Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Looks can be deceiving so don’t fall for it. Mike’s property was a great stay. When you pull in, it can look a little off putting with the cabin in the woods he has for you to use as a kitchen and bathroom, it honestly looks a little scary from a movie, but what a hospitable place. Our site was huge, we had firewood at our site, running water, electricity, and a great spot for our tent and hammock. We met a few other people during our stay so that was a pleasant surprise. Mike’s communication was spot on and always prompt. If we head that way again, we would stay again!

Stayed one night. just needed a safe place to sleep. Lots of privacy and multiple places to setup. I got in late around 10:30 but was setup and in my sleeping bag by 11:30 pm and slept straight through to 6 am.
Would book again. Janie stayed in contact with me as I was traveling and made sure I was set for the night before they turned in.

We are snow birds working our way north and were pleased to find this spot after checking out Columbia. Charlie met us at the driveway and brought us out to a perfect campspot at the top of a field. We even had time to check out the hiking trail. Bonus points for the quiet at night and plenty of room for our 2 rigs.

The property is truly beautiful and peaceful. Lights in the trees and along the lane were definitely appreciated and so darn lovely. The rustic cabin is just that! Definitely stepping back in time, the bungalow is so unique, with a well stocked kitchen, working bathroom and a super hot shower available. Very quiet and tranquil setting, trails, and sites equipped for a campfire. Definitely recommend!
