We are located in beautiful Clearfield county Pennysalvina. Our farm is on over 150 acres. It’s has been in the family for generations. It has beautiful farm views with wooded areas. There is lots of wildlife to see. Including bear, bobcat, deer, eagles, fishers, and many other species. We have lots of hiking trails and our property also boarders state game lands. It’s a short drive to the Susquehanna River and other parks. You can also enjoy the cows, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and turkeys at the farm. Contact the host and set up a time to visit and feed the animals. Learn more about our family farm and the animals. We also have a sawmill and wood shop. Nearby is Bilgers Rocks, Rock Run Atv Park, Prince Gallitzin State Park, the Susquehanna River, and many other fantastic outdoor activities. It’s a place to unwind and relax. And connect with nature. This is in a very rural part of Pennsylvania and camping in the winter weather can be difficult. So please prepare yourself with additional sleeping bags for winter. The tent is heated but because of the unpredictable and sometimes dangerous weather you need to be prepared. The bathroom is also outdoors so there will not be a shower provided till after the freezing weather. And the loo is not heated. It is also recommended that you have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to get to the campsite in the winter. It is possible to walk from road to site. But you should consider this when booking. RTR is a very beautiful place in the winter but it can also be dangerous if you’re not prepared.

Campers will have access to the North Country National Scenic Trail that is the longest in the national trail system it spans across 8 states from North Dakota to Vermont covering 4,800 miles.
Minister Creek Trail is a short drive away. It's a moderately challenging hike that passes several outstanding rock outcroppings. After your hike you can drop by frog rock the local's favorite swimming hole that's along the same short drive back from Minister Creek trail back to the Nason Trust.
Tionesta Creek and Salmon Creek are well stocked to lure in any avid fishermen. Along with another local gem; Ross Run's Habitat Improvement area it's a half mile set aside for Children 15 and under and people with Special needs giving them their very own special stocked fishing area.

Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities.
Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required).
Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Seven Feathers has 6.5 acres with several wildflower and herb gardens, along with a small fruit Orchard! Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesdale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. From here, you can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh.
Several ATV trails have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see, including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species, and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay.
The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed, must be leashed at all times, dogs, cats, and horses. Bring your pets! There is a spring with potable water on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesdale Road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky. Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops.
You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby.
Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Weekend Trip to Ridge Top Retreat
We had such a nice time camping here! Beautiful spot with everything you can think of at the site. Host does a wonderful job and is available if you have any questions. The heater in the tent does a wonderful job keeping you warm through the night. Great spot to enjoy the nature and some quiet. Thank you for our stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Our host showed us around her farm and the site was nice and private. It dropped to 2 degrees during our stay but we were able to stay warm with layers and the propane heater kept up just fine. Can’t wait to go back next year!

This is an amazing campsite. Very well thought out in design and very private. Out of my 6 days on the road this was my best night. Tons of firewood, plenty of space for large groups, a great patio with seating boulders and ample space for parking. Highly recommend. Oh, super nice guy as well!

Rebecca and her family were magnificent hosts for our family. They were so kind, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The tent itself was so cozy and the bathroom very clean. We enjoyed making s’mores atvthe campfire and gazing at the beautiful starry sky. We even got to meet the farm animals before we left. It was a great to have our own private space and we highly recommend staying here!

This was a wonderful property there was so much to do within a short distance wish we could have stayed a whole week. Hosts were very hospitable delivering firewood and giving us a shuttle so we could pick up our kayaks after a day of paddling they're also very knowledgeable of the area and we're able to point out a few things that we took advantage of being able to do that we would not have found if it wasn't for them

1 night at Ridge Top Retreat
Ridge Top Retreat is, by far, the most unique and well-done Hipcamps I’ve visited. The interior of the tent is beautifully decorated and the propane furnace kept it toasty warm on a cool fall evening. The “outhouse” has a portable toilet and a hot shower with an instant water heater powered by solar panels. The host provided plenty of firewood and even started a fire for us! With no ambient light, the stars and Milky Way were beautiful! The setting is gorgeous, set on a high spot with an incredible view across the hayfield to a beautiful country church and cemetery. I highly recommend this very special place.

Ed upgraded me to the pavilion site for free, as it was available and it was raining, with more expected over the weekend. It was such a cozy spot, and I loved the lights and having a dry place to keep all my gear! The loft was a cool bonus! Ed and his dad were both friendly and super accommodating. I purchased the firewood bundle, and it was more than I needed for two nights. They even gave me some fire starter and found a space heater that I could use in my tent if I got too cold. I saw deer out in the field in the evening, and the crickets singing was peaceful.
The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the constant droning background noise which I think was from the papermill down in town. It kind of made for a white noise at night, just louder than I liked. But the hosts have a good piece of land up there on the hill. They had a map of the property. There are trails that I didn't even have time to explore because I was out visiting parks for much of the day. This campground was a great base from which to visit Kinzua Bridge, about a half hour away. They have a variety of campers to stay in also. It was a fun fall getaway, and the hosts were a pleasure!

The host was outstanding, the spot was super cute and easy to camp at and it was a great experience.
The spot is right off the road, across the street from a stream and down the street from a dam where you can easily go hang out and/or fish without a lot of other people around.
There's a picnic table, swing, trash can and fire pit, as shown in the pics. The pond is right next to the campsite, yet somehow I did not get bothered by a single mosquito even though they eat me alive in my own backyard that does not have any kind of water nearby.
It was really convenient and just a super easy place to camp.
My only warning to other campers is not to park too far in beyond the fire pit- my dumb arse got a Jeep Gladiator stuck in the mud. Susan and her husband had to come tow me out, which they did with ease and they were really nice about it, even though I interrupted their entire Sunday. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you.

We brought a pop-up camper and had scads of space. A privacy fence separated us from the neighbors, with the old school also offering seclusion. Great ambiance, and the spectres let us sleep peacefully. Nice location, will definitely consider going back.

This was unique spot to spend the last night of summer. The site was a well maintained, with the grass just being mowed and free from previous guest trash. The porta potty was clean and did the job. You can tell a lot of work has been done with the new privacy fencing and gravel driveway. We had no issues maneuvering our 23 ft RV into place

This HipCamp is awesome! I am an avid tent camper but wanted something easy and comfortable - Ridge Top Retreat was perfect. I stayed two nights but wished for more. The site is nestled back in the trees next to a field. I was greeted with fresh flowers in multiple vases, adding a nice homey touch. The tent is wonderful. Comfortable bed, clean linens, twinkle lights, cozy blankets and pillows. I was pleased to find lanterns, extra batteries and a first aid kit. Such a cute bathroom! How can a bathroom be cute? You’ll see! The outdoor shower has warm water (turn on the propane tank first, then hit the switch for instant hot water!) and a port-a-potty type bucket toilet. Very very clean bathroom, stocked with towels/soap/etc, and even has a motion sensor nightlight. The fire ring is stocked with plenty of firewood, and lighter fluid if you forget to bring newspaper/starters. A handy grate is available, and a few pans, to cook your food. Bring foil and your lighter and you’re all set. Note that there is a fridge in some photos and reviews- there is no longer a fridge, so make sure you have a cooler. Gas stations aren’t too far if you need ice and snacks. My pup and I did a day trip to Prince Galitzen park (25 minutes). At night, we lit the tiki torches (citronella fluid provided), sat around the fire (chairs provided) and wandered into the field to star gaze. I would love to return.
