The Houghton site was one of the most private sites. We loved that there were felled logs and branches laying around the campsite to make a fire! Even though the campsite itself was great, you can still see and hear other campsites. If you’re going on a holiday, please bring earplugs as some campers may play music until 3am despite the owner’s reminder of 11pm rule.

Everyone should try camping in a covered wagon at least once. This was definitely far nicer than anything I imagined. The amenities were top-notch and the people were really lovely. Even when the weather wouldn’t cooperate, we were able to play games and enjoy the setting in a covered and screened porch.

We love Barry’s land and have stayed multiple times. The eagles were flying over the river and an unbelievable amount of lightning bugs were out in the fields and in the trees. We took river tubes and were able to tube down the river a bit when the water level came down after having rained a lot the day before.

2 nights at Spring Arbour Magic Forest &Trails!

A friend and I tent camped at Angela and Erik’s spot and we had an overall good experience. Finding our site was easy since we used the map that was provided in the listing and also referred to the automated message that was sent to us after we booked the site. I recommend having an SUV or a car that is comfortable driving over more rougher terrain to get to your site. The sites here are nice and shaded, which would be perfect for hot summer days. We must be in slow season for camping because I believe we were the only people on the camping property. It was nice and private, which was nice. What I will say is that at some point it kind of felt eerie since there wasn’t anybody else around and also since Angela and Erik did not respond to my message prior to coming to the site; so it was a little off putting there was no one there plus the hosts were unresponsive on messaging. Should we have needed anything I’m not sure what we would’ve done since no one was around or contactable. But thankfully, all was well and we had everything that we needed. The outhouses were pleasant to use, and there wasn’t a very strong smell, and they do provide washing water. Overall, awesome spot. Some feedback regarding the fire pit ring: I would recommend, especially since the sites get so leafy that they be buried in the ground. We had a couple incidents where the fire would leak underneath the rim and catch fire on the ground and spread very quickly around the site due to the dry leaves.

Weekend Trip to Patchwork Place

The campground offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, situated away from traffic noise. It features a large pond, fire pits, and a pavilion. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. Visitors are expected to pack out everything they bring in. Although the weather was uncooperative during our stay, the hosts were exceptionally gracious and accommodating. Continue to make your improvements and campers will come!
