After traveling and living around the world, raising my kids... you can return home. I craved the seasons and the woods and some quiet peaceful land. I feel in love with this property as it had the perfect spot in the middle of the ten acres for a primitive camp, not to far from the house and driveway so very easy assess. A short walk up a trail. It is private and has lots of wildlife, the deers cross every morning and evening. We added another tent camp lower down on land near creek. It is a short 10 miles to Ithaca for provisions and other types of activities, or just stay and play on the land, fish, swim, hike, swing, rest, read, write, meditate, dream. come in peace or come to rediscover your peace. I look forward to meeting you Learn more about this land: We have 10 forested hilly acres 12 miles from Ithaca. We’ve built a camp with a covered dry lean-to with a double bed platform inside to put your sleeping bags or to put supplies off the ground and dry. Lots of room for tents. We have a primitive upper camp where you can also put tents for privacy. There’s a teepee with a wood base. The campfire has a grill, 2 homemade benches & an Adirondack chair. An orange hammock and also a picnic table. There’s a fun homemade swing & seesaw. We made many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle in cash at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle. Portable toilet outside, outdoor private shower. Come enjoy. It is very quiet. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. Watkins Glen is breathtakingly magnificent. Also great cross country skiing, walking and hunting nearby at Connecticut Hill. There is downhill skiing at Greek Peak 45 minutes away if you are winter campers. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes.Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, museums for art and lots to do for kids like a public pool on the lake.Or simply hang out and enjoy our ten private acres of forest. We are advertising a "RUSTIC CAMPING EXPERIENCE". This isn't the state or county owned or run site. We want you to come and be clean and considerate and have a great experience! I walked many lots over the previous several years and this pasture was perfect. This location is a work in progress. The pictures are over a few years and when you get there the hay could be high, it could have just been cut. The reviews and some pictures begin 3 years ago 3 days after we went online. Close to Ithaca, NY, Cayuga Lake, and Cornell University. Once a snowshoe lodge, then a Boy Scout camp, this rustic cabin retreat property is surrounded by the Robinson Hollow State Forest. The 100 year old cabin sits only a few hundred yards from the Sierra Club section of the Finger Lakes Trail. The area is a peaceful spot for hiking, camping and snowshoeing or cross country skiing (October 1 bow season deer hunting begins, and mid-November to December is NYS gun deer season-which may not be as serene as you'd like). Perfect get-away for humans and their four-legged friends, it's a dog's dream vacation spot. Enjoy a week or weekend, or your vacation in a place where the "noise" is the melodious sounds of nature. It is remote enough to completely break from urban life, yet close enough to Ithaca, NY to enjoy its beauty and attractions. Amenities: outhouse, hand water pump, two-seater outhouse, propane grill, some pots and pans, grill utensils, wood stoves, private, gated entrance, pond, trails. Sleeping loft, no bed (you provide mattress/sleeping bag, etc.). There may be candles, toilet paper, bug spray (if left by previous guests). Learn more about this land: A wonderful rustic, private, off-grid get-away, perfect for couples, families, and pups who enjoy camping (log cabin with wood furniture available, you may pitch your tent anywhere on the property - leave no trace).  You may see some wildlife throughout the property (including a milk snake that lives in the cabin wall, but is harmless). It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs.  There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

We are a working blueberry and flower farm near the town of Tunkhannock, in the Endless Mountains Region of Pennsylvania. We also have nature and some fun recreational opportunities both on property and close by. On our property we have an 18 hole disc golf course (more info can be found on Udisc or Facebook page "Campsite Disc Golf"). The course has all PDGA approved chain baskets with wood chip or grass tee boxes. We are constantly upgrading the course, it gets better every year! We have some beautiful places for walks (or easy hikes) including walking the course even if you don't play disc golf....it makes for some nice clear trails through the woods. There is a 2 1/2 acre pond where you are welcome to kayak, canoe or paddleboard. A 10 acre swamp, a small creek (that does often dry up in the summer....it's beautiful in the spring), and bountiful wildlife. Nearby are many more recreational opportunities. Within driving distances varying from 5 minutes to an hour (most things within 20 minutes) are a river, two creeks, several lakes (all with public boat access, some with swimming), hiking and biking trails, wineries, brewery, restaurants, a movie theater and shopping (grocery stores and the small downtown are less than 10 minutes). We can provide more information and directions for any activities you are interested in. Our private road which leads to the areas available for camping has only one resident who lives past (with access rights to use the road to get to his property) so it is secluded with no traffic. It can be very dark on moonless nights which is fantastic for stargazing. Intrepid winter campers will find the sky is most crisp clear and incredible in the winter....but the summer is still quite spectacular. Blueberry season is all of July and spilling into August (although winding down by then). During that time the Grassy corner site is more out of the way and quieter. The Most Convenient Woods is close but separate, no one except a passing disc golfer can easily look into your site. You will hear activity in the blueberry field during the day. Possibly including a noise maker that makes a periodic boom in the mornings to keep the birds from stealing all the berries (we are looking for quieter bird scaring options for the future). We try to keep that to a minimum especially if campers are present but can't promise silence. The noise maker is turned off as soon as customers are present so it is just a little while in the morning.

