Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath. The Hippie Bus is new for the 2025 season and offers a trip back in time. Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, wild turkeys, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that and multiple tent sites.The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season (August) then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding with camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. A nature trail, fresh produce usually. A tetherball!! Plus national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions by the campfire or on the front porch. On occasion, we have outdoor movies(when the sun goes down early) and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks or swing from the 60 foot swing in the old cottonwood and soak in that downhome country feeling while it “snows” in July. Weekend Trip to Black Hills & Badlands Sunrise &Set

Staying here was my favorite part of visiting South Dakota! I would definitely recommend spending just the tiny bit more and booking the cabin (in the summer heat)—so comfortable and worthwhile. The sunset was so beautiful from their property, and it was so fun to be near the cows, bison, horses, deer, and their wonderful cat. In the evening shade, even when the temperature said 100, it was lovely to sit out back and watch the scenes. It was a great two nights, and I would definitely 100% book here again if I’m ever through the area. (Also one of the only locations available that’s convenient between Badlands NP and Custer SP/Wind Cave.)

Me and my husband and my grandson were passing through here on our way home to Missouri. We had been out two weeks and stayed many places, but this was definitely my favorite Katie Chris and the kids were so awesome. They played with my grandson with their own toys even gave him a bike to take home as we were leaving definitely recommend this place to anybody and everybody you will not regret it. I may just have to go up there just to get away for the weekend and stay again.

Our family of five stayed in Cedar Dome for three nights and loved every minute of our stay. The king beds were luxuriously decorated and so cozy. Like a five star hotel. The bathrooms are private and so very clean with steamy hot water and nice soaps and towels. I am so happy I chose this property and will be back. Oh yes, must note that the hosts are super friendly and provide excellent service! And the views are beautiful.

This was the BEST place we have stayed in a long time! Bear Den Cabins and Camp was the friendliest, cleanest, comfortable rental. Tammy greats you upon arrival and gives a tour of the grounds, which includes the cleanest bathrooms and showers. A washer and dryer are available, and ice is available for campers to use. The cabins and tents are extremely comfortable. The beds are great! Two pavilions are available to grill in, or sit and talk to other campers if you choose. The only thing that I would change is that they move the camp to New York. But we will drive 1700 miles again to stay there. It’s so convenient to Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Highway, Sylvan Lake. If you’re lucky, you might come up on some kids selling iced tea during your travels. We can’t say enough about Bear Den Cabins and Camp. You definitely would enjoy your stay.

I had a lot of fun out on Brian’s property! We reserved the ready, set, camp option and it made everything so convenient, we just bought our bags and bedding. It stormed the night we were there and we stayed safe in the tent and stayed dry. It was pretty cool honestly. Brian’s property has a lot of different things to check out.

We just got to (safely) enjoy the show from the porch. We were lucky to sample their delish homemade bread and leave with fresh eggs! Our girls loved it!

Uncle Brian's Hippie Bus is beautifully situated on the edge of a lovely, well-kept property. We especially liked the "misting gazebo" with a water spray to stave off hot weather, and the special touches like the magical bridge to get to the bus, and the walking trail near the bus that led to a mini-Mount Rushmore. Clearly Uncle B. maintains his property with love and a touch of magic and creativity!

The Hive stay for our busy bee family left memoral and sweet memories and experiences.

Successful adventure to give my child the exposure to farm life adventures. Our hosts were warm and engaging. Their directions and instruction for sharing their property and animals were well received by my child. We absolutely enjoyed feeding the chickens, guineas, Atticus (turkey), and horses. We look forward to returning this fall to continue swinging on the big swing or hammocks, observing the animals, and making s'more around the heart hearth.

My partner and I and our 10 and 12 year old stayed in the Diner camper. Steve and Carole were so welcoming and made great efforts to ensure we had everything we needed. The horses were sweet, the land was beautiful, and the camper was set up with everything we needed. The kids got to share some treats with the horses and left with some very cool feathers from the variety of birds at the farm. Excellent stay—recommend this place whole heartedly!
