Weekend Trip to The Hidden Gem

We had a wonderful stay on James’s property. James was a great host. Met us upon arrival and made sure we had what we needed. Since we didn’t need hookups, he let us choose our own spot, which made the experience even better as we were able to camp closer to the water. The land is beautiful, wooded and surrounded by water and a pond on site. It’s a really unique setting: you feel completely tucked away in the woods, yet the moment you leave the property you’re in a neighborhood and only a short drive from downtown and all the essentials. We’d absolutely recommend this spot, especially for anyone who enjoys boondocking!

Very relaxing secluded site very much like state or provincial campgrounds next to the river delta. Took an early morning walk around the field watching the morning mist move over the morning dew-covered grass. Full hookups for sewer, water, and 50/30/20 amp electrical. Within a gated area next to a large field with an eclectic assemblage of farm machinery and boats. Left very relaxed.

This is the spot! I hate to even recommend it because it'll get too popular. Easy getaway from Greenville but you feel like you're miles away. It has all the camping amenities needed (tables, chairs, fire pit, outhouse, flat space for tents or car camping) and is well maintained. Great view of Paris Mountain. Some noise at night from cars and neighboring dogs so bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to those. We're already planning our next trip here. Easy access to mountain biking and hiking trails and Saluda river is nearby too.

I called ahead of time and they provided the after hours check in and packet. The grounds are extraordinary. They're clean, large and well laid out for. large 80ft full size coach and trailer. James is a wonderful host. He’s very responsive and accommodating. The spot is super quiet and peaceful, hidden away from the noise of the city. It’s in a large bird sanctuary so there were beautiful sounds of wildlife to listen to all night.
