This is a lovely quiet get away . The owners are relaxed and very friendly. The showers, bathrooms etc are clean and well run. We had a great time hiking and roasting marshmallows around the campfire.

James was an attentive host and his responses were very quick. The campsite is awesome, clean, and in a very safe location. We enjoyed our camping trip here and will be back again for sure!

We camped for 10 nights. Very quiet other than the birds singing. We enjoyed visiting with our children and grandchildren who all live in the area. Our host, James, was very nice and accommodating. Our campsite was a mix of sun and shade. The kids had a great time kayaking and fishing in Big Creek which borders part of the property. It was like camping in the middle of the woods, but close to the little town of Saluda. Thank you James. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great experience camping at Utopia Farm. Ray and Cindy are easy going and a pleasure to chat with. We love the horses, so very friendly. Goats are a riot! They we’re interested in what we were doing (Overlanding). We love sharing our adventures with those who are interested. Looking forward to seeing them again and highly recommend camping here!

I highly recommend Victor place. My family went there on a daddy daughter camping trip.The property is beautiful.The fishing is great and he was very helpful. My daughter said it was the best camping trip ever! Only issue we had was using the directions from this app, they were off a little. Found out through him that he also offers twenty dollar day fishing and will absolutely be taking him up on that. We will definitely be back!

This was by far the best hip camp ive ever been to. We are so happy we found Victor’s little slice of heaven. I believe every camper and angler should experience this place!! There are so many things to see or do on this property. We asked where the fish sit in the lake and he told us “wherever you can cast” and he was not lying!! We caught SO many fish this weekend and even cooked up some bream on the fire for dinner. The road was no problem, you couldnt hear it that much from our tent anyways. Even if you feel like it is the property is so big theres a spot somewhere for everyone. Victor even let us borrow a table and an extra chair. The shower and toilet was such a great addition as well. Victor was extremely nice and helpful, and came and checked to see if we were catching fish. He was an awesome host and we will 100% be back ASAP!!

Weekend Trip to Lizardsniffer

Our time was too short. We only stayed 1 night but it is really a great place. So great to be able to let our dogs (4) have a safe place to run around and work off energy. The paddock is a great asset to an RV site. The owner is very friendly and we could probably have talked for much longer. Clean, quiet and very relaxing. Cannot wait to go back. Oh and you can bring your horses as they have cottages with paddocks also!

We couldn’t have picked a better spot for our first campsite on this unhinged adventure. From the moment we arrived, the owners treated us like family—genuinely kind, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful. The campsite is tucked right along a peaceful, gorgeous river, and even Sir Snugglefluff (our dog) made himself right at home—he’s now a proud dirt pillow connoisseur. When our Jeep broke down in a nearby town, the camp owner didn’t hesitate—came to get us, made sure we had groceries, and even followed up with the mechanic. That kind of hospitality is rare, and we’re so grateful for it. We also happened to be there during their once-a-month cookout, and let me tell you—that smoked BBQ and sweet Georgia tea combo? Absolutely unreal. Heads up for future guests: the cookouts aren’t every day, so if your timing lines up, you’re in for a treat! This place set the bar high for the rest of our trip. We will definitely be back.

We had an amazing time at the Lizardsniffer camp! A friend of mine and I stayed for some mommy and me time and our expectations were over exceeded. We got to experience one of the cabins which was very comfortable and luxurious as well as tent camping. We were happy with the tent site as it had everything we needed very close together. Although it was early in camping season our kids still enjoyed swimming in the lake and going out in the kayaks. The land is large and beautiful with plenty of space. We also enjoyed seeing the horses and donkey. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the trip and felt spoiled by Randy and his staff, how can you not with every toilet having a bidet. Thank you for a great time!

Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired. We are surrounded by families who have lived on their land for many generations. No subdivisions. Great place to star gaze without street lights. We have 2 sites with water and electricity for camping. Our large barn has a full kitchen, full bath and den area for campers to share. Yet, we are just a few miles from 2 boat ramps on Lake Murray which offers fishing and boating. Also, we are just 30 miles from metropolitan Columbia, historic Newberry, and 15 miles from the town of Lexington, SC. The Capital City of Columbia, just 30 miles east, offers Riverbanks Zoo, Richland County’s Congaree National Park, Saluda Shoals Park, EdVenture Children’s Museum. The Newberry Opera House is 36 miles away and The Big Mo Drive-in Theatre is in Monetta, 13 miles. Indian Trail Public Golf Course is 15 miles in Leesville.
