1 night at The Quack Shack

We had a wonderful stay at the Quack Shack. Lovely river views. Nick was a kind host and made sure we had everything we needed. The sleeping arrangements were comfy and the place was well maintained. Easy walk from your car to the spot. Weather at night was in the high 40s and we slept comfortably with doors closed, blankets, and warm clothes.

What an outstanding stay! Dana has done a tremendous job making everything perfect- from the place itself (gorgeous) to the personalized touches. If you’re in the fence about staying here, do it!! You won’t regret it at all, and it’s beyond worth the price!

By far the best place ever stayed. Perfect place for relaxation. The breakfast Chef was amazing (Megan) and the dinner by the waterfall was absolutely perfect with Chef Amber Highly recommend them both. The cabin is absolutely perfect and down to every feature and the shower incredible. The amount of care this place offered was 10 star for sure. Will be staying again. Dana and David are so nice and make this place the best place for relaxation.

3 nights at Field Trip Glamping Travelers Rest

The place is thoughtfully laid out. Love the multiple housing options. We stayed in the yurt, decorated with intention. The lights at night in the trees made the evening feel warm and inviting. Bathrooms were clean. When entering the address in the gps be sure to put in the city Travelers Rest, address defaults to Greenville which is a residential area. Great stay, definitely want to try out another house perhaps the A frame house. :)

We had a amazing time in the tree house. So much fun. Kathy & Rodger went above and beyond for our stay. Thank you. We will miss Noddle. ❤️

Weekend Trip to Greenville - Luxury Southern Bell

Southern Belle is a perfect place to take a break and spend the weekend only with the nature! The facilities provided were flawless! Jeremy is a wonderful and helpful host! Highly recommend! A perfect hideaway right into the nature! And yeah! The surplus of communicating with the animals is priceless!

This structure is so well-designed and the hot tea/coffee available and wood fired hot tub made it extra special! We propped open the siding and my son read a book while I cooked our dinner in the chiminea on the deck - so lovely.

We had a great time at the Quack Shack!! Nick was super nice and met us at his pottery studio to show us around and then we had the place to ourselves all night. He was kind enough to leave us with scrap wood to make a fire in the chimnea!!! Everything was clean and the A-frame was super cozy. Absolutely wonderful glamping experience complete with two heaters to keep us warm all night, nearby bathrooms, and a stocked coffee/tea bar. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to friends!

Weekend Trip to The Quack Shack

I loved staying on Nicks land, the site was beautiful and relaxing. He had all the amenities we needed and then some. He met us at the tea Hut to give us a tour of everything and updates on work he's doing to improve his sight which will include a sauna and another hot tub, So we will definitely be going back. He was a great host and he let us check out a little bit later to give us more time the following day to enjoy the shack.

This site is accessed via a short trail through the trees down a gentle, sloping hill, and finally by a short stairway, and as such it may not be easily accessible for campers with limited mobility. Located on the grounds of the Duckpond Pottery, The Quack Shack is a secluded treehouse perched along the banks of the French Broad River. The structure is an 8x10 A-frame that transforms via a hinged wall into an open-air cabana with a charming deck that affords spectacular views of the French Broad River and surrounding countryside. The interior of the Quack Shack, with its vaulted 11-foot ceiling and earthen plaster walls, provides a warm glow in a rainforest environment. It is furnished with a comfortable seating area surrounding a coffee table that can be easily converted to a full-size queen bed at night. On the outside deck are beach chairs and a chimenea available for use. The quack shack has electric power (1 outlet only). Amenities include a bathroom located a short walk away at the main building as well as an open-air on-demand shower located off the bathroom on a deck overlooking the French Broad River. Morning coffee and tea is available at The Tea Hut located just a hop, skip, and jump from the treehouse. NOTE: The Duckpond Pottery is a working studio pottery and gallery that is open to the public. It is also home to occasional open-air house concerts on the deck at the pottery. The host generally blocks concert dates, however, it is worth double-checking with the host that there will not be a concert if you desire a quieter experience.

Guest access There is a digital lock with an entry code. Other things to note Note from a Guest: Great property for family, couple, or small group This unique farmhouse style home is a great choice for travelers and an excellent venue for gatherings by local residents. It has easy access but the property has abundant trees and is secluded from nearby roads and homes for privacy. The interior, baths, and kitchen are updated but maintain a pleasant farmhouse feel. The host had it perfectly clean and well stocked. It has a bonfire pit and a smaller fire pit for outside gatherings and the hot tub was immaculately clean, heated, and ready for use when we arrived. Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts. Fireworks are legal and permitted within reasonable hours. Horses are welcome.

FAQs Does the host provide firewood? No Are pets allowed? Yes Is smoking indoors allowed? No Are there bugs? Yes, you will feel like you are camping. Bring bug spray Will I get cold or hot inside the dome? Although we try our best to make it comfortable, there is a chance the heater/ac will not perform the way you would like. This is a shelter that may let cool/hot air in. Pack sleeping bags if you are concerned, or even a heated blanket. Fans provided. What else is provided? Shelter, bed, sheets, blankets, towels, toaster, mini fridge, toilet paper, hot tub, & fans. Bathrooms? Each dome has their own portable toilet that is treated weekly. Running water? No Cell service & Internet? T Mobile does not have reception. AT&T has service. There is no internet or TVs. We encourage you to unplug and connect. Parking? The road you drive in on is about 50 feet from the dome so you will hear cars driving by. When we stay there it becomes white noise but you will hear them. Is the stocked pond only for my group? The pond is accessible for you, guests at creekside cottage & guests at the other dome. The creek is as well. Is the Hot Tub for only my group? YES, if you rented the Freedome this is only for your group. The other dome gets access to the sauna and Creekside Cottage has its own hot tub. Is the Sauna for only my group? YES, if you rented the Kingdome this is only for your group. The other dome gets access to the hot tub and Creekside Cottage has its own hot tub. What do you advise we bring? Firewood.If needed plates, cups, utensils, coffee & coffee filters. If you are a colder person bring a heavy duty sleeping bag or extra blankets to be safe. Good shoes as it may get slippery/muddy. Fishing gear if you want to catch some trout for dinner. Portable grill or skillet if needed. Bug spray, adventure energy, swimsuits. You may want to try a dip in the creek and back to the hot tub for a Wim Hof experience.