They put the homestead in a gorgeous spot that we knew we needed to find a way to share. We loved camping at the ranch over the holiday weekend. We had a nice spacious serene spot where our two 10 man tents that were shaded in the evening, and we got to fall asleep to the babble of the creek. We walked up the creek to the swimming hole and took a wonderful and refreshing dip at the swimming hole where we got to hang out with other fellow hip campers and Dwayne himself! We had an amazing family weekend and made a few new friends. I would definitely recommend this spot for family camping weekends, and my family cannot wait to get back!

A Fairie Tale farm indeed! The campground/farm has it all, if you know what ”real” camping is. As a busy family from the city, we value rest, quietness and most of all privacy when we go camping, and Susan’s land delivered! The best nights’ sleep, ever! It was lovely to be surrounded by nature, wake up from the birds singing and not by noisy neighbors ( although we did have neighbors but they were polite and respectful ). Susan is super nice and hardworking, she made sure we are settled and got everything we needed, she did all the same with the other campers. Ricketts Glen State Park is about a few minutes drive. We did the “Falls Trail” trail, ( because we are a family who hikes ) and oh boy, we have hiked difficult trails, but this one, please do not underestimate, you will need proper footwear! The trail we picked was a “moderate” one, but we find the way back is hard because it was very slippery where the “falls” are, and there’s so many of them! Seeing the horses in the afternoon was such a delight, because our site was just right in front of it! We can’t wait to go back, maybe next camping we will pick shelterwood! Thanks again Susan!❤️

My friends and I had an amazing weekend at Susan’s camp. Serenity Ridge had a gorgeous view, late night visits from the horses, and plenty of space away from the other sites for privacy. This site had both flat, open space as well as covered wooded area. Susan was extremely responsive and provided all the potable water & fire we needed at no additional cost. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

This is the second time my family and I stayed on Dwayne’s land. This has become a new favorite camping location for us. The camp is dog friendly and sites are distant from one another, allowing for privacy but the campers and dogs can all mingle together at the swim hole/creek. There are gorgeous farm animals that are friendly and enjoy eating carrots if you happen to bring some along! Dwayne is an incredibly generous, friendly and approachable host. He genuinely cares about how your camping experience went and makes his rounds to make sure each site is alright! The camp is easily accessible and is about 15-20 minutes from Watkins Glen. Staying at Tempest Ranch Camp is no doubt worth the stay from wherever you may be traveling from. We cannot wait to stay again in the future!

Amazing stay at Tempest Ranch! Dwayne was a wonderful host and so friendly. The farm had everything we needed and then some. Horses, friendly dogs, streams, trails to walk, beautiful fields, a swim hole, a small pond where my teens canoed. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night! All the other campers were really friendly and made the trip that much better. We adventures to Watkins Glen and Ithaca by day but always made it back in time to enjoy the farm life. We will definitely come back and stay when we are in the area! Our campsite was Tipi By The Stream right next to one of the horse pastures. Highly recommend Tempest Ranch!

Beautiful views, close enough to Watkins Glen but far enough so that you don't hear much commotion. Dwayne is lovely and inspiring. The swimming hole I'd refreshing and clean. The symphony of birds every morning was amazing and we saw deer. Can't forget to mention the friendliest donkeys I've ever met live at tempest ranch. Not many bugs for mid summer either! It's a peaceful place, highly recommend to like minded nature lovers.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. WELCOME to Pooh's Corner- We hope you enjoy Pooh's Corner as much as we enjoy having all of you great Hipcampers sharing our beautiful Fingerlakes Region with us. Pooh's Corner lies in a rural area just 1.5 miles from Watkins Glen. (3315 County Road 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We highly recommend "Havana Glen State Park" (same general area) for those types of camping units.

