at The Getaway. From your campsite you can watch the fish jumping in the pond, deer strolling across the grounds and thousands of butterflies fluttering about. At night, the dark is broken only by the moon and billions of stars above.
The only downside was that the brutal heatwave during our stay limited our outdoor activity. We will visit again.

A total gem! Shuana and Ralph greeted us upon check-in and were wonderful hosts. The property was peaceful and very well-maintained. We enjoyed watching the Kiger horses and relaxing in the pool in between hikes. We felt right at home and will be back, when we travel to western KY.

I camped here with my husband and two young daughters. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. They were quick to give us a tour of the area and the specifics of the amenities offered. They periodically checked in with us during our stay to see how it was going or if we needed anything. Great people.
There were canoes and two fishing poles, with lures, to use in both of their fish-filled ponds. They graciously offered us use of their fridge/freezer and some refreshments and popsicles inside.
The salt water pool was everything you could want. A large 3 ft area for standing along with a deeper end for the slide and spring board. They offered several pool toys and life jackets. We were in the pool nonstop.
The bathroom was clean and stocked with travel size soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and make up wipes. The pavilion kitchen was large with a microwave, toaster oven, and table top propane BBQ grill.
The RV parking spot was well maintained gravel with a 50 amp hookup. Water connection if needed.
We made such wonderful memories here. Waking up to the beautiful scenery and grazing horses was an absolute dream. The girls had an amazing time swimming, fishing, looking at the horses and running around the well maintained property. We will be back!

Wife and I needed a few days of complete downtime and we found that here at Lane and Dan’s little slice of heaven. The hosts were amazing from the start of the reservation till the minute we headed back to reality. The bathroom/showerhouse is an amazing addition to this beautiful property. The views are spectacular, the lake has some great fish, the pool was refreshing and we’ve already booked our next trip to Lane and Dan’s property. If you don’t book here you will never know what you are missing out on.

Bob and his wife were absolutely lovely, it was a wonderful place to spend the night. Their dogs were great, and they were so hospitable greeting us with cookies and sent us off with the most lovely lattes. 1000\10 would stay again!

The heavy rains made camping on the lawn less than ideal. Fortunately, Bob had a great Plan B and offered me a spot on an adjoining driveway, which I greatly appreciated. I also had the chance to walk through Pecan Grove, and it was a peaceful and beautiful experience. The location is quite convenient too. Once I had my rig settled, Bob and his wife brought me freshly baked cookies, which were a wonderful treat after driving through a downpour all day. They are really nice people, and I enjoyed meeting them.

What a great little oasis between the madness (in a good way!) of Nashville and Memphis! Bob and Carla were both lovely and very welcoming. Also very helpful with information about the area. Carla’s homemade cookies on arrival were delicious 😋. Would definitely recommend

We enjoyed our first stay so much we came back five days later! The spot was just as described and reviewed, which was what we needed. And the pups and cookies were wonderful bonuses.
Please see previous review for more context. We would stay again! The second time, we got to meet Bob’s wife and thank her directly for the yummy cookies!

This was our first car-camping (sleeping IN our car vs. driving up to site and pitching a tent, which we’ve done many times) AND Hipcamp experience. Pecan Grove and Bob made it such a great experience. He was communicative and flexible…we arrived an hour later than anticipated from Chicago. The site was wonderful with yummy artesian water. Freyda (sp.?) & Winnie (sp.?) were sweet doggos who gave us their seal of approval (I think?). And Bob’s WIFE’S COOKIES! YUM! We would camp there again…in fact, hopefully on the return trip, as we were going to visit friends in NOLA. This was the perfect place to rest for the night in a lovely wooded spot in a sweet town.

We would recommend this place to anyone. It was a quiet and comfortable place to stay. There were good directions that were sent with the confirmation. Bob was very quick to communicate when needed. The host was very personable and the world's famous cookies were amazing. There was a short little Trail nearby which my husband and I were able to take advantage of.

Enjoyed a quiet dark peaceful night. Good location for our road trip stop. Heard a couple of early morning trains.. would stop there again. Great 5G cell signal with a location in town, got some work done.

I did not get to stay here due to being sick, but the hosts were very responsive and accommodating to my flex in plans. I wish I could’ve stayed to meet them. I will definitely keep them in mind next time I’m in town.