We have a mature pine forest grove that you can pick a spot to camp next to,or walk our creek and find a cleared spot to tent or just sleep next to campfire. We have been here 20 years improving what was run down, and continue to add a few pines and special private site for great memories! Our sites sit along meads creek which is nice to sit and relax in. At the bridge along maple lane is a very fun swimming hole ,which has been so nice all summer let your dog swim with you and have a nice float .we have a picnic tabel and fire ring at most sites . We are constantly making new fun sites to enjoy . fire-ring and outhouse! We have a pond to feed fish and explore on a canoe or bring tubes .always horses and donkeys to see . I have 1850 foot of stream to hike along and explore wildlife.turkey,deer,fox the occasional coyotes howling . We have been getting eagles.few bear sightings. ..we have .some pretty private spots along the creek . And under the pine tree grove.we border 9100 acres of sugar hill state Forrest. Trails everywhere. Twelve miles of back dirt roads to get to Watkins Glen state park. 7 miles to the Glen race track .twelve miles to a great dirt track to see racing.we can accommodate horse camping ,either by ride ins or trailers with pASTURES TO PULL INTO. ! I grew up on this land hiking the gorge, playing in waterfalls and riding horses in the pasture. After traveling throughout Europe, the Middle East and India and living in San Francisco I came back home to build a house here so my children could also experience the beauty of living close to nature. Family members helped to build the yurt which originally served as the school house for my children's gardening program. My dad and I are avid gardeners and orchardists. It's our pleasure to offer warm hospitality to travelers seeking a unique yurt experience!Learn more about this land:Climbing Vine Cottage is a custom-designed yurt nestled in an organic vegetable and perennial flower garden near our home. The yurt features a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen (includes chocolate and freshly roasted coffee) with seating for 6. The bathroom is stocked with towels, local soap, shampoo, etc. Sleeping accommodations include a lovely master bedroom (full size bed) with flat screen tv for dvds, fold out futon bed in the living room (full size) and two twin beds in the loft. The yurt stays cozy in winter months with a thermostat-controlled wood pellet stove (pellets are provided). The stone patio offers outdoor dining, a gas grill and a fire pit. There's a path through the wildflower field to a beautiful nature preserve which connects to Van Buskirk Gorge with many waterfalls. Guests are welcome to gather vegetables from the garden and fruit at the orchard. Sometimes our hens have eggs you can collect. High speed wireless internet is also included.

Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Christmas Trees are still grown and harvested by Terry's son Scott Towner. Green rolling hills, deep valleys, a waterfall, ponds stocked with fish, a fully functional cabin, herds of deer, flocks of turkey and Canada Geese, & well-maintained roads and trails here in Addison NY. Stay in our cozy cabin located on a quiet dead end street with tons of bird life and acres of nature to enjoy. Walking trails are right out the back gate! There's also a frog pond and campfire areas to enjoy. Marshmallows and roasting sticks available. Were 2 miles to the center of Ithaca where their is plenty to do including using the new bike share program and waterfront trails. Come hungry, Ithaca has more restaurants per capita than either NYC or LA.!! WE ARE BOTH PRO CANADA AND LGBTQ supportive :) Were also just 12 min across town to Cornell University and Ithaca College and 5-20 minutes from numerous amazing waterfalls. The available half bathroom is in the main house, just seconds from the cabin and is open to use 24 hrs. there is Not a shower in it, but you can wash up with hot water and soap, hand towels available as needed. if your staying multiple nights and would like to use the shower just let us know and well work out a time. The bunkhouse has 2 twin mattresses in the loft, and several blankets & pillows, but you need to BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS and pillow CASES as you wish. There is good A/C! Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Bring your own fire wood and pay nothing. If you need any help starting a fire, we can do that. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also have a very sweet dog, Beya-- ( Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet. She may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom but she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. She doesn't jump up, growl, or have any negative behavior with people . ** We have also have for sale our 100 Things To Do In Ithaca Before You Die-- book, let us know and we can have one ready.
